U-Haul was the problem. I reserved for app pickup as the place was closed after 6. I was moved to this location. The rep assured me I could use the app. They were not correct and thank goodness the location was open bc they stayed late. U-Haul sucks. The rep on the phone just yesd me to get off the phone. And when someone rents a truck it's important. No one rents a truck to play around with it or go for a scenic drive. If they didn't stay late for me myself and my family would have been screwed. I've been renting from U-Haul for years now. Everything from a truck to towing my motorcycle. I'm legit starting to look at Luther businesses after this last rental.Donald B.
I was not provided with the dolly or furniture Mat I requested. It was also charged to my account and I had to contact uhaul to have the charges dropped. There should be a section of the app for verifying equipment or add ons. Over all the truck was great and in good condition.Marc F.

Uhaul bounced me to another location a few days before my rental. Only notification was email and luckily I noticed the change in location - no other indication i was being moved. I had requested a van with furniture dolly and hand truck. When I got there - the location said they don't have those items and never do and have requested Uhaul not use them as a location when customers request them. On the phone, on hold, for 35 minutes trying to get someone who can redirect me to a uhaul that had them. Bounced around to Raleigh (not my location) who said they could not help because - well - not my location. Back on hold, rinse and repeat. Ultimately i had to go buy a dolly from a store to use - no hand truck. Absolute terrible experience with zero thought to meeting complete customer needs - yes, a hand truck and dolly are very often MUST HAVEs in a move. Get your act together Uhaul - its a pretty simple business model.DAVIDB S.

Truck was not even available thurs when we needed it we called weds to verify it would be there we were told it would be. So I flew our from Texas to get the truck. And it wasn't there. Wasted money on Uber, caused me extra money in hotels and over 2 hours of my time waiting on uhaul customer service telephonically since no one was at the location to help. Forgot to put the keys in the drop off box; had to wait hours for the location to open for the day and drive back 30 mins away from our house to go pick up the U-Haul. Needed a tool to get the gas cap off... someone had put it on so tight, I had to go to the dealer to get it off... THEN go back out and add gas to get around the fee. This is a terrible design.HUGH D.

Car N Go is an excellent UHaul Center. The UHaul App had glitches, for some reason the android phone app worked for some pictures and not others in both the pick-up drop-off process (frustrating). However after chat feature advice I used the website through the phone and this worked very well. Next time will skip the app and use website.Stephen D.

Even though I reserved 6 furniture blankets and a dolly online, none were available when I picked up the truck. This caused me to have to drive to another UHaul just to get the blankets and dolly. Not only did I have to go out of my way, the other Uhaul was busy so it added at least an hour to my rental time. If someone reserves items online, they should be available when picking up a truck. The second UHaul was awesome (6101 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23225). They transferred the blankets over to Car N Go so I didn't have to return them. Going forward, I will use the Midlothian Tpk. UHaul instead of Car N Go, even though it is further from my home.Matthew F.

When I got there I was informed I had to load and strap my car onto the trailer myself, which I had never done so I felt uncomfortable doing that, because they said they were not certified to do so. They then asked if I had a friend to call when I said I did not know how to do that, which I did not because I was new to the area. The one employee (who was vaping the entire time) and myself did get the car on the trailer eventually. There is absolutely no reason for a company to offer towing and trailer services and have their employees tell the customers to figure it out themselves because they can't do it. We then noticed the right side brake and blinker lights were not working, so they told me to bring it to the main location on Midlothian turnpike, which was another 15 minutes out of my way to get it fixed on the spot. When I got there I told the one employee the situation, and that they'd fix it right away. He was very confused and angry at the employee who sent me there because apparently they're not supposed to do that. He was great and did fix it immediately which I was very thankful for. That whole experience made my trip very uneasy and nerve wracking, and if I move again I will be very hesitant to use U-Haul because I don't want uncertified and unqualified employees to put my car and belongings in jeopardy by not fully knowing how to perform an action they should know extensively.Jack R.

Interior of truck was clear of debris, but was covered with dirt and drink spills, even during COVID-19; not wiped down. There were no boxes or other moving materials in the "store" which was basically an office. Rented 6 moving blankets, but they were not in the truck. No masks being worn inside until I kept mine on and when I returned there were none. Very nice and friendly, but somewhat lazy personnel.Elizabeth D.

Kim was great. But the fees that are charged are too high. Let me explain in most other storages there is no fee for a lock, you put your own lock on your unit. The insurance fee is not necessary because you never pay if the unit it destroy or broken into. I have asked many times for a reduction and it was minimal. You may alot of money off of me during the time from February 2020 until August 24th, 2020. I would not come back or recommend you to friends. I do think that Kim was very helpful and a wonderful individual. You keep money if a client moves out a week in advance which is unprofessional and unethical practice.Wayne W.

I had to call roadside assistance for the vehicle I rented twice. First for overeating where the coolant hose broke off, poured smoke into the cabin of the vehicle and leaked into the parking lot. The second time was to jumpstart the battery stemming from coolant spilling onto the terminals.Michael M.

My first contact was with Smarts Towing,Inc. at 12910 Genito Road, Midlothian,VA 23112, I originally scheduled a 10' truck, but the day before pickup I realized I had undersized my needs.I visited the above location but found that they did not have a 15' truck. Crystal, at Smarts, searched her computer and found one nearby and reserved it for me. In my opinion she went above and beyond to satisfy my needs, and did it with a smile. I would definitely deal with her in the future!James Y.
