I picked up an auto transport at this (literal) junk yard location. I was assigned that location by U-Haul. No one on site wanted to hook the trailer to my truck. So they sent out a lady who said, "I have no idea about these thing". We loaded up the truck and I went to an actual U-Haul Center in Kankakee, IL and corrected the things she did wrong and hooked up the chains she did not bother with because "it is too hard". U-Haul should not use this as a location for their services. If my car had come off of the transport because of Big Tops lack of caring or training, lives could have been lost. U-Haul... get smart. There could have been a lawsuit that would have made the headlines. Train your locations and set high standards. You are risking the lives of your customers.WILLIAM D.

It took almost three hours to get my trailer. Then I had to go to another location so I could get a cord so I could have lights on the trailer and to pick up a dolly. I would not recommend uhaul in Illinois to anyone.dWAYNE R.

While the attendant or rental agent was polite and knowledgeable enough, the location was in the midst of a salvage yard. The location was muddy and hard to get to.william R.
I was told to drop it off @ 5pm. No one was there and I stayed on the phone for 20+ minutes only to finally come to the decision to either leave the truck and put the key in the mail box, not the best area, or come back at 8 am. I choose 8 as I figured that would be the safest. The lady on the phone told me to make sure I was there right @ 8 the next day. I was there @ 7:45 and finally someone showed up @ 8:15, grabbed a gas can and told me they would be back in 30 minutes. Finally was able to get the truck turned in @ 9 am. Horrible overall experience.James S.

Junkyard is not exactly the best place to pick up a U-Haul. There were lots of potholes and the staff seemed to be not very well-trained in customer service.Edward H.

I explained to the customer service representative in Killeen Texas that me and my son experienced a life threatening experience when entering Arkansas, when the trailer unhitched and almost caused a catastrophic accident on the interstate.FELIPE H.
I hooked everything up myself. Had to dig it out from tires. Was full of leaves and debris. I asked for a shovel and they said they didn't have one. They didn't even check if the lights worked or even check the trailer with me for damage. Nice guys, just unbelievably complacent.darold S.
I was in a rush, because the message I got from Uhaul told me I'd have to wait till noon to pick up the vehicle. Got a call around noon with a uhaul rep asking if i needed to reschedule because i hadnt picked up my truck at 11 when it was ready. She told me they have some error that always lists the pickup time as noon no matter the real scheduled time. Because of that I was running late, and should have checked the mileage listed on the form the employee gave me but i did not. It was listed as 94 miles, though the vehicle actually had 166 miles on it when i picked it up. It had 213 miles on it when i dropped it off. I ended up getting charged $36 (40 cents per mile) because i went over the 30 mile limit by 89 miles, though I'd only driven a total of 47 miles.Bryan A.

Original location to pick up truck was change with out notifying us. If we didn't call to recheck everything the night before, we would have gone to wrong location 5 mile away. new location for rental was 1 1/2 hour drive into city to get truck. called u haul spent half hour and finally got new location closer but still a drive to get there. new rental rental time 8 am. No one there till 8;20am, person who arrived was not able to rent truck, stated that person doesn't arrive till 10;00 am. call u haul they arrange for us to get truck. left location at 9;10 am. no paper work for rental, no way to point out damage to truck, truck was filthy had to clean truck prior to loading, hired loaders to load truck with 9;00am start, they were there on time, but, no truck to load. arrived 9;45am, cost me extra hour of load time. u haul gave location of place to return truck, but they were closed on Sunday, had to call u haul again, they told us to lock truck with dolly in cab in leave in parking lot. have no paper work on rental or return of truck, what if I got stopped by police, had no way to prove rental was mine! Be very careful of this company, make sure you check every thing they tell you.James S.

offer more for the one way program, we found out about it almost by accident, not sure how, it was for our situation perfect, we had a death in the family, reasons not important, we needed to clean the house that was 5 hour drive and replace all the furniture, hauling furniture is difficult for us, knowing we were able to leave the trailer was heaven sent and didn't cost a arm & a leg. convenientTONY A.

Dude came out of the bathroom wit his pants undone, he seemed cool to talk wit but that was a bad first impression. Then he had no info for me about the insurance and he didn't even step outside to load up or help load the trailer to my van. Besides for him having the trailer in stock, he was completely uselessAaron P.

I was concerned about the hook-up of my trailer, it did not seem correct. I then went to StoreSmart self-storage in Chicago Heights, they corrected the hook-up of the trailer, it was not done properly. Thank you StoreSmart, you were friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very save to travel with the trailer from Chicago to Wilmington, NC.REBECCA B.
