The truck I received I personally do not believe was inspected prior to it being released to me. Had transmission/engine issues as well as it accelerated, and I had to ride the brakes to keep it under control. Upon getting from Blythe, I contacted the concierge they did not take serious my concerns we continued to load the truck then the roof leaked when the rains came. Uhaul expected me to unload the truck at my expense and bring it to one of their locations to swap it out. The truck was 3/4 of the way loaded at the time that occurred. That was not a viable option. We finish loading the next day got on the road only to have the truck malfunction revving up to 5000 RPMs at a max speed of 40 mph the acceleration issue continued to occur by the time we got to Yuma I refuse to transport the truck any further at that point and requested roadside assistance. Roadside assistance came and hooked their computer to the truck and eight codes showed up. These codes probably were there prior to my picking up the truck. The truck was deemed not safe to drive by the roadside assistance mechanic. 2 1/2 days it took to get this issue resolved. Uhaul at this time arranged for a company to completely offload the 26 foot truck into another 26 foot truck in the pouring torrential rains in Yuma, which caused further damage to our contents. We continued on our trip at a delay of now three days. This all could’ve been avoided had to concierge listened to my concerns prior to us loading the truck initially but because they did not we have extensive damages to our contents. We had additional delays in our travel plans, not only from leaving our original location, but arriving at our final destination no, I would not at this time, refer family or friends to Uhaul the U-Haul truck that we transferred our goods in the roof also leaked in that truck. Upon delivering that truck after we completed offloading it I reported this issue to the drop off location. The drop off location did not check in the truck for 17 hours which meant I was still responsible for that vehicle and the transport trailer for that extra 17 hours. They also charge me for fuel in the truck which I had already filled the truck prior to returning it. So personally with our experience, I would not refer friends or family to use Uhaul look into using Penske instead.
