(This review is late, as this experience happened in December 2024.) All employees that I talked with were kind and helpful and answered my questions to the best of their ability. This was the first (and hopefully only) time that I have rented a U-Haul. I reserved the U-Haul well in advance, a 26’ Moving Van. In addition, I rented 12 furniture pads, 1 utility dolly, and 1 furniture dolly. The day before I was going to pick up the U-Haul, the preferred location said that they did not have the 26’ truck available and switched the pick up to another location. The second location also did not have the truck and switched the pick up to a third location. I called and confirmed at the third location that everything would be there the next morning. The third location was Beds & Beds in Sioux Falls, SD. Unfortunately, there was no employee available the next morning (December 24) and I had to use the U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 process through the app. (My fault for choosing Dec. 24. I did not realize that there would be no employee present.) I found this process tedious and frustrating, as did the secondary driver. We were able to locate the truck. However, none of the additional equipment was in the truck. We had to locate the equipment ourselves from other trucks. Only 9 of the furniture pads were available. As when renting any vehicle, we checked the vehicle before leaving the parking lot. We noticed the truck was quite low on oil and had to add oil. Immediately following, we discovered the brakes were “soft”. (Brakes were going out and we had to be conscious to leave a much longer distance for which to stop.) As we were under time constraints, I did not contact U-Haul at that time. I understand this was my fault. We returned the U-Haul to U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer in Alexandria, MN. When returning the U-Haul, we were charged for the 3 missing furniture pads. We asked the employee at the office for a refund, explaining that we only received 9 furniture pads initially. They were unable to refund the charge but gave us the steps to take to obtain the refund. I chatted online with Jasmine and they created a dispute file. In the end, I was refunded the charge. My expectation when renting a U-Haul truck was that I would be receiving the truck and equipment that I had requested, in good condition. I also expected the process to be easier, as I surmise it would have been when dealing with an actual person. The process was not especially easy, the truck was not in good condition, and the equipment was not with the truck and/or missing entirely. In the future, I hope that I will not need to use U-Haul, as this was not a good experience.

Chad JHard to get into small lot on a very busy street. Dropped off after hours. Charged me $30 gas for in town move. 5 miles one way. Gas tank should have been full when we picked up. Picture of gas guage is ridiculous way to measure gas used.

KONARD HThe employee was very helpful in assisting hooking up the trailer. The trailer lights worked and was in good condition. The lot is OK but a little cramped for backing up a tandem axle 6x9 trailer. It worked perfectly for our moving project.
Jim LI reserved a 10’ truck but got a 15’ truck which was far bigger than I needed or felt comfortable driving, especially during SD/MN winters. I had an after-hours pick up, and the vehicle was basically parked in a dark alley. I did not feel comfortable or safe. I reserved furniture blankets, but none were included.
Jolene TThis truck was so dirty that I had to drive straight to the gas station and was the inside of the windshield so I could safely drive. The entire truck was filthy except the area you load. The truck ran really badly all the way to Omaha. Which is really strange because it had less than 6000 miles on it when I picked it up. I didn't want to pick up at Beda to beds I wanted to pick up at the main location in Sioux Falls but you guys changed my pickup location to beds to beds. I will tell anyone that is supposed to pick up a truck from there to not do it and insist on going to the main location. Those people don't care about the trucks that they put us in nor do they care whether they're safe to be put on the roads.

KATHLEEN KI was shocked by the horrible treatment I received and will NOT return to that location. The employee misinformed me about the information needed. When he called his superior on speaker phone, he was corrected and told that was not true. The humiliation continued until I left the building. I still cannot believe it. I have rented U-Haul trucks at many other locations over the years, and had never been treated so cruel. Something is not right.

Gerald SLocation was amazing - best experience I’ve ever had renting equipment. Equipment was terrible. Braking was not reliable. The entire truck creaked and groaned at each turn and sounded like the cab would separate (judging from the outside welding, putty and dents/scratches it had at one point) and accelerating was jolting at best if it accelerated at all. The truck was also sticky in the cab with unknown stains and poorly reattached cup holders. The back was full of dead bugs, dirt clogs and broken glass.
EMILY LWas told when i called they werent gonna charge me for being a little late. Ebded up charging me 60 bucks for coiple hrs late. Place was cluttered. Next time i woukd drop ofc at diffrent location
JESUS GI did all the drop-off steps then I came inside the Beds and Beds store and there was the person on duty who just sat there and did nothing to help! What happened instead was the person on duty asked me further to do his job for him! Very terrible customer service experience!

Other than that was great experience how ever I went over on the mile the young man at the counter was great told him I went over on the mile and he called his boss and we came to an agreement very easy fast to work with and transaction. Will use location again.
Mark BHave a person who has the ability to do their job to sign out the equipment in 15 minutes or less. We waited for 45 minutes to get a car dolly. One guy from the bed side walked away. Another showed up and waited for the pay time to start at 11am

Nichole FCheeper per mile rates I think 70 cents a mile is a little high hard to make money and more money for me is more money for you good value at affordable price lower prices on longer trucks make affordable for roadie and other gig or delivery services/gas is so expensive please help the less fortunate tough times God bless stay safe and blessed
Mark BDid not have the keys for my rental contract, then gave me another truck without a new contract. Did not think anything was wrong until the turn in Aurora and was asked to pay a gasoline fee.

pete tWhen I picked it up - the AC was broken and of course stayed that way for 550 miles. I went to the nearest gas station when I picked it up and spent 20 minutes scraping the bugs off the windshield. I also ordered 24 blankets and there were none were on site. I traveled to another location to get them - 45 additional minutes not anticipated.
