Would have been nice to be reminded to go through the drop-off procedure on the mobile phone while being there. Instead the people there told me to just park the trailer, and you're done. Sounds straight forward and easy, but I ended up calling UHaul to let them know I returned the trailer, because I can't complete the rental contract online when I'm not physically at the location.
