I really didn't mind driving 30 minutes away to pick up the small trailer, but when I arrived, it would have been nice if the pick-up location offered a restroom for its clients. "We don't have a public restroom" is Not good customer service. Luckily, the Dairy Queen next door had a bathroom. Secondly, the business owner took a couple of calls while we sat and waited. Next time, get a name and number and call them back when it's their turn. And finally, turn down the office TV while conducting business. I normally get my U-Hauls here in Salem, Illinois, at the local hardware store. I hope in the future I don't have to drive so far to pick up and return the trailer.

Brett HHonestly my experience was just about seamless. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name who helped us because it was a truly unexpected emergency that we went through. That man helped us and his customer service and hospitality was excellent. We were able to tow our vehicle from the middle of the country to our destination & we couldn’t have done it without his help and the genuinely good people we met during our time of need. Nick HGary Bradshaw was rude from beginning to end. I called him after I received a voicemail from him and from a representative from U-Haul customer service. I had scheduled my U-Haul pick up online for 7:30am. When I spoke to Gary, he seemed to have an attitude about it. He said, “You can’t pick it up at that time.” After I had already received a call from U-Haul customer service saying that I could. I said, “Oh, online it allowed me to select this time, and I just received a phone call from U-Haul.” He said and I quote, “oh, they don’t know what they are doing. I am not open until 9am.” I said, “Oh, well we really need to get moving by then—“ I was cut off and he did inform me that there was a box that I could pick the key up in. “I said, “Oh okay. I would just use my mobile phone to do the pick up then, right?” (This is the kicker) “Yeah, but most people aren’t smart enough to figure it out. I can leave the key in there the night before.” I just stayed polite and said that I wanted to try it. If I wouldn’t get it open, I would see him at 9am. I thanked him for his time. He did admit in the midst of the conversation that he was not tech savvy. However, it was still unprofessional and his tone was very negative. Guess what… got the box open and I got the key. On returning the truck, our driver stated Gary was rude even then. Maybe Mr. Bradshaw was having a rough year or life...? Not sure, but terrible customer service and would not like to do business with him again. As for U-Haul, the process of going through check in, scheduling online, and the app were flawless. Thank you.

Leslie DMy origan order was a pick up in Salem IL, when I got to the location, I was instructed that I would have to drive more than 25 miles to pick up my order. Then drive another 25 miles back to load my belongings. There was no discount offered for the mix up or even when I was on the phone by someone from U-Haul.

ROBERT KI’ve dealt with company stores and franchises in Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida and Illinois. None have met the bar set by Bradshaw’s of Mt Vernon, Illinois. Great to deal with, excellent interior, outstanding location and easy in/out.

MICHAEL COverall experience not about pick up location: they changed our pick up location a hour out of our way and we was getting to have to back track until I called and fought to have it changed again to a location that we were going to be traveling through. And we had to fight for extra mileage to travel to our destination and then back home. We returned our U-Haul a day early and we didn’t get any money back. 😡

David EGary Bradshaw went over and above to assist me with getting the best rental truck for what I needed. He came to the hotel and picked me up on a Sunday, even though his office was closed to get the truck. He also had a friend of his come from over an hour away to help me load the truck. It is people like him that make me have faith, and glad I rented from U Haul. Please make sure you have him recognized for the exceptional person he is.

Norman OHte husband and wife did everything they could to be helpful with checking in the equipment. I wish UHaul gave money BACK for returning the truck with a gas overage! It is hard to estimate how much gas to get when you are driving cross-country AND Google Maps sends you thru 1-horse towns instead of freeways!
Lisa BU-Haul is a joke, tried to make me travel 1.5 hrs to do returns when there was 7 nails within 11 miles. Then to top it off charged me to drop off near me. U-Haul has lost my business. Rented 5 times last 2 months. Corporate America at its finest, out to screw renters

tom rThe U-Haul Mobile application was very troublesome. The original intended Pickup location 500 Meadowbrook has not one to assist during the time of pick up on at Saturday morning, the application was not able to get my location no matter what. The executive at 512 Broadway Street, Mount Vernon , IL was more than helpful to accommodate my requirement for a Vehicle. Thanks to them for being professional and available in the time of need. They made the experience pleasant which would have been an ultimate failure otherwise. Mobile application was unable to read my location even during drop off.

Anton AThey added a $15 insurance charge that they did not ask me if I wanted. I know it’s not a lot of money but it was added to my bill without my permission. When I called them they wouldn’t refund it.

I were able to return the trailer after normal business hours and the owner assisted me immediatly. I will ALWAYS reserve from Bradshaw's!

James ZThe back of the U-Haul smelled horrible like a nasty wet dog. There was a lot of dog hair. I only had the U haul about four hours as I only needed to go to a nearby town to move a couple things. I feel to be charged $141 was excessive especially considering how nasty the back of U-Haul was.
