Ants in vehicle. Worn back tires in vehicle so vehicle was spinning out of driveway. Unsafe tires due to lack of maintenance. Unfriendly assistance when picking up vehicle. No inspection done of vehicle prior which would have been important for safety reasons. I should not have assumed vehicles were maintained. Ants in cab of vehicle on dashboard. This location was out of the way . I feel this was ridiculous, having to drive to this location when there should have been one closer. I later found out this location should not have been provided to me when there were several closer. I plan to file a complaint with the B.B.B.ronald R.

After wiping the interior of the UHAUL with sanitizing wipes, before putting my belongings inside, I found that they were covered in dirt. This honestly was quite disgusting in my opinion, and the cupholders had a sticky residue in them.Jackson C.

The truck kept making a high, pitched squealing sound between 40 - 60 miles per hour. This was very annoying and not part of a usual driving experience. I was told it just came back from the shop. It was also given to me with 1/4 tank instead of a full tank which is unusual. When I called to inquire about the truck's strange consistent noise, the response I got was, "trucks make noise." I've driven many u-hauls and this was not a normal truck noise. It made the moving experience obnoxious and annoying.Jeff A.

For scheduling U-Haul rental equipment for availability at a specific date and time, do not promise availability at facilities with extremely limited inventory such as Golden State Storage - Camarillo, CA. I scheduled a move using U-Haul equipment (15 foot truck) that U-Haul promised to be available at 1:00 PM, and had paid personal available at both the pick-up and destination locations of the scheduled move. The U-Haul rental was not available at the promised location and time as the previous renter was scheduled for a 1:00 PM equipment return and did not appear . Even if the previous renter returned the equipment at 1:00 PM, the Truck could not be available at the promised 1:00 PM as a meaningful Safety and Damage Inspection would require a minimum of 15 minutes, assuming no issues/problems were encountered which would required hours or days to correct. My schedule was blown, and my paid personal were paid an extra hour of overtime to wait until a Truck could be found and available at Camarillo U-Rent. Camarillo U-Rent understands equipment rental; the facility (Golden State Storage - Camarillo) U-Haul promised to have U-Haul equipment available only understands storage units.Greg F.
I just realized I was overcharged $60. I rented it for two days and tried to return at the end of the second day but the yard was locked up before their stated closing time of 5:00 (not warned of COVID closure at 4:00) After waiting on hold for about 20 minutes in front of the yard to see how to return after hours I drove home. They finally answered and said I could return it the next day by 9:00 without penalty. I was about 30 minutes late and charged for the additional day and three days rent of a dozen pads (I never even opened the 6 pads locked up in the back of the truck). Guess I need to read the fine print before leaving this office. Anyways, the 26' truck rides like a tank and is brutal on the crappy LA freeways. And this truck has seen 164,000 mikes of use. Not too surprising the check engine light came on about 50 miles into my 260 mile adventure.Daniel R.

Staff and location were great. The truck itself should have been better. The windshield was so filthy it was difficult to see and the wipers were so old they were peeling apart and useless. Power steering fluid must have been low as the truck moaned and hissed every time I turned the wheel.GREGORY P.
I will NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND ANY U-HAUL LOCATION to anyone after this horrible rental experience. This is the LAST time I will ever use U-HAUL , and I have been renting trucks for years. The company doesn't seem to have its act together, and the customer suffers as a result. I am outraged and disgusted with U-HAul's customer service. Very, disappointed and so wish I had used Budget or Penske. Any future rentals will be with another comapny.James W.

The interior of the truck I rented was covered in ants. Not thousands of ants, but definitely a hundred or two that were within eye sight. Far too many to make me feel comfortable. I did the best I could to try and clean it but they just kept coming out of nowhere.James L.
My overall experiences was poor! I rented a truck from Ventura office. Which was switched to the Oxnard office a couple days before pick up. When I arrived at the Oxnard location they did not have the truck. They tried to call a couple of people and were unsuccessful and then eventually found a truck in Camarillo. Now I had to have my wife drive me to Camarillo to pick up truck. Not a very good experience at all.David S.
Had originally reserved a 6x12 trailer for local pick up in Simi Valley. 2 days before scheduled they moved the pick up location to Santa Barbara which was way too far to be workable. Fortunately after some searching they were able to find the 15' truck in Camarillo. Not close by but workable. I requested a discounted rate which they agreed to plus they threw in extra miles for our trip to Bishop. Unfortunately we still had to pay for extra miles partly due to driving from Camarillo rather than Simi Valley. Overall the experience worked out as we probably needed the extra room in the 15' truck. However the short notice on rescheduling this very big move for us was frustrating to say the least.Allan S.

The U-Haul was filthy inside and outside. The people at the store we're not helpful at all when I had questions I had to go find them to get them answered no one walked out to the U-Haul to inspect it with me either. I paid over $600 to rent that U-Haul to drive it one way to Arizona and I felt completely ripped off with this filthy truck. Very disappointing and I will not be renting from them again.Kathleen T.
