I have not had a good experience. My rental was not checked causing it to be overdue. Then I was hit with a 350 mile over the limit bill at 1.00 mile. I have not had such a bad experience. I am reassured things will be fixed by nice helpful people on the phone. Once this problem gets fixed great. But I would never go to this drop off location again ever. And this is where I was told to drop it off by U-Haul. I am not a happy customer.

HELEN GMy experience was terrible. I arrived to pick up my uhaul and a non -uhaul employee at the desk said that the person in charge of uhaul left for the day for multiple dr appointments . The man said “oh were you the 9:00 appointment ? He left “ My appointment was scheduled for a 9:30 pickup and we arrived at 9:40 due to traffic. My family and I woke up at 6:30 a.m and drove from Clermont FL , and because the uhaul representative wasn’t available , we had to use the online uhaul portal, delaying our trip another 30 minutes as we had to wait for verification online. The location housing the uhaul was hard to navigate and took up back behind bushes where our uhaul was next to a gate that said “beware, alligators poisonous snakes and spiders. We were finally on our was with the uhaul at approx 10:20, with a gas tank that was left with less than half a tank. Once we arrived to the storage unit , we realised the moving dolly wasn’t in the van, making it difficult to move our heavy furniture . The whole experience was awful and I would never recommend this company to anyone in the future.

GREGORY WThe rental place where I picked up the truck was perfectly fine. The issue I have is that U-Haul themselves called me five minutes before I was supposed to pick up a truck and switched locations. The location that I picked up the truck was out to lunch for an hour and a half and I had to sit and wait because he wasn’t aware that he had a reservation coming in the original location that I booked the truck was two minutes from my home, and I drove by that location and there was a 26 footer sitting there. I’m not sure why U-Haul changed locations last minute, but it was a giant inconvenience and a waste of time. I am never using U-Haul again due to my experience.

Anesh BThe guy was rude on the phone , He was rude in person.!! The truck we rented was located in a backwooded lot. On the other side of a car dealership, he didn't go get the truck for us threw us the keys and we were on our own. Doesn't seem like the kind of person that wants to be in the u haul business! When we return, the truck never really made eye contact at all. And we told him where the truck was parked, and asked him, was he going to put the truck back and his response was, unfortunately, I guess so.
GREGG CIf you are looking for a personable experience, this not the place. While the attendant was't abrupt, he was a bit blunt. The truck was parked back in the lot behind a very large puddle. The floor board was dirty, probably from someone walking through the puddle. I swept the truck bed out before I started loading. I understand that rentals was not the primary business for this place but it should at least be important. I will rent elsewhere next time.
DOUGLAS PGuy at front desk was very rude and not approachable. Business was dark and not very well maintained. Lot was tiny to move the uhaul around in next to busy highway. The owner told me what needed to be done to avoid fees and he still charged me the fees despite doing what he asked. Most expensive uhaul I have ever had in my life and I’ve rented many over the last 10 years.
ALLYSON SThe signage could be more prominent. I drove past the location before turning around and finding it on my second pass. The location is just after a curve in the road where the speed limit is 55. A larger U-Haul sign could help. Once I walked inside, I could not be more satisfied with the professional service and the truck itself.

Jeffrey TI picked this truck up on Friday and had to return the truck by Sunday. I returned it on Saturday and was charged for an extra day. The receipt has me returning the truck on Monday. However the got the keys out of the drop box. I want my $70 dollars back. They also charged me for some gas. I have pictures time stamp of the mileage and gas gauge from Saturday when I returned the truck. I think this is a terrible way to do business.
Mark RMy scheduled pick up location, Minorcan Metal Works, did a horrible job so I had to reschedule with the Car Tech location, which did a good job. I arrived at Minorcan at 12:10 (scheduled time was 12:00), and they had closed, no one was there. I had talked to them by phone a few minutes before 12:00 and told them that I was driving from 200 miles away, didn't know my way around St. Augustine, but I would be there in just a few minutes. I arrived only 10 minutes after the scheduled time, but they had already closed and left (they supposedly closed at 4 PM, not noon). I talked to an employee on the phone to get instructions, but the person provided no assistance. This is a very shoddy way to treat an out of town visitor and previously satisfied U-Haul customer. I highly recommend not using Minorcan Metal Works!!! I wasted an hour and a half finding their location, then booking with and going to another pick up location. The location I finally used, Car Tech, was very good.
David DAwesome experience, Car Tech was great I was having an issue with my trailer lights and they troubleshot it to a fuse in my truck, they got me squared away so I could safely pull the U-Haul trailer.

Gene GThe guy working wasn’t friendly and told me that I scheduled an appointment before he opened. He ended up taking care of me but mentioned he wished more people would move out of St. Augustine. The floorboard had sand all in it and the back of the Uhaul was dirty and had not been swept out. Additionally, the transmission on this truck was horrible. I have driven six different Uhauls throughout our moves and I wouldn’t recommend this truck to anyone and don’t think it should even be on the road.

ROBERT JJim really helped us out! The website allowed us to book at Car Tech to pick up the truck, but was forcing us to return the truck to a place twenty miles away for a move that was just over a mile and a half. Jim figured out how to get the site to accept the return to his place while also maintaining the other part of our reservation -- the pre-booked moving help. In the end, it all worked out wonderfully, saved us time, money, and frustration. Jim did it all with kindness. We were happy to turn in the truck the next morning, and there was Jim, taking back the truck, and making that process super simple. Thanks Jim!

Vinny FThis review has nothing to do with Car Tech but all about the UHaul app. I filled out everything online including adding the driver with license and verification but when I pulled up to the location, the app made us go through to whole process again AND the cell service was poor. It took over an hour to check out through the app after 2 calls with Haul customer service.

In person respect was no better and I would recommend a training in how to interact with customers before recommending this facility to anyone.

Mark KThe guy behind the front counter acted like a total bitch !!! He had an attitude problem for sure. He was being an asshole because I could not back the truck up to attach to the transporter the way he wanted since I could not see where I was backing up to when this was suppose to be his job to already to have the rental truck and transporter ready when I showed up.Also there was another guy from uhaul just standing there watching while I back the truck up when the other idiot employee with the attitude hook up the transport when he should of been helping this moron out.The truck and transporter was not ready when I got there and the moron with the attitude kept walking around looking for a ball hitch to hook up transporter.This was nothing but a kluster fuck and a circus !!! Instead of the guy behind counter having the truck ready for me when I showed up ,he was just looking at his phone cocking an attitude when I was asking about the resevation.I suppose he was mad that I disturbed him from sitting around on his skawny ass playing with his phone. Luckily for him I needed the rental truck and transporter badly when instead I should of went to another rental company and gave them my money and business to but I was in a hurry so I needed to rent something fast.
