The above location was not the original scheduled location. I was scheduled to pick up at Perry's in Presque Isle Maine but they did not have my rental available. I was then sent to the alternate location in the next town. Check in took at least 45 minutes even though I had checked in online the night before. It was almost 2 hours from my scheduled pick up time to when I picked up my rental. I made my reservation four days prior to when I needed it and received a confirmation that my rental was available at the pick up location for that time. Your website needs some serious updating. Why make reservations and confirm them if if they can't be kept. I was very disappointed and very frustrated and will be looking elsewhere for a rental the next time.Timothy B.

I have rented from U-Haul a lot over the years and for the first time ever I find myself with the need to submit a negative review. I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 4 PM, when I arrived at 4 I could see someone walking towards the truck, which was covered in ice and snow.I went into the office to do the paperwork, which also didn't go well, as they were unable to process the debit card I wanted to use and I had to go to a different card (that card worked fine everywhere else that day). I was told that things were all set, they keys were in the truck, and the windshield would clear soon since the heater was running.When we got to the house, I took a look and the back of the truck, including the steps and almost the entire length of the ramp, were covered in ice and snow. I understand it is winter in northern Maine, but that should have been cleaned off.We had to use ice melt to get the ramp safe to use. Inside the truck I found an appliance dolly (no big deal, but I had not ordered it and did not need it so it was just in the way) and a messy pile of unfolded blankets (with someone's ski pants in the middle of the pile) and a dirty, unswept truck. We cleaned it up so that we could use it, and left it in better shape then we found it when we returned it.Tony S.

The uhall representative didn't come to work that day. The individual that was there knew absolutely nothing about uhaul. The office was a filthy disgusting shit hole in an old shed. They offered me a chair to sit in while I waited, but it was so gross I declined.Timothy D.

I would never recommend uhaul to anyone. This whole experience was a hassle and created so much more stress than needed during moving. The website wouldn't work to let me book my uhaul box, so I had to call. That was fine, except they put a completely wrong address to where I needed my uhaul box dropped off. I called to get that fixed and the lady said she updated it with the correct address then emailed me after and it said the address stayed the same. I sent an email to try and get that fixed and no one bothered to reply. I then had to call again and the person finally fixed the address. Each time I called I waited on hold 30-40 minutes. After that I was told someone would contact me a few days before it was supposed to be at my house to schedule a delivery time, and no one did. I had to call uhaul again and wait on hold 45 min, only to get transferred to two different people. The uhaul box arrived at my house on time, and I had it picked up and brought back to the local shipping location 1 day early, then got an email saying it would arrive 2 days late at my final destination. That took another 3 phone calls to get figured out as to why it would be late when it was back to the local shipping location a day early, which there wasn't really a reason. I filed a complaint over the phone and the general manager John Eastmond contacted me but he was not very helpful or friendly. He told me to talk to the person that drops my uhaul box off to get a $100 refund for my uhaul box arriving 2 d fays late. When I got to my final location I called uhaul and schedulued a time to have my box arrive and I was promised it would be there that day by 4:30pm, and it didn't arrive until the next day until noon. I talked to the person delivering it about getting my refund and she said John Eastmond should have been the one to do that for me, but that she would look into it and email me later that night, which she never did. This company was very unprofessional and anytime I called anyone they usually weren't able to help me without transferring me to at least 2 different people. I am highly unsatisfied with this experience and would probably not do business through uhaul again, unless I get my $100 refund.Bonnie C.

D & L Carlisle was great. The young man was very professional. I had a unit reserved for Mar. 31st and return on April 1st at Perry's in Presque Isle. When I went to pick it up I found out that I had to have it back by noon today, which would not work. Dave at Perry's was helpful in finding the one in Easton but I had to travel out of my way and had 7 guys waiting around for an hour. I was told that a one way rental preempted my local lease, which I feel is a very poor business practice and I will look to UHaul as a very last resort in the future and would not recommend anyone else leasing from you as well.jim M.
Put tires with tread within the legal limit. The 2 tires on the rear had at least 16th of an inch tread. This would be inadequate on dry roadways definitely they were not adequate for snow in Maine. I got the truck stuck and had to pay someone to push me out because it was stuck in 2 inches of snow and the tires could not get traction. I had to carry a couch and loveseat approximately 150 ft because I could not get close enough where there was dry pavement. Any vehicle in Maine should have been able to make it through at least one inch of snow without getting stuck. When I got to my destination with the couch and loveseat at my home I could not go into my driveway because there was also about 1 to 2 inches of snow which is nothing in Maine. I did not want to get the truck stuck again so left it parked on the street and carried the couch and sofa approximately 75 ft into the house. The truck did not have a state inspection sticker I assumed that it was because it was registered in Arizona. Regardless this seems to be an easy out for U-Haul to avoid keeping their vehicles tires adequately maintained. The truck was clean and ran good otherwise. I have had good luck with U-Haul vehicles in the past.CLIFFORD O.

I only gave it a 1 because they did not give me the option of 0!. I was there 1 1/2 hours trying to rent a truck. The staff didn't have a clue how to work the program to make the transaction and even after calling his boss 4 times I had to get online on uhaul.com and reserve it so then he could give it to me. The truck was filthy, covered in black ash and soot all up the ramp and body of the truck, had to lay tarp down so my stuff would not get black. Incompetent!terry P.
My only comment is they ran my card twice and one charge was supposed to back on my card and still haven't been reimbursed... also the guy told me he was gonna put an extra day to be safe what he didn't tell me is there would be more charges for that day... then if you give it back late they charge you but if you bring it back early they don't give you back the insurance purchased for the extra days you didn't use it.Chelsey C.

U Haul is always a pleasure to deal with, fast customer service and very good condition of their rental equipment my only complaint is that of the four U Haul dealer in the Presque Isle Maine area only one had a trailer available for rent so some improvement needs to be done in this respect.Ken B.

He wasn't even there. They were supposed to be open at 7am and they werent. I had to drop off the truck and since the pick up location miss marked the fuel level and updated it on the paper contract but never updated their system this location charged me for less fuel in the tank. If he was at work on time I could show him my contract and could have avoided having to call the customer service and spend half an hour to get my money refunded back to me.Denise E.

The parking area is dirt/mud. So truck has dirt/muddy mats on floor of cab. Received and turned in this way. I was told the rental was a complete self checkin/checkout, but I had to get the key from a physical person.Douglas G.
I was very unhappy with my rental. I reserved and was guaranteed a 26' foot truck and on the day of pickup was given a 10' truck. I also had reserved for an in town rental, and was charged additional milaeage to go pick up and return the truck at a location 15 miles, even when there was a location within our town. Then there was no drop box at the facility nor was staff available at my drop off time, so I was charged an additional day because no one witnessed my rental being returned and there was no place to leave the key. So, so unhappy with this experience. A move is already stressful and between the reduced truck size, travel for pickup, and additional charges this made everything worse.Molly E.

I was charged $110 in this rental for an extra day I did not use. I previously shipped a UBox that was destroyed and insurance company still has not paid a year later. If these issues not resolved, I will never use UHaul again. NO CLASS WHATSOEVERPETER E.

The customer service line lied. Its not this location, but there is no where to comment about the people who I talked to on the phone through the 800 number. I was hung up on, more than once, I was not told that I would be paying 4x what I should have been, they included 100 miles when I clearly stated I needed over 400. Overall experience was horrible, but again, NOT at this location, they were great.KYLE B.

The auto transport that they gave me blew two tires and had to have another one replaced during the trip. By the time we arrived in Broadview we had another tire that had three large cracks in the sidewall and was replaced as soon as we dropped it off.David R.

Improve communication between empkyees, between customers and employees and customer service. Everyone is NOT in the same page. It makes for unsatisfactory business transaction. Doug needs work on his customer service interaction. This was not the location I hoped to pick up the truck, but I had been told that such could occur. What I had not been told, and what I plan to still dispute, is that I would be given a truck -- based in kilometers -- at a higher mileage rate than I had been promised (62 cents per kilometer instead of 69 cents per mile). The truck otherwise was ancient, made numerous odd noises and did not start easily such that I feared turning it off to unload and ended up getting a mileage rate (after conversion) of 5 mpg.Ralph S.

Started off rocky with lack of equipment available but the area Rep and Doug Carlisle remedied that. Equipment was clean, but windshield cracked which we knew it was too cold up here to get it fixed, so they opted to get it repaired downstate so we would have a truck to use. Thanks Guys!MARGO C.
The truck had damage on each side of the exterior. There were more stickers with the letter X then I could possibly count. I had to travel over 70 miles out of my way to pick the U Haul up. I was given extra mileage however the extra gas was very costly. There was a young man who completed our transaction. The office area was unkept and the young man did not appear very focused or confident. The truck in itself was very clean and rode well.Lynn K.
I was sent a certificate in the amount of $30 for several U Haul reservation mix ups. The person at the pick up location was unable to enter the certificate into any location of the pick up paperwork. This is the second time this issue has occurred in as many rentals. It is as if the certificate is facetiously given to a customer, in the hopes it will get forgotten or thrown away ! The certificate # is 254D995D. I already know the reply to this will be to again present the agent with the certificate and if there are any problems to call customer service ! Which in all honesty is ridiculous ! I have seen what the agent has to enter on their computer. There is absolutely no location for the certificate to be entered.PATRICK D.
