Was told to make sure it had a full tank of gas, got in the truck and it was a little over half a tank. When I got done I filled it up, the guy then said to only fill it to what it was at when I got it. Even tho he said fill it up, he laughed and thanked me for saving him money. Contracted customer support, and all they kept saying is you guys don't refund gas. So I got scammed out of 69$, and this company won't do anything about? I am reporting to the BBB about this, in hopes that people don't do business with this Crooked company.Ramon G.

Whoever we discussed this rental with online while booking it on the website did not clearly explain this rental was not one way. We were actually told it would doible the cost to return it to Omaha so we told them we did not want that. They booked that anyway and we had no choice yesterday and were charged double. Will no longer use uhaul services. No one could assist or help us yesterday. Not acceptable.Christopher L.

Office hours needs to be longer. It is not easy to do self-service at night. I had to retake uploading my driver's license and a selfie for verification. Overall experience pick up took about 45 minutes and drop off was long as well. The process needs improvement.Maricris C.

Tail lights are not functioning no brake lights or left turn signal. When I came to pick up he was supposed to be closed and you did not block his location so he had to come to help with the reservation and he had already left before we got hooked up so I couldn't tell him about the issue and no other trailer the size we needed available. The parking lot is like hell getting the trailer in correctly without damaging your wheels to back it in I don't think we will return.Jamie B.

Changing to a contactless check-in at the very last minute was not ideal as we had to scramble to provide documentation and/or people who could verify our identity, which was strange since I had provided quite a bit of information already just to reserve the truck. We also were picking the truck up during business hours, so all of the hoops we had to jump through could have been resolved if the owner, who was in the building, would have communicated with us. If in person pickup isn't an option, don't offer it as an option.Frank H.
There's really nothing to improve at this location. The person I spoke to about my rental was very friendly and knowledgeable. They got me checked in fast and assisted me with both attaching the trailer to my truck and dropping it off at the end of my rental.SEAN D.

I will only rent from Pat from now on and I'vetold all of my friends and family!!!!!! He's the bomb! Drink holder in 26' truck was sticky from drinks spilling. The roof in back leaked somewhere from rain so some of my boxes were damp on the bottom and tape was releasing. Other than that it was great!PAMELA O.

Customer Service really stunk. My wife picked up the u-haul and was pretty mad when she returned due to the desk clerk. He was rude and short with her. Not sure what the problem was with him, but that's never okay.Amanda D.

I picked up the Uhaul at a location (Bellevue, NE) that was changed from our original location (Glenwood, IA) , 30 minutes farther away on 6/15/2021. The 26 foot truck clearly had not had even a basic check before being sent out on a 1400 mile trip, as it was low on oil and had no windshield wiper fluid. A $30 oil change at Jiffy Lube even does this for regular cars. When it was pointed out to the employee during pick up, his response was shocking: go buy 2 quarts of oil down the road and Uhaul will reimburse me. There was an additional thinly veiled threat: Uhaul was 30 trucks short so if I complained too much I wouldn't get a truck at all. When I pointed out that there was a crack in the grill, he told me not to worry. As I had little faith in his judgment, we went ahead at drove the truck to the Council Bluffs, IA maintenance location to ensure that it truly was just short on oil and not a leak. This set us back Â½ day and we lost our truck loading help. Part way through the trip, a 3 foot piece of loose plastic broke off from near the hood and got caught in my side mirror as I was driving down the interstate. Fast forward to Sunday 6/20/2021, our turn in day. 230 miles away from home, the power brakes went out on the interstate near Deming, NM. The air conditioning also went out, and it was over 100 degrees outside. The roadside mechanic showed me the severed belt and said the car and brakes were inoperable. By the end of Monday after several inquiries into the status of the repair work, I was told that there was some â€œconfusionâ€ on jurisdiction and the repair work was apparently assigned to someone on vacation. I seriously can't even comprehend this. By Tuesday I was told the part was being delivered and I would be spending a 3rd night in New Mexico. We had already lost our weekend unpacking help, and now my wife was going to have to take a 3rd day off work. The representative was very careful not to admit fault during any texts, only on the phone where there was no paper trail. It was only when I demanded to have myself and my belongings back in Arizona immediately did they seem to get the job done. I drove home, arriving just before midnight on 6/22/2021. I fully realize now that Uhaul really doesn't care at all about its customers or safety for the public in general. I was transporting items for my blind brother in law, so he had been without his cane, transfer chair, and medical supplies during this time (not allowed on airplane). I cannot believe that Uhaul has abandoned its basic responsibility to provide a safe customer environment, has shown gross negligence in putting an unsafe vehicle on the road that has apparently not gone through a basic maintenance or safety inspection, and put a vehicle on the road that endangered public safety. If I lost brakes 30 miles earlier in the mountains, I am sure there would have been an accident at minimum, potentially involving several cars and severe injuries if not deaths. Maybe your opinion is that any accidents are covered by Uhaul's insurance, so it is not of concern for you. On the other hand, maybe you actually wish to avoid accidents caused by your vehicles' faulty conditions. As a physician with the Veterans Administration Health Care System, my wife is appalled at how apparently uncaring you are for your customers and their safety. If she provided this poor of care to her veteran patients, she would at minimum not have a job and more likely, would have been sued several times for negligent care. As fellow employees, veterans, and community members find out how you choose to treat veterans, the disabled, and their caregivers, I can only imagine how equally appalled they will be. I want to know what Uhaul is going to do to make this right, beyond just fixing the brakes and paying for a Super 8 Hotel while the repair work was done. My wife has had to cancel 3 days of work, meaning several veterans are not able to have their medical needs met. Are you going to reimburse her for lost wages? We certainly shouldn't be paying any over day or mile fees, and I would argue that we should not be paying for this rental at all. If we are required to pay for the rental, then I would ask you pay for my wife's lost wages of $700 per day ($2100 total for 3 days). If any items have been damaged from the tow, we ask that we are reimbursed for those. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am hoping that you prove me wrong and show that this incident is related to one branch's negligence, and not the Uhaul Corporation as a whole.Theodore W.
This was supposed to be a self-service check in, but this location doesn't appear to be capable of that. I completed the check-in via the app, but the location didn't make the truck available without going inside. Then when I went inside, he processed it like an in-person check in, and was having trouble since I'd already started the self-service check. When it showed my contract as being in use, he abrasively asked me if I was "fucking around" with the reservation which he was trying to check me in. So yeah, he was unable to honor the self-service check in, then made his incompetence my problem, while also trying to make it my fault.David B.

The app we had to use to check in and out the equipment didn't work. Both times we had to go into the store to do everything in person. Fortunately our pick-up and drop-off hours happened during store hours but if they hadn't been, we would have had an issue.KARI W.

I had forgotten about the location till a friend reminded me but this place was perfect and I pulled the truck out and around to do a quick inspection of damage to let him know and he had it taken care of. Problem with the pre-check-in. Drivers license photo would not load. Counter person said it loaded upside down and U-Haul (I'm assuming software) didn't like that. I made another reservation today. Same problem. Software should be quick, easy, simple. Should provide instructions if its going to be that picky. I don't have time to mess with that stuff.Robert K.

Have people answer phones without being on hold for over 30 minutes. Check the trucks before you rent them out. Our first truck we rented started smoking out the engine (coolant had a leak somewhere we think) after driving for maybe 5 miles to load it up. Had to wait around 3 hours for them to finally get us another truck so we could start moving. The gentleman we worked with for our replacement truck (didn't catch his name but he was working at the cash flow building) was great though. Very disappointed in service. Both people were extremely friendly and helpful at pickup and drop off location. I was disappointed that we had to settle for a 20ft instead of a 26ft but overall a good experience. Also Uhaul please find a better system for a " "one way"move other that calling 48 hours ahead of time to notify the customer about the availability.Scott T.
