I used the truck only for 4 miles, but I filled gas for ~$6.5 when I returned the truck. The fuel indicator was pointing well beyond the full mark when I returned. I need not have filled gas, but somehow did it. Is there a way that I can get the money back for overfilling gas?

We picked up on a Sunday. There is only one employee at this location who also covers the self storage business. Pickup was quick and easy but on dropoff, the clerk was away from the desk. The entry door was locked and a sign was up saying "back in a few minutes" but we waited around 20 minutes and he didn't come back. Thankfully the drop-box return process worked fine and we got out of there no problem. I'd recommend using the electronic pickup and dropoff at this location.

Waited 20 minutes. Sign on door said showing a unit back in a few minutes. After waiting 20 minutes and nobody to be found I walked outside to find the guy cutting grass. NOT showing a unit. Very poor service to make a CUSTOMER wait like that. Ridiculous

WE HAD A CHANGE OF PLANS AND ONLY NEEDED THE TRAILER FOR 2 DAYS, TRIED TO CHANGE MY CONTRACT U HAUL EMPLOYEE AT CLIMATE CONTROL MOVING CORP IN WEBSTER NY SAID HE WAS UNABLE TO CHANGE MY CONTRACT/RESERVATION. SO I HAD TO PAY FOR 24 HOURS USE OF THE TRAILER I DID NOT NEED.. IT SAT AT THE RETURN PLACE FOR A WHOLE ADY UNUSED.

Be clear in your documentation/website about the fact that the rental time starts at the exact time of pickup. Had I known, I would have picked up later in the day...

I reserved a 10’ TRUCK SHARE 24/7 at the Webster location to avoid standing in line for half hour. When we made the reservation it said truck would be ready an hour before pickup. We arrived at 9:45am to start the EXPRESS check in. The APP did not work for this and after 20 minutes of trying we went inside too find a line 6 people long. So we went back outside to try checking in through the website. This worked and we were so excited only to find the box where the key should have been EMPTY! We were instructed to see customer service inside. It was already now 10:20 and there were still 6 people on line. I was NOT waiting on line so I cut the line to ask why the key wasnt in the box and was told “we don’t do that here.” Since we made a reservation for 10am and we weren’t able to access the truck until 10:30am I asked for half hour extension and was told NO. THEN when we returned the truck (we rushed and thank goodness were actually done early at 1:30 instead of 2pm) and checked out using the website because the APP was again not working. We were instructed to leave the key in the drop box outside. Surprise surprise no drop box. Had to go inside and asked again why no drop box. “We don’t do that here.” Why advertise and instruct for express 24/7 check in and drop off if there is none?! Very frustrating. I felt bad for the other people on line who had stood there for over half hour scared to ask for the key ahead of anyone. Because at least 2 other people BOTH times were experiencing the same thing but stood in line behind people who did not have express check in reserved and were actually renting a truck in the store. Had it not been for this issue with the drop box our experience would have been WONDERFUL but instead it was frustrating and long. I hope this location either stops listing themselves through Uhaul as 24/7 with self check in options and at least has signs posted outside and inside that they DO NOT abuse the drop boxes so other people who are on time constraints don’t experience the one hour delay we did. Had we not cut the line both times it would have been 2 hours like the other poor souls who waited on line only to cut it like we did after we retrieved our keys from customer service which took all of about 2 seconds.

This is my second time renting a U-Haul from this location and both of my experiences have been positive (this is why I decided to utilize them a second time)! I requested a U-Haul online. That was very easy. The staff were friendly and helpful on the day of. I don’t have anything I would suggest to be done differently!

Online reservation process was efficient and well-organized. One thing that was aggravating/annoying is that fuel level in truck was marked incorrectly on contract. It was marked near 7/8 full mark, and gauge in truck was squarely on the 3/4 mark.I tried to get customer service person to look at the truck and adjust the marking on the contract. But when I returned to the building after noticing this, he was not in the office because he was off in another part of the building doing something else. (He did leave a note explaining that). So, in the end when I refueled at end of trip to mark indicated on contract, I actually had to put in more fuel than I used (about 2 gallons). Why not just have the fuel tank full at pickup, and insist that customer return it full? That makes it easier than trying to refuel to a mark on the gauge. Also, in reference to answer number 2 above, while equipment was relatively clean, the previous user had left a pile of newspapers in the back that was not cleaned out. Not a major thing do deal with, but again a minor annoyance that whomever checked over the truck before rental should have taken care of.

They gave me the Uhaul truck with the “low fuel” tank light on and then charged me 32.00 after I put $15.00 of my own money in the old beat up piece of garbage truck they gave me.

Got a no show at the East Rochester location. I was there at 9am as scheduled but guy never showed. Had to call Webster uhaul location and rented one there quick as I had people waiting on me that I was paying. Luckily they had a truck for me so all ended up well. Thanks so much to Webster uhaul... the representative was very good..

I would’ve liked to of been informed that I should’ve use my smart phone to drop the truck off. I was not informed of it and I just drop the truck off and put the key in the lock box I was not penalized but I would’ve been happier had I known that I should’ve done something other than left the key. It was not a problem and it worked out fine so all’s well that ends well.
