Canton Motors was worth 10 stars. Uhaul inventory system gets Zero stars. 1st reservation for a trailer was made online for a Canton pickup/dropoff. Corporate Uhaul office changed my reservation to corporate location that would have sent me in the wrong direction and added 100 miles and 2 extra hours to my trip even though I gave them 3 weeks to get a trailer to the location I requested (as the advertise they will do.) I called I was told by Uhaul Fargo that Canton Motors didn't have the trailer I reserved. They authorized the charges on my card without my permission and set me a text that might easily have been tagged a junk. I called to get it changed back to Canton pickup/drop off and I was basically told the change my plans or take a chance that a trailer might be where I needed it and call the morning of day I need it. The fact that I need a rental trailer clearly shows that resources and schedules have to be arranged and the idea I would be able to "fly standby" says Uhaul is not in tune about how and why their customers rent trailers. I cancelled the reservation. That same afternoon I drove past Canton motors and there sat the exact trailer I reserved and was told by Uhaul Fargo was not there. I called Canton motors directly and they said the trailer was available and the immediately offered to reserve the trailer for me and enter it into the Uhaul system. He had to make several calls and was told the inventory didn't indicate the trailer was in that location even though he was looking right at it. His contact at Uhaul told him they would change their inventory so he made the reservation. Uhaul didn't change the inventory, they just moved my pickup and drop off location AGAIN. Justin worked for 2 weeks to get Uhaul to fix it and it took until the day before I needed the trailer and more calls for Justin to make it happen, but he called me (more calls for him) to keep me informed. I am sure Justin lost money on this rental because of all the time Uhaul wasted for him. If I were him, I would tell Uhaul to take a hike and find someone else that will be willing to waste their time on Uhaul rentals when Uhaul can't seem to keep track of inventory, fix it when its wrong and understand that customer time, energy and fuel is not theirs to waste. Uhaul has 2 strikes in my book. I will think twice before I rent from them again, but Justin and Canton motors will have my business in the future.

South of Sioux Falls, just off the interstate I 29 and you don’t have to deal with the busy streets and traffic of downtown Sioux Falls. We will definitely use this rental pickup location again.
