(This review is late, as this experience happened in December 2024.) All employees that I talked with were kind and helpful and answered my questions to the best of their ability. This was the first (and hopefully only) time that I have rented a U-Haul. I reserved the U-Haul well in advance, a 26’ Moving Van. In addition, I rented 12 furniture pads, 1 utility dolly, and 1 furniture dolly. The day before I was going to pick up the U-Haul, the preferred location said that they did not have the 26’ truck available and switched the pick up to another location. The second location also did not have the truck and switched the pick up to a third location. I called and confirmed at the third location that everything would be there the next morning. The third location was Beds & Beds in Sioux Falls, SD. Unfortunately, there was no employee available the next morning (December 24) and I had to use the U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 process through the app. (My fault for choosing Dec. 24. I did not realize that there would be no employee present.) I found this process tedious and frustrating, as did the secondary driver. We were able to locate the truck. However, none of the additional equipment was in the truck. We had to locate the equipment ourselves from other trucks. Only 9 of the furniture pads were available. As when renting any vehicle, we checked the vehicle before leaving the parking lot. We noticed the truck was quite low on oil and had to add oil. Immediately following, we discovered the brakes were “soft”. (Brakes were going out and we had to be conscious to leave a much longer distance for which to stop.) As we were under time constraints, I did not contact U-Haul at that time. I understand this was my fault. We returned the U-Haul to U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer in Alexandria, MN. When returning the U-Haul, we were charged for the 3 missing furniture pads. We asked the employee at the office for a refund, explaining that we only received 9 furniture pads initially. They were unable to refund the charge but gave us the steps to take to obtain the refund. I chatted online with Jasmine and they created a dispute file. In the end, I was refunded the charge. My expectation when renting a U-Haul truck was that I would be receiving the truck and equipment that I had requested, in good condition. I also expected the process to be easier, as I surmise it would have been when dealing with an actual person. The process was not especially easy, the truck was not in good condition, and the equipment was not with the truck and/or missing entirely. In the future, I hope that I will not need to use U-Haul, as this was not a good experience.

Fantastic dealership!
Chad JHard to get into small lot on a very busy street. Dropped off after hours. Charged me $30 gas for in town move. 5 miles one way. Gas tank should have been full when we picked up. Picture of gas guage is ridiculous way to measure gas used.

KONARD HThe employee was very helpful in assisting hooking up the trailer. The trailer lights worked and was in good condition. The lot is OK but a little cramped for backing up a tandem axle 6x9 trailer. It worked perfectly for our moving project.
