CRAIG HThe pick up and drop off procedure went great. My concerns are with the vehicle itself. First off, the change oil light was on the entire time I was in possession of the vehicle. It happened to be snowing which forced me to use the windshield wipers. One of the wipers was almost completely broken, with the metal part of the wiper sticking out. It also made a loud screeching noise as it moved across the windshield. The most alarming thing however was the state of the tires. As I was driving the vehicle home in the snow, I realized just how little traction I had on the road. When I finally stopped, I looked at the tires and realized the poor state that they were in. Due to that, I didn't feel safe driving the vehicle until after the snow stopped and the accumulations began to melt.
Steven HThe van had a broken passenger side mirror and was overdue for an oil change, so the message center overwrote the mileage odometer as well.

Nathan MTheir computer system seemed not working, but from the sound of it, it was more Uhaul's national system and not them. I waited at least 15 minutes on them to try to do something. They did just let me have the truck. But it was two hours later I finally got emails saying I got my vehicle and got the agreements and such. I didn't know I was supposed to refill it until after I already got it back. Also I'm reasonably confident it wasn't full when I left, and of course the documents say "you agree by leaving the premises that the fuel was at the right level". Can't argue it after the fact. So I definitely got charged a LOT more than I was expecting because I didn't know the right process because the system was down. The women were nice about it, but I definitely got screwed over a bit by Uhaul because of this and no real way to debate it after the fact. (My review is part the location, part Uhaul itself. The experience sucked regardless of how at fault the location directly was.)

Ali SThe employees at the location and on the help lines were all great, but I'm very disappointed in the app. I went before the location opened, but the app didn't work on my phone, and when I called for help I was informed that self pick up does not currently work on android phones at all. So then I had to wait in the sun for half an hour before a person could help me pick up my van. I may recommend this location to my friends, but I will definitely recommend that they avoid trying to use the U Haul app

Isaiah BMake it very clear that a reservation doesn’t mean you have it reserved if you’re running late. I’d recommend taking payment with the reservation That way it’s actually reserved for when you arrive. The lady at the counter was very nice and accommodating
Nathan MThe cab of BE 1295 V smelled really strongly of poop. It was disgusting but we needed the van to pick up a couch and had very limited time to get back to work so we just powered through with windows down. I took note of the smell on the checkin and I hope this van gets a good cleaning before someone else has to rent it. Also checking in on the mobile app took much longer than expected especially since the app was not responding. I would have appreciated if during the online booking it recommended arriving 20 minutes early to your appointment because it ate into our reserved time. I thought that this would be a good location because there would be a storage center employee present for support but even though the sign on the door said open when I returned the truck, the door was locked and nobody was answering the on call manager line. I was trying to find the key drop off from the picture provided in the check out process for a while only to realize it was in the door and looked nothing like the picture. A picture of the actual location’s drop off would have been helpful.
Opal PChanged my online reservation and then sent me 30 minutes away to get a truck. Did not bother to tell me that the location would be closed which then delayed my pickup by 45 minutes. The trick had multiple mechanical issues that where not discovered until you left with the vehicle. I have been a regular monthly customer with storage as well as using trucks each month. This was totally unacceptable.

Brian Mdon't charge me $20 to rent when i book the reservation then ask for $80 when i walk to the truck. also try to clean the actual feces out of the truck before renting it to people. horrible scam of a service.
Wilson DWe rent U-Haul's from Compass Self Storage all the time, and always have a great experience. This is the only time that I can say it was not as excellent. The van we rented was the only one available at the time, and the interior smelled like someone threw up in it. It smelled like someone was chain smoking while drinking sour milk. Yinz need to invest in an ionizer!!!

Richard HThe app was TERRIBLE. Reasons: 1. The first step in using the app was for it to recognize my location. This took 15 minutes. I reloaded the app a few times. I walked around the parking lot. It would not recognize my location. Finally, it just did. I did nothing different. 2. The authorization process then took another 10 minutes. After I had uploaded my driver's license and my photo and answered all the questions, a person evidently had to physically check that information, and that took forever. 3. The payment method was glitchy. I would fill out all of the information, yet the continue button was greyed out. The only thing that fixed this was reloading the page multiple times. But sometimes, when I reloaded the page, it lost all my information and I had to start over. 4. Ultimately it took me 30 minutes to check out the van and get the keys using the app. Whenever I have done this in store, it takes 5 to 10 mins max. I will not be using that app again. If I need to pick up a truck, I will wait till a U-Haul store is open.

Eunice ANothing to improve, in my opinion. I had been a bit nervous about how congested the drop off location might be, as it was in Pittsburgh, but it was very easy to find and the process of dropping the U-Haul off was fast & easy..

Karen BI used the contactless pick up and drop off and as long as you are good with a smart phone, it was super easy to use. When you show up, you open the app and uhaul tells you exactly what to do, where to pick up the key from a lock box, and which truck is yours. I added someone else as a driver and uhaul sent him an approval text and he uploaded a picture of his ID and said the process was seamless. I was really happy with it! It made my moving day stress free! I didn't have to wait in any lines or talk to anyone. It was great! I just showed up and was on the road in 5 minutes! If you plan on using this method, go in and "check in" the day before so its quicker when you pick up. The only issue I had was that when I picked up the truck, it was legitimately on empty; no gas at all. Luckily there was a gas station right next door that we were able to pop over to and fill up the tank. I was only taking it about 15 miles, but I filled it up a little more than that so that the next person wasn't in a bind like I was when I picked up the truck. I'm not going to donate a tank of gas to a big company. I also was surprised that the truck was dirty inside. It looked like everyone takes out all their trash etc, but nobody has actually vacuumed it out in over a year. cupholders were sticky, there was dirt and dust everywhere, and the cab smelled like smoke and sweat. I mean, it was drivable and there was no actual trash in the cab, but it was not clean by any means.
Matthew RI chose to do check in and check out through the app, however, I did check in in the office which was more convenient and the lady was very nice. The office is called "U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer" or "compass self storage" on 6921 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208. When I returned the uhaul on the next day, the office was close at 3.30pm. According to the office hours on the front door, the office closes at 6pm. I am saying this because I had problem to return the U-haul through the app and I would have been helpful to solve questions in the office or even the whole process. Luckily, I arrived in advance and the person on the phone from U-haul helped me and confirm the returned process was made.
