I arrived right at 9am (when the Uhaul portion of the business opened) to drop off my 4 day rental for 9:10am. No one was there. One mechanic was working in the garage so finally at around 9:10/9:15am I just left the key with him. Later that day I got an invoice charging me for 1 extra day even though I was there well before my drop time. As well, the rental parking lot was several minutes away from the office. The parking was very sketchy, garbage, old clothes, personal belongings strewn all over the place.Andrew H.

You need to get rid of towniste road drop off. I was verbal abused, as well as pushed and called vulgar names. I will never en't from uhaul again and I have rented from you alot. I was given no compensation for my troubles. I took my tru k back to bulletproof after being told he would t take my truck back on his lot and wouldn't tell me where to drop off I found bulletproof myselfSharmon P.

Amber was amazing. I travelled a long way to move things after years of storage to my new home. I had many stops in different towns and scheduling was tight. I was running late for picking up the trailer and Amber waited and stayed open for me. Long past her closing time she assisted us, hooked up and smiled the whole time. It could have been disastrous. There are a number of locations in Nanaimo and each rents out different vehicles and also have different hours for service. I had difficulty finding this location for a 20' truck and went to two others first who directed me to Bulletproof. This location was very helpful. Trying to fill in a one way trip for more than two days was impossible to do on line so I was very grateful for the booking assistance from the assistant at Bulletproof.IMELDA C.
When I called about dropping off the 15' truck I was told to bring it in. But there was no space to park. I was told it needed to be parked "around the corner." Finally the woman in charge emerged and took care of this, but not before being told by the company next door (where I temporarily parked) that they did not appreciate their lot being used for this purpose.Ian G.

The lady at the Nanaimo location failed to tell me that the 15" truck I rented was classified as a commercial vehicle, which meant I lost my reservation I made, and I had to pay double the ferry cost. Would've been nice to know so I could've budgeted that in for my move to KelownaJohn N.

Improve the system of getting a vehicle. I purchased a vehicle online and I went to the location that was sent, and they didn't even have the vehicle that I payed for and had to get something that I didn't want. Then the process of paying for the vehicle took over an hour because the UHaul site kept restarting. I won't pay for another UHaul again.Cameron G.
I did not pick up a trailer at this location!! However the trailer I did pick up did not have functioning tail or marker lights and although I spent a LONG time on the phone with your â€œ helpâ€ centre, the lights were never repaired. I had to drive for several hours after dark with my emergency 4-way flashers operating. Then when I returned the trailer to the location where I picked it up and at the agreed time and date, there was no one either in the office or on the lot, which was littered with many returned trucks and trailers so I dropped off the trailer and too a date/time stamped picture as proof of drop-off. Later I was told by your dispatch centre that you had received the trailer and all was OK! Imagine my shock and outrage when a charge from Uhaul appeared on my Visa dated Aug 2nd for $739.20! So to say the least this rental has not been satisfactory in any way! I sent an email yesterday to 845003_AFM@uhaul.com but So far have not received any reply!!BILL M.

Well the people should check if gas gage is right someone stole gas and blame me saying i should had returned it but was to late when i noticed gas cap was off then i checked gas level was below e instead of 3/4 tank.So inconvenient to have to gas up then had to be back by 2 was there 2 30 cause ended up to be alone to finish unlaoading and shop was closed called left a message and did call and leave a message to when found out it was on e and no responce or never called back.so.on door sayd back 9 am assume back on sunday 9 am so went back sunday was closed so could only return keys after work on monday hope they dont try to charge me for those days that be ridiculouse cause it was a head hack and lots of wast of gas and time plus gas was below empty i left it abit above empty coted more money for gas then it should have so disapointed in that but hope it be better next timechris B.

This took two hours out of our moving time which meant we were moving into the wee hours of the morning. There should be stricter rules for people returning the trucks on time.Soleila E.

The woman commented about my booking was for 8:30, I showed up at 9:30. I told her that the website would only allow me to book for 8:30. When I arrived at the office my truck was not ready for me. She had to go to the lot where they keep their trucks, clean it and check the milage. I went on your website to reserve the truck and make my " check in in half the time". BULLISH Not only did I have to wait for the truck I had to wait while she entered my information into my account. 1 HOUR later I had my truck. The truck itself was clean and it had comfortable seats. The most frustrating thing about renting the truck was whoever I talked to, No one could tell me how much fuel the truck took. The woman in the office finally showed the liters the truck held. After I had guessed the amount. I'm a senior and my budget is tight. If it was not for my son paying for some of the gas I would have been unable to refuel the truck. FYI it takes 106 liters of gas for a full tank.Rebecca C.

This isn't directly a complaint about my drop off location. My complaint is with uhaul. Uhaul honestly made my move more challenging, I was told false information on more than one occasion which resulted in me spending more money and also not having any storage avaliable for my things. I will not be using uhaul again, nor would I recommend this to anyone. I would tell them to pay a bit more for a budget truck.Frank H.

I rented 3 cube truck trucks in just over a week. Both times overcharged for the amount of $190 ish. These cube trucks didn't even leave Nanaimo. The third time ( yesterday ) my guys showed up, then went to there separate yard to which the cubes are actually parked. My guys found out there is nothing in the tank. So we wasted more time waiting for them to bring a jerry can worth of fuel, after all this waiting and screwing around my guys left an hour late. They were off to parksville as to when the cube truck completely broke down on them, after desperate calls to this location and uhaul it took them an hour to get ahold of someone that could help. Now being hours late MY customer cancelled on me which was over a $2000 job.. which my guys are stuck dead on the highway. Where did the problem start? Not following uhual policy's. As someone that has booked uhauls for years. There is ALWAYS a before and after walkthrew to note damages,fuel level, the kms etc.... and since I was overcharged due to â€œ kms â€œ clearly they don't follow this policy. And to secure my opinion on this the tank was dry ( yesterday ) which proves my point as to why this company is completely not equipped to rent uhauls as there office is over a block away and the yard itself is empty with no one there to follow these checks once trucks are dropped off. I have never been so pissed off in my life. Almost $400 in the first two rentals and another 200 in this recent one yesterday and a cancelled job which made me lose $20000 and a dead truck on the highway. I then had to pay for another cube to go to this dead truck and transfer over all our supply's and I had to pay someone to pick 3 guys up in the cube truck as they were stranded with over an hour wait time to receive help, after already making calls for an hour to get help. I'm very disappointed and I'm going to take my complaints further if no fair agreement is made as I just lots a shit ton of money due to this unprofessional businessBrandon A.

I booked a 15 foot moving truck, they said it was in stock, when i got there they only had a 10 foot one for me to use which really screwed up my move. I had to go back to Nanaimo from Kelowna toget my last few things that would have fit in the 15. I also paid for boxes and then they did not provide themjeremy P.
