The cargo was tidy and empty but had not be cleaned since at least the previous owner. Highly functional but in need of a wipe-down and quick vacuum in the cab floors. I am more aware of this because of COVID conditions.

There was an IT issue between the online order and the attendant at the location. We then had to verify the application details on the phone as they wouldn't upload in the system. It wasn't a tragedy but we were asked, by the agent to order online and then we had to do it all again over the phone. Just an FYI to help orders in the future. Overall we were happy with the truck, very clean and with the local service.

The fellow at the Esso station had people coming in while we were trying to complete the pickup, which took about 25-30 minutes. He was the only staff. The return took from 11;25 to 12:15. The fellow seemed to have to wait for the tablet that he used to process. The other issue with the location was that I had mentioned several times to the other fellow, who took my reservation, that we needed at truck with a ramp. Upon arrival, we found out that one had not been reserved. Fortunately one was available. Suggestions for this location would be to have additional staff for pick up and returns. Perhaps more local training would be beneficial, as there weren't really any informed replies to my questions....he just shrugged. Additionally, the person to whom I spoke with on the phone was efficient, informative, and clearly understood the whole rental process. This location is convenient, and would like to use this company again, but maybe not this location. Thank you

I had requested a flat on wheels on my original order. When I got there he said he didn't have that. Got stuck paying for a regular dolly which was useless and no help for what I was moving. Back of the uhaul was dirty. Could have been swept out for me. The back was filthy. The front had mud everywhere all over the foot area.

Absolute garbage service. My first ten (literally ten, not hyperbole) minutes was spent waiting for clerk as he was talking to some friend or family member in India. Finally the clerk got to me with what seemed like an annoyed look and gruffly asked "What do you want?" I told him I reserved a trailer and he took my credit card and then told me to "go to the back," pointing in the direction of the back of the gas station. Obviously no pre-trip or help with hooking up a trailer was to be expected at this outfit. When I got to the back the trailer was literally frozen to the ground. I tried to lift the trailer hitch but couldn't. I went again to the clerk and informed him the trailer was frozen to the ground and I couldn't move it. The clerk gave quite an inspirational response, “I can't do anything about it.” I would never have rented this trailer if I didn't absolutely need it and if there was any alternative trailer rental company near by. I needed to move my apartment TODAY, so it was incumbent upon me to find my own solution. I grabbed a dolly sitting out front and literally used it to pry my trailer hitch from the ground. I then had to shovel about three feet of snow to be able to get my van to the trailer. Even though I could now lift the trailer hitch it was still too heavy for me to move it on to my van hitch by myself, so I went back in and asked the clerk to help me once again, assuring him I took care of all the ice and snow issues, so he only had to help me lift the trailer hitch on to my van hitch. The guy helped me get the trailer on my van hitch at least, but as soon as he drpped the trailer hitch, he did not even wait for me to open my door and get out, he was literally back in his store in a New York second. I had to figure out how to hook up the trailer myself and it is not something I am very experienced with. Once I hooked up and got the power going I found two lights burnt out. Oh well.... I moved out of my apartment and drove through Northern Ontario and when I took a turn and hit a bump north of Thunder Bay my trailer seperated from my van. Thankfully, looking at the hitch and chains, I knew enough to put the safety chains on my trailer hitch and thankfully I was taking the turn at a slow speed so there was no damage. I was stranded on the road for about two hours and Uhaul customer service got a tow truck operator out to me and he was able to get my trailer reattached to my van and he secured the hitch properly. I only have good things to say about Uhaul roadside assistance. As for this Uhaul service provider at Caledonia Esso? I can only say if a person unfamiliar with trailers comes to this outlet they could literally leave the premise with an incorrect 1400 IB trailer hookup and put themself and people around them on the road at serious and even life threatening risk. This place is utter garbage service, to the point of being unsafe. Not recommended. I also put this review on Goog

The cashier working the store was very rude and disrespectful to me and my girlfriend and did not treat us very nice. I was not impressed at all with how he acted. I almost decided to go to a different location because his attitude. But other than that the truck ran fine and worked for what I needed it for. The cashier when I dropped it off was a younger man and he was very nice and helped me with dropping the truck off. The truck was very muddy when picking it up. Thank you uhaul for your service

I was originally told to pick the truck up here. Then I was told THREE TIMES that the location changed. I was also told to leave the truck in Caledonia. GUESS WHAT? I was charged an extra fee for "wrong destination" drop off. I was also charged extra mileage and fuel because THE TRUCK I BOOKED WAS NOT THERE and I had to take a smaller truck and make 2 trips between Stoney Creek and Ancaster. U-HAUL sucks big time! Tell everybody: U-HAUL is a complete screw-up of an 'organization'. (YES, WE MUST USE THE TERM organization VERY LOOSELY.)

Used the cargo van for less then 3 hours and was charged for usage of the dolly and furniture pads which we didnt use we had our own items. There wasnt even a dolly in the van to begin with. Very unhappy with the customer service received..Wont be using uhaul again.

Agent provided great service. We had a little trouble with the updating the online booking site, but he got it all sorted out. Also, we were a bit unhappy about thinking we were getting a vehicle in Hamilton, but had to drive out to Caledonia. They gave us a discount for the inconvenience however, so that was great. Again, not a problem with location.

It took 45 minutes to get the paperwork done. Finally ended up paying over the phone. We were very late, having received redirection to this location after we had already departed to pick up the trailer. And the trailer was not the same as ordered! VERY POOR EXPERIENCE overall.

Owner/customer service representative the rudest, most irrational individual I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with- U-Haul should remove this location from their service. I would not just NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING THIS COMPANY/LOCATION, I would strongly recommend you run screaming as fast as you can from here. The owner has inexplicable severe anger issues; his behaviour is threatening and hostile, and he does not possess the intelligence for normal conversation/dialogue. U-Haul head office has yet to contact re: complaint. Go to Avis, Budget down the road!!

No help at all. I asked about insurance and how to open & close the truck, but response was very unhelpful. I was also moved frequently as the shopcounter was the U-Haul counter. Very disappointed I couldn't use a vehicle in Hamilton & I had to get a cab to Caledonia - awful!

First I hope I never have to use Uhaul as this is the second time that I have rented a Uhaul from a gas station type place and they did go out walk around the vehicle check if there was any damage. they have it in the back very muddy not paved. The driver seat slanted to the left very uncomfortable to drive long distance. very dirty inside.

When I arrived to pick up my Uhaul via mobile pickup, the website was frozen on the same screen reading that I needed to return at the time of pick up... even though it was 20 minutes after the pick up time. When I went into the gas station for help, the man behind the counter insisted that the Uhaul station had closed 3 hours ago and continuously fought with me, blaming me for not calling ahead to confirm my reservation. Even though I showed him my confirmation text message from Uhaul. When I called the customer help number, she said would make a change and then hung up on me. When I called back, the customer service woman told me that the store owner can't say no & she couldn't help me anymore, so she gave me another number to call. Eventually the store owner gave us the keys and kept blaming me. The truck was also left open, so it was full of snow & ice. Major inconvenience. Will not use Uhaul again.

I was not impressed with the puck up location. It took them half an hour to give me the key to the van Half hour of wasted time that we really could have used. They were not prepared at all. Took him a while to turn on computer an for it to load. I had already filled out all this info online. Yet was being asked for it again. I am not a happy camper

We got there first to pick up the uhaul and were bumped aside for someone who came in to pay for gas. The gas station system wasn't working properly so we had to wait 10-15 minutes for the guy to pay for gas and then it was our turn to wait again to get the paperwork printed. I believe in first come first serve....this wasn't the case here.

The Uhaul representative was unprofessional and couldn't provide a receipt upon vehicle return. He said his manager is the only one who can provide receits and he was out of town. I had to say I will call the police if he doesn't give me a receipt. I had a very bad experience at that location.

Pickup location never asked if i wanted U-hual insurance, and when i asked that i didn't want the extra insurance he started to argue with me because he had too do the whole process again... Waited almost 30 minutes because he did not know how to use the system...asked me for a license plate from any vehicle because he did not know how to do it without... he just signed off on the paper work and told me it is my own risk for taking the trailer, usually other locations do a walk around with the customer. if i would told someone that was new too using a trailer they would be clueless how to hook it up or what to do with it.... most unproffessional location ever

This experience was a nightmare. I was so pleased to see that the small town of Caledonia finally opened a U-Haul location, as I have used U-Haul before on many occasions, including in the USA. I have never had a bad experience. I am not someone to ever write negative reviews however, something must be done to improve this location. The person I dealt with was Mr. Sanjaykumar Patel. He was difficult to understand and very rude. He immediately came outside to inspect the truck and started pointing out every scratch and dent he could find and accusing us of damaging the truck. We moved a couch. There is no way we caused any damage whatsoever. He then said we didn't fold the furniture pads properly and was going to charge us $10 for that. I told him I was upset about the way I was being treated and he said he would “let it go” this time but next time we need to be more responsible. He then would not fill anymore paperwork out in front of us and told us we were done. I asked him for a receipt and he said we don't need one. When I insisted he printed one off and would not sign it even though there was a space for two signatures, mine and his. I left. I came back 10 minutes later and insisted I get his signature as I did not want to be charged for any damage and didn't trust him. He laughed, scribbled his signature on my receipt and said “this paper doesn't matter.” I feel I was trying to be taken advantage of and mocked. I feel this man is a crook and is trying to take innocent peoples money. I then went on google to write a review about this location. I don't even have a google account. I made one specifically to write this review. On google I was sad to see that in the past two months this location has received 20 negative reviews. This man needs to be audited or retrained. He has upset a lot of people in this community and it is sad to see U-Hauls name attached to such negativity. I am currently waiting for a response from a UHaul manager to see how this issue can be resolved and I am watching my credit card closely. If I do not get any further responses to this issue unfortunately I am going to need to write a review in the local paper to warn other residents about this poorly run business, I wish I had known before.

The sales agent was rude and aggressive. He made me tour the truck alone and forced me to take pictures of any damage, the gas level and the mileage. He did not understand the contract billing rate nor was able to tell me the size of the truck - 15' or 20' with a picture of the truck. The interior drivers cab of the truck was dirty. His record of the gas mileage was incorrect. The gas level was at 3/4 full but he insisted that the amount was 7/8 full because that is what his records showed. He made me park the truck after I had turned in the truck. Complete disappointment with UHaul. I would audit this location and revoke the franchise. This location is doing bad things for UHaul's reputation. Check the online comments, I am not alone.

The attendant upon pick up was beyond rude to us. The whole pick up process took almost an hour! What was the point of online check in if it was going to still take an hour!

VERY POOR COMMUNICATION at this location. Native tax-exemption card was NOT accepted by the customer service agent who claimed he did not know anything about it's legitimacy and therefore refused it. Also, after we returned the truck to the agreed location, someone left a telephone message saying we did not return the truck (while my confirmation number clearly indicated the truck was to be returned to Sudbury, Ontario), accusing me of stealing the truck and threatening to have legal action taken upon me. This idiocy is unacceptable.

Our experience was the worse experience i have ever had renting a truck. The personnel were rude, very ignorant and unknowledgeable about the rental business. They would not come out and look at he vehicle and check it together when we come to pick it up, in fact the person in charge said to look at it ourselves and come see him if there were any issues. We did find minor damages that were not noted and had him come out and acknowledge them. Upon returning the vehicle once again we had to deal with an inexperienced young man with no licence to even drive the unit. He told me that I had to take it to the back parking lot for him. When we tried to pay for the rental we were told that they would not accept payment that day; that we would get an email with the invoice attached and the amount deducted from my credit card. My wife requested to pay cash but he would not accept it stating we would be billed directly from Uhaul. We spoke with the manager of the store and got into a heated argument over this and the fact that they would not give us any paper work acknowledging the time, date or condition of the vehicle on return. Today I received an email from the Uhaul stating that I had not returned the vehicle and they could not reach me. All my personnel information was given at he time of the rental including my home phone number, email address and credit card number. Further more the vehicle was returned on February 24, 2018 at 12:45pm, three hours earlier than expected. When we spoke with the manager by phone about not receiving any documentation of the vehicle return time and condition and we were concerned about any damage or other rental that could have occurred while we were waiting for an email, we were told to take it home if we were concerned and return it the next morning at 8:00am. I will never do business with this establishment again and I believe your company should review this location and it's business practises in the rental area.

Equipment requested was not available, we had asked for a furniture mover, they didn't have one, checking in took a long time, they knew we were coming but problems with the truck made us behind.

With multiple screw-ups prior to ending up at this location, I expected the service here to be exceptional to make up for all the hassle. Instead the service was brutal. The language barrier here make it hard to communicate. ZERO help to hookup the trailer and it's REALLY heavy to lift onto the hitch. The employee doesn't know how to use the website to get it all setup. I had to repeat information 3 or 4 times because he had to keep starting over. I will call other rental companies in the future before having to go back there.

So happy a location is finally close by. Unfortunately I was this employees first time with a rental and it took over an hour to get it done. No concessions were made to my account for this inconvenience or patience needed to finish the transaction. Although he was friendly enough. The van was clean but rode quite rough with apparent transmission issues. I used the truck for 20 min a total of 4 km. When I returned the vehicle I was told that I would receive my invoice via email. I was a bit concerned that there would be issues as there were many initial hurdles this gentleman had with the system. It all seemed fine. Again, any offer of compensation would have been appreciated especially seeing as how this is a brand new location looking to build a customer base in our town.
