Very disappointed with my experience. I rented a truck and was later charged hundreds of dollars for fuel without my authorization or any supporting proof. The company claimed the truck was provided with a 5/8 tank of fuel, but when I asked for evidence, they could not provide any. I requested the previous customer's records or photos showing the fuel level, but no one was able to produce them. Staff repeatedly told me that it is the customer's responsibility to upload photos of the fuel gauge. If customers are responsible for uploading fuel-level photos, then where did the company get the information that the truck started with a 5/8 tank? If that information came from the previous customer's records, why can't those records be shown? A proper investigation should have been conducted before charging my credit card. Shortly after picking up the truck, I had to stop at a gas station and add fuel. I provided the fuel receipt as evidence, but I was told that a receipt was not considered proof and that only photos of the fuel gauge would be accepted. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo because I assumed the receipt would be sufficient. Lesson learned: always take photos of the fuel gauge when picking up and returning a rental vehicle. The fuel level recorded by the company appears to be incorrect, yet they were unwilling to consider the receipt or conduct a proper investigation before charging my credit card. Instead, my credit card was charged without proof, and my concerns were ignored. I was repeatedly told to wait for a manager, yet weeks passed without any follow-up or response. Charging customers hundreds of dollars for fuel without providing evidence, responding to concerns, or conducting a proper investigation is unacceptable. I expected transparency, accountability, and customer service, but received none of these.
