National customer service was terrible. The location didn't check in my returned vehicle on time. I received a call message that I was delinquent. When I returned the call, the rep was rude and dismissive. She even stated U-haul's failure to check with the pick-up location before calling to accuse me of delinquency was not her problem. She seemed not to comprehend and hung the phone up. I called back and spoke to a manager (Dominic) who was more professional. He stated the reps would be re-trained. He offered me a $50 voucher for my next rental that I did not receive.George P.

The truck was old with high mileage (188,000) It probably should be taken off the road. There was an exhaust leak that filled the cabin with fumes if the vehicle was at a stop or standing still. We had to ride with the windows open and still ended up with headaches. There was no place to secure the passenger seat belt. Location was great. Vehicle was unsafe to drive without seatbelts for the passenger and the pervasive exhaust fumes.Craig D.

Rented a van and equipment (dolly, handtruck, pads) to move some heavy furniture, but when we arrived for mobile checkout there was no equipment included, which made our stressful move even worse. I called the location to remove the equipment charges and the Parsippany staffer was rude before I had even given a reservation number then went on to tell me they never had any equipment in stock, it wasn't their problem to resolve, and to call the 800 number. Absolutely awful. Wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for reliable service.David B.

Justin was amazing. He was friendly, efficient and did not try to upsell. I did not realize what the return process was after hours. The u-haul help number was not useful; it took too long for someone to answer. I used the chat and it was ok. I was told to call the location in the morning to confirm that I delivered the truck. I had no idea about a potential 20$ penalty. The signage could be larger from the road. I have lived locally for 10 years and did not know there was a u-haul location nearby .SHEILA L.

Cell service at location is very poor. The associate confirmed that was the case. I guess it's not their issue but the cellular companies. Hard to do checking and return. Lucky someone was there to check me in.Amul P.
Horrible experience. The person Matthew was not helpful or receptive. I reviewed the contract with him and walked to the truck. I asked if there were any issues to let me know. I said I wanted to make sure everything was OK so I didn't get any surprise bills. I brought back the truck around 2pm and I had it reserved until 5pm. Plenty of time to do anything needed. He said everything was OK and I wouldn't get any surprise bills. I got a notification within the hour that he charged some ridiculous cleaning fee when I had cleaned it myself. I filled up the gas before dropping it off. The receipt sent to my email showed the gas was at a different line so I sent Uhaul a picture of what it was when I dropped it off. There was no need for any of this and I was trying my best to make sure the drop off was as smooth as possible. I will NEVER go back to that location. I'm thankful Uhaul was able to fix this. I'll use Uhaul again, but not at that location.ROBERT R.
Reservation 91639267. I needed this truck at 7am. They open at 9am. They told me no problem I could check in online and take the truck. After I checked in online I was never prompted to get the key or pick up the vehicle. The first person I spoke to at Uhaul 800 number told me I needed to to download the Uhaul app. I did but there was not even a reservation under my name on the app. The second person told me even though the the reservation was for 7am the truck was not set up for after hours pickup up and I to to either wait 2 hours until they opened or find another place. I was told this by multiple people at Uhaul 800 number as well. I waited over 10 minutes for a dispatcher and was disconnected. It was already after 8 by then. I waited until 9:05 when the guy showed up to open and did not get on the road until almost 9:30. This shortened my day by over 2 hours and prevented me from doing everything I had to do. There is a sign out front that says "Reservation guaranteed as agreed or get $50.00 form Uhaul". I THINK I'm entitled to a full refund but I KNOW I'm entitled to at the 50 bucks. Also, during all this someone on the Uhaul 800 number changed the reservation to 7:45. I have no idea why. Overall this was a miserable experience.Louis G.

I rented a trailer that was said to be 4 feet (48 inches) by 9 feet. I would have thought that was the inside of the trailer, it was not. It was actually smaller and I had to return the trailer as I couldn't use it to pickup my tractor which 42 inches wide. Suggest listing trailer equipment with inside dimensions tooMICHAEL B.

When I had collected vehicle the fuel tank was 3/4, executive had emailed me the contract and hence could not able to see what fuel level shown in the contract. Contract shown full tank fuel level. I had return the vehicle at fuel level top up at 3/4. Next day I had received additional charge of $20 for fuel. I had called the rental service and the executive told me that it should not charged to you. As of today U-haul had not refunded me $20. I hope U-Haul take appropriate action on the above matter.Nitin K.

You are lucky to have Justin as an employees. He saved me after another one of your dispatchers Vito at Vitos Service Center in Dover NJ completely screwed me out of a vehicle after I reserved it over a month earlier. They guy is a fast talking con artist who does not give a rats ass about consumers, So, be fortunate to have Justin at Black Diamond Garage or else I would have never used U-Haul ever again!!Scott V.

I had an absolute nightmare of a situation with your customer service online. You are very lucky you have such a kind and friendly and customer service oriented dealer That I rented from. Besides being given the wrong information about how and when to pick up a truck when the site is closed, i was then placed on hold for over 37 minutes by a woman who kept putting me on hold and then!! took another 12 minutes to to research my order when I gave her my phone number. I am only sorry I did not get her name as I would recommend her being removed from your service team. At the end of the day the Black Diamond garage saved u-haul's reputation and my business. They were very kind courteous and went above and beyond. They are a 5 star location And You should both reward and thank them for saving your reputation.Paul L.

I really don't know how to rate the drop off facility because I was met at a window and never went anywhere. Did not see the facility otherwise. A separate comment: Zahiyah Roberts at the U-Haul toll-free number was VERY courteous and helpful. My first contact with the U-Haul toll-free number resulted in a run-around and ultimately lead nowhere. Zahirah was the person who answered the second time I called and could not have been more service minded. I was very impressed with her thoroughness and professionalism. I had booked a 20' truck from the East Orange location but on the day of pick-up I was informed there was nothing for me. After calling a few locations, I got a 15' truck from Parsippany, NJ.
