KELLY HOpen case currently, vehicle transport was given to me with no brake fluid. Could not complete what I needed to use the trailer for and there was dramatic impact to the brakes on my truck, causing issues with my personal tow vehicle that requires me to get parts replaced and service performed. I added fluid on the side of the road to try and make it safer to return the trailer. When I returned to let the location know the issue they brushed me off "thats not our problem, call haul" "it was fine this morning" my main goal was to let them know so they could inspect the trailer before sending it out again but they didnt care.
FRANCISCO CInside cab was dirty.Windshield, windows and side mirrors were very dirty inside and out making it very difficult to see in the afternoon light.

Jay MI reserved a truck at the Carlsbad location and was called to go to San Marcis. I never signed a contract to pay per mile.it was supposed to be 39.00 for 4 hours. I rented a truck a few months back from the Cougar location and they did not charge me per mile. I never would have rented the truck if I had to pay that much per mile. I was misled and did not sign a contract at the San Marcis location. I had the truck for 5 hours and was charged 215.00 and put 55.00 in gas. I would like refund for 180.00. Thank you

DAVID AAfter reviewing contract, post return the store uncharged me the insurance fee when I opted out at my reservation . and I didn't sign to authorize the extra insurance and the shop sneaked it in without telling me
GABRIEL ENeeding to call a random person to verify me is ridiculous. I have been a customer for over 10 renting yearly if not multiple times per year. I provided pictures of my license and well as a selfie and I still couldnt rent without uhaul bothering someone I know. If there was potential criminal activity, they could always provide another criminals details.
Matthew ACalled from a competitor after getting the runaround and called the Via Vera Cruz location and was met on the phone with enthusiasm and an assurance that they had what I needed and a reasonable price and I was happy I chose them.

Ralph MI was charged $50 for not folding the moving blankets that I paid for. Am I supposed to fold dirty moving blankets/pads? Also, the cleaning fee is $25, not sure how they decided on $50. The truck wasn’t dirty, just had the moving blankets. This feels like bad business practice and I would not recommend this location to anyone. I just drove from UT to San Marcos. Thanks.
DANIEL GVERY POOR SERVICE I’ve been renting U-Haul trucks for the past 7 years around all US and this location tried to take advantage from me 3 times! Be careful with the extra fee charges, if you don’t pay attention the old long beard man in the front desk will charge you for cleaning fee or simple saying that you’re bringing the truck with less gas!!!! Avoid this place or if there’s any other option closer just take a photo of your dashboard before start your business and be safe!!!! SCAM SCAM
Diego NThe trailer was dirty. After loading at my house, I noticed one of the tires has low air pressure. I inspected the tire and on the inner part of the tire is was worn and bloating in places. I had to call to have it replaced. The mechanic had to fill the other three tires as they were also low on pressure.

Susan RVehicle is not in good condition, transmission system failed, tire montor system failed. Engine don't increase the speed from stopping, how hard you press Gas, make loud noise, until it catches speed 25, it's due to auto transmission failed, I am afraid any minute it will break down, i am in tight schedule, so I carefully driven the vehicle at very low-speed. They are not do maintenance of vehicle. This is last time I will fo to this place.
SATYANARAYANA VThe initial mileage was recorded 80 miles less than what was shown on the dashboard. AND the initial gasoline level was recorded 1/4 tank higher than what was shown on the dashboard. I corrected both numbers on the online check-in system with pictures upload. But the wrong information stayed. In the end, I was charged 80 miles and 1/4 tank of gas more than my actual use. I called back to the location and they can only refer me back to UHAUL customer service.
KANG DThis van had so much trash and debris and dirt in it that my sister and I had to take out the whole entire mat out of the back just to sweep it out. It was very gross. You can tell this thing had not been cleaned at all whatsoever on the inside or the outside. So I paid close to $200 for a dirty van, but I returned it clean with a full tank..

BRANDON RI could not “unload” my vehicle from the car carrier due to policy. I don’t understand how else I would return the equipment unless I had someone follow me. The place was hard to find and hard to get to.

CHAD CWe rented a truck and trailer and when we arrived to pick up both, we were told we had to pay $60 plus tax to get a tow hitch. How are we expected to rent a truck and trailer and not be given a tow hitch to connect the two together That didn’t seemed right and a lot of money we did not plan on spending. We called U-Haul right away and still have not been reimbursed for this amount. Not happy about this experience

MATHEW AGreat customer service. My only complaint is that U-Haul should state that customer pays for gas. The $19.95 a day plus $.89 a mile led me to believe that the $.89 included the cost of the gas. Employees were very nice, friendly, helpful and made me feel welcomed as a customer.
DAVID AThe receipt for our drop off was completed after and included a charge for something that I thought was in error. After further contact it was resolved and we are content with the results.

Sherry CI had reserved the same size trailer from the Vista location.a week earlier, but when I went to pick it up, the attendant had given it to someone else. That is why I had to go to San Marcos to get a trailer from them! For this reason I was very unhappy with the service I received from your Vista location. If you like better reviews, please do not send people on moving day to a different City to pick up a reserved product!
DON CThis is very small and probably not needed, but when EVERYTHING was so well done, it was the only thing I could think of: There are two windows at this location, One window is for shop services and the other for UHAUL. I think a big sign in UHAUL font and colors saying "UHAUL HERE" would be good because it doesn't feel like you walked into the right place at first. The Owner very nice and politely just said to use the other window, so no issue there. Just an idea.

GEORGE IThe guys were nice but couldn't seem to rent out the truck correctly on their system. It took an hour+ just for pickup and they had to run my card multiple times because something with the tech wasn't showing it correctly and I just had to wait and wait. It was a frustrating way to start a moving day.
