Get the app before you pick up the vehicle, it will be faster for you. Also, there won't always be personnel on site but you can check in and out anyway with the app.
Adriana BThe location worked well. My issue is that I made the reservation, got a call and was told that location didn't have the size truck I wanted. When I went to pick up the bigger size that I agreed to, I had to call UHAUL for help because the app didn't have a truck assigned to me. The site did have a truck in the size I needed and the person on the phone assigned the truck. I drove it to my house and the truck was loaded. Once loaded, the truck would not start. The movers through UHAUL were fantastic and tried to help get the truck started. I had to get roadside assistance to come, the movers timed out and I didn't have help on the unloading side. I ended up losing the rest of my work day because I had to wait for roadside assistance, then unload the whole truck on my own, and then return it. The truck was clean but I shouldn't have been stranded with a truck. And it shouldn't have taken so long to use your system to pick up a truck I reserved.
Kathy EThe vehicle was dirty, and they charged me for cleaning it, and it only had 4 miles of fuel, and they also charged me for that, even though I went to put fuel in it and left it with much more fuel than it had, I only used it 8 miles and they charged me a lot for bad service. terrible service.
Wladimir DVery strange pick up process, but it was quick and the man was kind and quick. The process involved calling an off-site person who confirmed with the man on-site that we had completed the online required payment and check in. Equipment was clean, no delay with trucks or cars blocking the rental vehicle

Tommy WI spent over an hour trying to connect with someone to help find a vehicle replacement as the vehicle I was scheduled was not on the site. It was fine and replaced after multiple phone calls and issues connecting to a customer service agent.

You have to do the check in online and it’s wifi was so slow, it’s required a couple of scanning but nothing go through and waiting for approval to pick up was forever. It took 45 minutes to finalize everything online. Wasted my time!!! They should have send out instructions to notify me ahead that this was how it should be done in advance so I can prepare more time!!!
KIMMEE LOscar (on phone) was helpful. However, not having a Uhaul Cust. Service agent on site is very inconvenient. Did not receive instructions that I needed to go on an app when I returned the truck to check out and avoid $ 20 fee. This resulted in 4 tel. calls after the fact to make sure this fee was not charged. (I returned the truck at 6:30 when due at 7.) Also, as I told Oscar, floors of cab and storage area had not been cleaned.
Christopher KIt was not clear that I had to call a number that’s written on a sign that looked unprofessional. The app to check van in & out kept crashing… wasted an hour waiting for call back.
Victor OTruck was clean and drop off was easy. Getting the U-Haul was not easy, I arrived at 3pm for my pickup, was told that I didn’t have a truck at first. It turns out the person before me had been running late after calling the area dealer. Had to wait over an hour to get my truck. Would try to avoid this location if possible. Had they offered a discount for the wait I would have given a better review.
Samuel RI was charged a return after hours fee. The only problem with the place I returned to is they had left at 1:30 p.m. I returned my truck at 2:00 p.m. I didn't have the app downloaded which I didn't know I needed to to make an app online check-in. I dropped the keys but yet was still charged for a late return. You might want to remember that a lot of people can't download the app or do things online. Might be the last time I went from that location or U-Haul, which I've done many times. Annoying that I have to install an app and make a password just for this. We'll spread the word about this type of service.
Timothy JThis is not a bad review for this location but rather a review for U-Haul. Despite my rental agreement to return the vehicle at the same location, I was required to return the vehicle 3 miles away because there was not room at my pickup location. Very frustrating and wasted an hour and a half of my day.

Slawomir Wu-Haul is always very great at this location and always has a truck or a van available. My issue is not with the truck or vans or the location or anything, but it’s just the pricing that’s a lot literally a van for two hours and it was almost $80 than that Everything usually goes great.
Michelle RI had no idea what I was walking into. Thought it was a regular pickup location, but since it wasn't we had to go through extra steps that were frustrating, but understood why. Went to get the keys only to find out they weren't in the box and the guy running the auto place kept them in his pocket. Also, no pre-check for the van or anything else was done either. Very chicago etiquette, which I love, but wasn't in the mood for.
Simon DWebsite states open at 9am, but facility was open at 8am. I declined insurance from uhaul, but was charged for insurance.

Salvatore DCheck out app did not allow me to make the following comments when writing up the state of the equipment: a) driver’s side headlamp burnt out. This was discovered at nightfall. Police stopped me and issued verbal warning. This should have been fixed at U-Haul location. b) driver’s side door not closing properly and needed to be slammed hard to secure it.

Bicentay LRenting this van for a simple short-term move was a nightmare on multiple fronts. Every step took was inefficient, wasted so much of my time, was extremely frustrating and I was never able to speak with someone who could actually help me with my problems. I will never rent from U-Haul again.

BORIS CI had to wait to 45 minutes to get my Uhaul when I showed up on time to pick it up. They do not have an efficent system for pickup and I completed all of the pre work onlime. Upon arrival, I was told I had to call a number that was handwritten on a sign to get the trck. The guy at that number wasn't acailabe. The owner if the service statiion said he couldn't get the key without talking to the guy. Finally the phone number became avialable, the guy said to release the jey, and the owner of the service station jist takes it out of his feont shirt pocket and hands it to me after telling me for 45 minutes that he didn't have it.I drove the truck a total of 20 miles. I put two gallons if gas in before I returned and was charged for 4 gallons of gas. Not an overall positive experience.
Kyle LThe APP Uhaul pick-up process was very smooth and the Bryn Mawr & Kedzie location was easy to access! Only minor comment is that I would have liked more of a warning that APP pick-up is required at this specific location and that completing this online check-in and pickup would take 20-30 minutes. Maybe I missed this when renting, but I think this detail should be provided. I was on a time crunch and didn't anticipate the APP check in.

Kevin CThe price of the van was very good. I chose to get the insurance as well. What surprised me was the add ons at the end of the bill. I was not expecting taxes and usage. I thought that I was paying for the van on a set daily basis and the the mileage added to that, not5hing more. so I was a bit surprised by that. Other than that all went very well.
Rita FUnfortunately, we had a very difficult experience with this rental. Most of the issues were due to the app/logging in after hours to check in and out of the rental, causing a 45 minute delay being able to access the truck. The truck was also missing a furniture dolly. Most of the issues were due to app login, although customer service was helpful when we were able to contact them. Issues below: - couldn't complete the driver verification process using the app or the website for the first 30-40 minutes due to the app and website kicking us back to the home screen every time we wanted to start the rental process - couldn't access the live chat function due to the app continually refreshing out of the live chat so it was hard to get help - calling the help line by phone was difficult because the system was not responding to selecting "1" "2" or "3" as an option when prompted by the automated voice instructions so we couldn't get live help - checking out was similarly difficult using the app and website, and the website actually logged us out of the app before we were able to complete all the steps for check out, and would not list our rental in our rental history so we could not get help on the rental as well That being said, the customer support team was great when we were able to get a hold of them, it was just being able to reach them which was the issue. My recommendation would be to pickup during operating hours and avoid using mobile check-in when possible. We tried accessing the app on both apple and android phones and had huge difficulties just being able to access our information.
John CFantastic experience! The whole thing was automated, quick and really easy. I had a call from a friend who needed help moving. Within 20 minutes I was able to secure a truck, dolly and moving blankets. Uhaul saved the day. I will be using you exclusively from now on. Thanks for the great service!

Eddie BWhere is the receipt for my rental? I only went 6 miles; does my total reflect this? Why do you send a review when I have not received my receipt? The man at this station was pretty rude and not very helpful. I had to go back home to finish checking in after I was told I would not have to do it myself. This is not convenient. What if I lived farther away or had a disability or the weather was terrible?

Melisa AAbsolutely disgusting and disgraceful experience. Instead of providing a clean truck, the manager asked if I wanted a broom to clean all the debris left behind myself (it shouldn't be their problem, but the last renter didn't clean the equipment at all, leaving used COVID PPE behind in the driver's cabin, etc.). The furniture protections I ordered were not provided and the manager didn't have any on site. I will never use UHaul again after this experience--might as well try a different service or Task Rabbit, see if that's any better!

Daniel MOnly because I’ve used the uhaul at ravenwood and Devon and the one on Broadway in uptown. It wasn’t. Dirty dirty. But - it was dusty. Like no one had run a rag over the dash in a minute. And the window was full of Icy snow. So I had to go back to my car to get the snow scraper. And I had to ask someone working at the business to move their car so I could more easily get out of the tight spot. And I was surprised it was an employees and not a customers. They were really nice. But it seemed odd to park somewhere that makes the vehicles hard to back out. I guess I was appreciative of the full tank and that they had a vehicle. My first attempt my guaranteed reservation had no vehicle assigned and no business open for help. I’m looking forward to my fifty dollars cuz it cost me an extra 45 minutes and the time wasn’t even adjusted for drop off.

thongwan lThis isn't the location I reserved a truck for. I had to walk a mile out of my way (literally, as the location I tried reserving was at the storage unit I needed to move items to) so I didn't want to go there at all.

Roberto GThe vehicle was not clean - interior of cab had drink cups, mcdonalds wrappers and a pack of cigarettes inside as well as other debris. The rear of the vehicle was also uncleaned and had broken glass, earings and string throughout. The staff had trouble in understanding where or how many blankets i was to receive with my order - despite me being clear and presenting my reservation. this was very time consuming and it took almost 1 hour to get checked in for a process that should have taken less than 10 minutes..

Andrew WWe chose the location we did b/c online it said it was a staffed location. I even left work early to get there before they closed. When we got there, 'the guy who does that' was off for the day. We had to wait through phone calls and wound up having to register online, anyway (which we'd been hoping to avoid - to keep things simple). There were hand trucks and moving blankets strewn in the back of the truck (which we did not order), and the cab of the truck smelled like smoke. Then I wasn't able to check the truck back in online once I'd gotten home from dropping the truck off, because there'd been no warning about the bar code. It was all pretty frustrating, but at least we were able to get a truck and do what we needed (which I've seen can be a problem at other locations - so our expectations weren't sky-high, hence the 'average' rating, rather than 'poor'). VERY glad we didn't need the whole space, or those hand trucks and blankets would have been a real problem. As it was, we just left them to the side and ignored them.
