I parked my car in an area I wasn't supposed to. Yes, my fault as I did not notice the signs. However, when I returned the van (after hours), I wasn't able to get my vehicle. But what made it worse was that the Area Manager was contacted FOUR times and never answered the phone. I ended up communicating with the tow yard supervisor who was was able to contact the "owner" of the Uhaul location and they were able to send someone to open the gate. How does the Area Manager not answer the phone in an emergency? I was very disappointed. I sat there for almost an hour waiting to get back in my car.
PATRICK WI’ve rented a U-Haul from Vito’s U-Haul in Dover, NJ for three years without issue. This year U-Haul overrode my rental in Dover, NJ and forced me to use a location in Parsippany, NJ (adding additional cost from miles driven to my trip). I use the truck for a charity golf outing that I run and this added additional expense that wasn’t accounted for. I’m a little disappointed that this happened to be honest. For next year I may look into alternative rental options that are closer proximity to my house.
Daniel Khad the truck from 5/1/2026 to 5/2/2026. dropped the vehicle off the same night i had the vehicle on 5/1/2026 and due to this place’s negligence i got charged with an additional day.
Alex DDid not like the gas tank being 3/8 full and trying to guess how much gas it takes to get it back to 3/8 full when re fueling. 1st rental I have ever had where the tank wasn't full when I picked it up and had to return it full. Other then that, the rental was easy and affordable.

BARI DFront desk person left before 1:30 pm I called and told her I am will be there in 5 mins. I arrived at 1:25 pm. She went to her car looked straight at me and drove away. Very rude and inconsiderate.
Alexander KI booked my reservation as "pick up at the counter during business hours" instead of mobile pickup because my phone is super old and slow, but no one from U-Haul was present at the garage when I got there to pick up my rental. A kind employee from the car repair shop at the same garage told me he had no idea where the U-Haul people were and he couldn't get in touch with them, and when I returned to drop off my rental he told me they'd finally called him back and said that "they're always closed on Mondays"--even though the U-Haul site said this location would be open when I made the reservation online. Having to stand around for a half hour (at both pick up and drop off) going through the mobile self-service process really made my move-out day even more stressful. Super disappointed with the lack of service.
anne hWhen I went to pickup the trailer no one was there ,they were out to lunch? The trailer was supposed to have tie downs for the vehicle. One side was damaged and unusable,forcing me to purchase my own tie downs . Totally unacceptable! Considering I was 400 miles away when I went to use the tie downs!
ALAN FMy rental went well. The van I rented was excellent and easy to drive.
ALAN CI did not interact with anyone, it was park and then drop off the keys at the front door kiosk. Entering the garage was full of potholes, large ones too. Just be careful when you arrive as you'll be bumping all over all the place.
Dennis LStaff were friendly, location was easy to access, equipment was clean, but the parking lot was full of potholes. Only advice is to refresh that but everything else was great
Abigail SMake sure all light work on the vehicles. I did get pulled over 2 min from the drop off location due to the driver side headlight being out. Make the truck paperwork available on the U-Haul app

JAIME Cslightly better signs for return vehicles - eg - the trailers were supposed to go to the Left and the trucks / vans to the right. Impossible to figure that out with an empty lot. Staff helped direct me after I walked around building to find the person.

STEVEN TU-Haul should have equipment verified as available locally instead of online. Two locations should available and after spending an hour driving to 1st and then to 2nd, the equipment wasn’t available. I had to place a guarantee schedule pickup at the 1st location to ensure I was able to get receive a truck
ALRIC HAlthough the staff was excellent to deal with ther was a major problem! The trailer is rened wasn't raited for the vehicle I was transporting! I told them what I was putting on it! They should have known that! I drove 300 miles and lost a day of work for nothing! Plus the cost of the rental!
STANLEY Poverall good. would have been good to know my pickup time was during lunch hours. it was after 2pm, so wasn't expecting to do a mobile pickup but that worked out well nonetheless.
