1-Star Review — Deplorable and Potentially Unsafe U-Haul Truck Our experience with this U-Haul truck from Dave’s on Fifth was absolutely horrible. The condition of the vehicle was deplorable, and honestly, I was shocked that this truck was being rented to customers and allowed on the road. The truck was dented all over, filthy, scratched, and visibly damaged. The roof was dented in, the front was badly scratched, the passenger-side mirror molding was cracked, and the trim was coming apart. Even worse, the rear tail-light area was falling apart, which raised serious concerns about the vehicle’s safety and visibility to other drivers. The footstep was another major safety concern. It was extremely slippery and had no protective or non-slip coating, making it easy for someone to slip while getting in or out of the truck. When you’re dealing with a large moving truck, that is not something that should be overlooked. This was not simply a truck that looked old or had a few cosmetic imperfections. The overall condition made us question whether it had been properly inspected and maintained before being rented out. We were extremely uncomfortable driving it and felt that the condition of the vehicle created unnecessary risks for us and other people on the road. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst rental experiences we’ve ever had—the worst thing since diarrhea. What should have been a straightforward moving experience became stressful, frustrating, and frightening. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and inspects this truck before renting it to another customer. Customers should be able to trust that when they rent a U-Haul, they are receiving a vehicle that is safe, properly maintained, and roadworthy.

I had to leave the truck in a narrow gap between a truck and a car, to ensure the car could move out of the facility

It was very difficult for me to use the app for the first time I spent 45 minutes trying to use the app and that’s unacceptable
