The car was clean and well maintained. The owner/manager was rude and dismissive. It was 30 minutes before I was helped, he kept helping other customers at the meat shop. He also didn’t show us where the car was parked so it took us a while to find it.

I made an online reservation for a 10' truck, two furniture dollies, and one dozen furniture pads. The selected dealer location was very close to my old address, and my new address is also less than 3 km away, making it the most convenient and cost-effective option. According to your website, the estimated total cost was around $61 CAD. However, upon arriving at the dealership, I was informed that they did not have any dollies or pads available, and I was advised to go to a U-Haul Center to pick them up. I was also told that since I had already paid online, I could simply collect the items from the Center without any additional charge. This was not the case. At the U-Haul Center, the staff told me I would need to pay again for the pads and dollies, and I would also have to return them to the Center, not the original dealership. As a result, I had to pay twice and spend additional time and fuel to travel over 27 km round-trip, which took nearly 2 hours out of my moving day. After returning the truck, I then had to make another trip back to the Center just to return the rental items. I called U-Haul customer service during this process, and I was told I should have called the dealership beforehand to confirm the availability of the dollies and pads. However, nowhere on the website during the booking process was I informed that such confirmation was necessary. I relied on the options available through your website, assuming they would be honored. It feels unfair to shift the responsibility to the customer when the reservation system did not clearly communicate potential unavailability or the need for separate confirmation. In the end, I was charged $44 just for mileage, with a total cost of $108 CAD, significantly more than the original estimate. The extra cost, inconvenience, and time wasted were entirely due to a lack of communication and coordination between your online system, dealerships, and U-Haul Centers. I chose U-Haul for its reputation for affordability and convenience, but this experience was neither. I hope you understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation was. I would appreciate it if you could review my case and consider a partial refund or compensation, especially for the extra charges incurred due to a system issue that was not my fault.

I filled up the gas tank to exactly where it was when I picked up the truck and they still charged me extra for gas. I felt scammed.

My pick up experience was HORRIBLE. U-Haul should reconsider having Boss Halal on Broadway as a representative of the company. I arrived 10 minutes early and the man at the store barely acknowledged me. When I asked if he could check me in for my rental he simply said "10:30" and walked away and starting working at his meat counter (it was 10 22 at the time). Nobody else was in the store. He wouldn't begin the check in process until 10 30am which took until 10 45. Then he told me the wrong truck so the key didn't work and he was so rude to me and didn't apologize, barely acknowledged me. He also didn't explain that someone still need to collect and bring my dolly and blankets to the truck which took an extra 10 minutes. I don't think I have ever had such negative, insulting customer service in my life.

I returned the keys and ask yo check fuek and km, they say they will do it later, and charged me for refuel and i returned it exactly with the same fuel. The van had a broken windshield, and a low air tire

A long way from my local Uhaul

I have rented many Uhaul trucks in the past and this was by far my best Experience. Father and Son small business, very proffessional, very clean, smooth and streamless experience. Very honest and upfront. From the pick up to drop off. I would recommend other outlets that rent UHAUL TRUCKS take some training from this outlet to gain the knowledge and experience this small business has in showing their customers what a rental experience should be like. From beinging to end streamless service. I will definatly go back again and recommend them to my proffessional collegues, friends and family members. I purchased some treats from the store and Tihini on top of this. The store is super clean.

Everything fine with the van, but directions and staff weren’t overly clear, then they charged me collision waver when I declined and said I didnt fill fuel when I did, yet this was 15 litres for 3 miles of use! $32!!! I also extended my 24hr rental by 3 hours, at no point did he make it clear that this was a whole extra days cost, I expected a lot less. Outrageous that an expected $30 rental ended up being $130 with no explanation

The truck had large rips to the metal roof. Causing lots of water to get in when we had to move on a rainy day. I would expect that most U-Haul locations should do more thorough checks of returned equipment because it truly baffles me that they are willing to rent a product out that is kept in such poor condition.

My experience with UHual operators had been great except for this operator. He was intimating when I picked up the van. When I returned the van he tried to charge me an extra $50. He did not convey any information as to the van rental at all.

When I arrived to pick-up my 3 day UHaul rental, at 3216 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC., I was told by Ali the cost of the blanket rental was more than what I had been quoted. According to Ali, I had been quoted incorrectly regarding the cost for blankets. I was told the blankets were at a cost of $5.00 for 6 blankets. I was informed by Ali, the blankets were $15.00 for 6 blankets. I was disapponted by this misinformation and error by the UHaul representative. Furthermore, the truck was not clean, it was full of leaves and I had to ask him to sweep the truck out, which he reluctantly did. When I returned to drop off my 3 day UHaul rental, at 3216 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC., I expected as per my last UHaul rental, that the UHaul representative would inspect the vehicle, check the milage and gas gauge. Upon arriving I was told by Ali, that he was too busy to inspect the vehicle and that I was to leave the key! He was slicing meat in his meat shop and was too busy to attend to me, despite that fact there were no customers in his shop! This situation made me feel very uncomfortable, so I again questioned and requested he escort me to the UHaul to check the vehicle, the milage and gas gauge. Again he informed me he was too busy! He futher stated, he did work for UHaul and would not inspect the vehicle. I again, for a third time, requested he check the vehicle, of which he again informed me he was too busy! I found him to be very unprofessional and uncarig as to my rental of the vehicle and my rental agreement with UHaul.. He did not care to inspect the vehhicle, nor did he have any respect to put me at ease that my rental had been returned in good status. I found this to be very unprofessional and lacked proper business decorum. I was very dissatified.

Check in and receiving the truck were smooth and nice. However dropping off was a complete disaster. This location has 2 super narrow parking spot which are not even good enough for a small car, let alone a 10' truck. I parked the truck in front of their store but they neither accept it nor moved it. They asked me to find another parking spot. So disappointed, although checking in was nice.

U-Haul charged me $16 plus tax for coverage I did not want. My vehicle was not ready on time; I had to wait over one hour, causing me problems with a person from whom I was picking up some furniture. When someone finally appeared at the vehicle pick-up location, he told me me a vehicle would be available soon, and then later told me it would not be available at all, forcing me to use a van that was not suitable for driving. It had a rear window broken and there was glass everywhere. The person said he would sweep it up, but did not. This was a terrible experience overall.
