Good location. Just a little concerned with mask wearing by the staff. Employee on pick up did not have a mask on in the store although he was behind plexiglass barrier throughout. On return when he met us outside was wearing mask but not properly over entire mouth and nose.Rick F.

Lack of trailer lifting jack (tongue jack) attached to the 6x12 Cargo Trailer weights 1920 lbs Upon arriving, to pick the Trailer licence plate D084047MI I noticed that there was no tongue jack attached to the trailer and not portable lifting jack was offered by the U-HAUL personnel or any other help to deal with hitching my car. 2 bystanders helped me with hitching Upon returning the trailer the attendant didn't have a portable jack to un-hitch my trailer, he advised me to use nearby rocks to elevate the tongue of the trailer. No other help was offered. I spent over an hour struggling to un-hitch my car using rocks and a crowbar. I strained my back and my wrist in the process.Wojciech L.

Yet another extremely disappointing experience with U-Haul. If there was another place to rent a trailer I would. This is the first time at this location. Thay did not have the actual trailer I wanted within a 2 hr drive from me as usual. So I had to go with the larger heavier trailer and drive 40 min to get it. So of course had to rent it for longer period which cost more for both the trailer and for gas. Went to pick up the 6 x 12 trailer which this time was there for a change. Hooked it all up to the truck. Did a look over of the trailer which was pretty beat up. Opened the rear door to look inside and it would not close again! Roof of the trailer had caved and the door shifted off of the tracks. Had to spend another 1 hr in the store to get a refund and get another trailer I did not want in the first place. You never get an apology or any thing at all. I do have to say that U-Haul does live up to my expectations which are extremely low.Brian H.

Only half of the pictures of the truck were showing on the app for the conformation of condition of the truck. Take lots of your own pics just in case. I had ordered 1 dozen of moving blankets and received only 9 when I asked for the other 3 he said he only charged me for 6 but gave me 9. When I said I was going to contact U-Haul because I'm sure they don't rent by 6 only by the dozen he gave me the other 3 and said no extra charge.Patrick T.

The Colburn location we're not willing to accept the stuff that was wrong with it before I left they wouldn't document if they said I had insurance they had all kinds of issues power steering rear tire gasket in the front window no air conditioner quite a horrible experience door handle was broken I actually have a handicap and I need to hold on to things and when I go to get over to the U-Haul trailer the whole handle it go and I fell out of the trailer hit my head and landed on the ground that place should not have allowed that truck to leave their lot I was quoted $60 for my insurance for the travel when I was at that location they charged me a hundred and five it did not have the power required to do what I needed to do I was supposed to be getting the V10 Triton I ended up getting the 8-cylinder which was only good for 20,000 and I was supposed to have 25,000troy J.

The left side turn signal/brake light wouldn't work. The truck pulling this trailer had less than 2,000 km on it, so it wasn't a truck malfunction. There was one brake light, one tail light, and one license plate light, so it was legal to use.Craig J.
The area for parking the trailer is a little tight. If you have a large truck as I do then the other U-Haul trucks are very close and it is difficult to replace the trailer at the end of the rental.JOHN L.
Absolute worst service I have ever received. Attendants were rude to every single customer they interacted with during the HOUR I spent just dropping the vehicle off. They were aggressive, tried to charge me the replacement cost of the equipment I had ordered but never received in the first place. Told me they were doing me a favor by not just charging my credit card that they could do without my consent although I offered to call the pick up location and verified I never received the items to begin with. Yelled at me and told me I was wrong when I should him my email box to show I never received a receipt upon pick up. At one point the man spent a full 25 mins just standing there not saying a word to me and then gave me a hard time for being anyone way drop off and that I hadn't picked a vehicle up from their location. If I require a U-Haul again I will go out of my way to avoid this location. I highly recommend you look into finding an alternative location in the area. After speaking to others who live in the area they have said they have also had nothing but awful interactions will the staff at this store.Heather C.

Truck was smelly and make awful noises. Only one person trained on uhaul. I order med appliance cart, dolley and pads and they didn't put them in truck so I had to turn around and go back. J had to pay milage for that. Reserved for 530pm and had to wait til he came back to get the truck and then it took til 9pm to get it completed. By the time I got back I lost the time I was counting in to move more, so then I had to pay for 3 days instead of the 2 I am not happy at all.Kelly M.

Learn the difference between kilometers and miles in the system. I was conned into paying an extra $30 for excess miles when I hadn't actually exceeded my allowance. U-Haul refuses to return the $30 - which was clearly obtained by fraud. Karon McDonnell, in their head office, is either the "chief thief" or is too thick to understand plain English - I'm not sure which. All I now is that U-Haul stole $30 of my money.Jim S.

My concern is not with the location. It is with U-Haul. I rented a 10 ft. truck on the side of which in large letters was $19.95/day with very small words below it saying there would be taxes. I used the vehicle less that a day and ended up paying $98.00. I used your products frequently some time ago, but there is something wrong with this. It comes close to false advertising. I plan not to use you in the future, and I will warn my friends about getting caught in this.kydd R.

Not send me to a location that doesn't have what I reserved then make me drive half hour to where there is what I reserved. Then try to charge me double for wanting to drop off at nearest uhaul because you screwed up reservation location. Can't believe you stay in business screwing people around this bad. As a person who has towed many different trailers, I have no problem hooking up a trailer. The person who operates the gas station was on his own, so he told me which one to take, and where it was. He obviously could not leave the store. Anyway I hooked up and checked it out and left. I don't know what would have happened if I was new to pulling a trailer, and was not sure what to do. The previous renter had never swept it out, as there was soil and bits of debris in it. It was no big deal, as it only took a couple of minutes to sweep it out. Why I mention this is because, when my son returned the trailer, the person on duty asked him if the trailer was clean. My son told him it was a lot cleaner than when we got it. This is the second time I have rented fro this same dealer, and both times the vehicle was not clean.George C.

Went to drop the truck off Wednesday night I was told I had to come back on Thursday when the main guy was in. So I had to check in I motel for a night in that area. At my expense When I was supposed to be checking in to a Toronto hotel. Where I was supposed to go for a week. So the moving trip was a nightmare from start to end.Robert S.

The Colborne location was great but the online reservation system is a shitshow. I reserved the truck online and got a call a couple of days later and was told there were no trucks available and I would have to go to Trenton for it. I said that was too far so the woman said someone would call me a couple of days in advance to let me know. I never got a call so I called the Colborne location and booked the truck that I wanted, the one that wasn't supposed to be available. I picked it up and as I was driving down the street I got a call from the Cobourg location wondering whether I still wanted the truck. Are you kidding me?Abigail M.
We dropped off in Colbourne, when I spoke to the Uhaul 1=800 woman she contacted Cobourg by mistake. So Colbourne wasn't aware of our dropping the truck off. They got everything organized,just took a bit longer.Pierre L.

The proprietor of this location was smug and rude. I would never rent from him. The only reason I did is because the Cobourg location Storage City, did not have any vehicles. Mary Venne at Storage City in Cobourg is awesome! This guy in Colborne was an ass hat. He kept asking me why I booked online instead of directly with him. He insisted I take the highest cost insurance. When I told him my company's insurance coverage was all I needed, he refused to process the transaction. After three times, I finally succumbed to his insistence because I didn't have time to argue anymore. The trailer was filthy. When I snatched the back door my hands were covered in black grease. Inside the trailer the floor had a thick coating of dirt on it. Prior to loading with our clean furniture, we had to sweep it out, then wet mop it, and finally cover the floor with carpets. My wife washed down the walls of the trailer and the water was black and the cloths filthy when she was finished. Cleaning the trailer took us 90 minutes!! Ironically, your lazy proprietor in Colborne has a car wash setup on site. He could easily clean the trailer himself and charge the last renters for leaving it so filthy.ALLAN R.

Uhaul rep was not there. Convenience store cashier had to check us into the uhaul system and he kept getting interrupted by store customers. We went to this location because uHaul changed our pick up location and time 12h before pickup which was unacceptable. It caused us a lot of problems. Took 1h for the cashier at the convenience store to get the system to work so we could take the trailer.Ronnie D.
The truck was booked for 11 am. I was running a little late and called them. left a message on answering machine. When I got there about 20 minutes late, the person behind the counter didn't know anything about the UHaul rentals and phoned for someone who did. It took 4 or 5 calls before this person woke up and answered the phone. Luckily he lived next door to the gas station. I don't know how many time he asked me my name and was half asleep during the whole process. To cut a long story short, about an hour later, I was handed the keys and told the truck is out back. My son and I inspected the truck for damage, mileage and gas, etc. The passenger side rear wheel is covered in oil and brake dust I assume, and should be checked out. There was broken glass inside the box of the truck. I was not given any paper work at the time of the rental, and it took several attempts to put my credit card through. When I returned the truck, it was a different person, who knew what he was doing. The reason I clicked "Not Applicable" on recommending is because they are the nearest around and to rent from another location would add 60 + Kilometres to the billGeorge C.

The people in Quuensville, Ontario sent us a message after we drove 1500 kms that the u hauls we had reserved before leaving home were not available. This caused us so much stress. We had to go off the highway and tow a u haul from Colborne gas bar to Queensville. Not very efficient service. The head office tracked down these u hauls for us.JAMES B.
The U-Haul experiences where not great this time. Could not get the web site to do the hire help with correct time so called the U-Haul number. From there truck booked for 20ft pickup 8 am Taunton rd Oshawa. For some reason decided to check on truck day before and it had been cancelled so they found me another but over an hour away. We got it although then there was a lot of extra gas as we had to drive to pick up then drove the truck and car back to oshawa. As well to find out our credit card wouldn't work so had to call MasterCard to find out charges for hired help had been put through more than one and had used up the card space, called U-Haul and were told it's been refunded but had to use sisters card then as ours was not working. And he was great but have only had the offer of no extra Kim's from colbourne to Oshawa. Not sure that I fell that covers all the extra problems. After that the battery warning light and beep kept happening air was not working well. The man at Caledonia U-Haul was having computer issues but it finally worked for him to return the truck.Marjoriell D.

Very convenient location and friendly staff. Just an issue with Uhaul's reservation policy... I reserved online twice only to get a call shortly after each time telling me the truck I reserved wasn't available. So I went to the location and was told the only sure way to get a truck was to show up and if there was one in the lot take it. So I did that yesterday at 3pm, for a 24 hr rental, and got a call three hours later asking when I was bringing it back. Today, half way through my move, a head office rep called and told me the truck I'd taken had been reserved by someone else and I had to bring it back immediately. Crazy. I said it was impossible etc etc and when I returned it on time 3pm nothing was mentioned and all completed without a hitch. So it worked out. But beware of the fact that a reservation seems to mean nothing. The people who had reserved the truck I got were left truckless on their moving day. Crazy policy. But otherwise good service and great truck at a decent price.SCOTT R.

Fill your Trucks with fuel and put a locking mechanism on the tank. Receiving a truck with less than half a tank and asked to return with same level is a bit ridiculous. I was late by 45 minutes to my drop off from having to make multiple trips to the gas station to avoid overfilling, and being given uhaul credit.(not interested). Then i got Charged 17$ for the 5 dollars it was underfilled when i dropped it off. Fill your damn trucks like EVERY other rental company in the history of business.andrew B.

I was charged 15.00 twice for coverage, from where I picked it up in Oshawa and where I dropped it off in Colborne. Not even worth it to call and complain as I've had MANY issues with the Colborne location with no resolve. Unfortunately I have to use UHAUL often for my job and can't wait to have an alternate option.Samantha T.
