The truck was in horrible shape. Neither door fully closed because the doors were literally bent out of shape, and the passenger side mirror would not stay in the same position. It felt very dangerous to drive. If I went here again, I would always ask for the newest vehicle, this one was about 40 years old.

Totally unacceptable mileage reading and billing. U-haul billed me 80 miles for my 5 miles drive. The agent did not check the mileage when pickup and drop off. Terrible experience!

The truck was fine however, the manager and people that work at this location do not wear masks while interacting with customers. During this time when we are in a pandemic covid19 is really contagious. The cases and numbers are rising in the New Jersey area. Everyone should be wearing a mask! I was extremely uncomfortable because when I rented the truck and when I returned the truck the employees were not wearing masks. That did not make me feel safe at all and for this reason I would not refer this location to anyone.

Look at the time I returned and when I received the receipt. The gentleman processing might have done this on purpose. He said, “you did a lot of driving, the gas is down to 1/8 tank.” When I returned, the fuel gauge was on 1/4 and I added gas. I asked the gentleman to walk to the car to verify. I was told not to worry about the fuel, I was not given the chance to check. I will never use this location again. The gentleman who checked me out was fantastic. My issue is with the return.

Saw all the negative reviews and was nervous but had a great experience. Was probably 3 minutes between walking up to the counter and giving my phone number and walking out with keys in hand. No paperwork to sign. Truck was fine. Location is open 24hr which is awesome if you're running late. Location is in a gas station. Their price is 10% higher than the gas station literally right across the street. But unless you went really far it probably doesn't add up to much.

Dirty truck on the inside. You could certainly tell it wasn't wiped down which is unacceptable in covid hotspot. The gentleman who provided the vehicle told me I couldn't park my car in their lot and to illegally park it in the Best Buy lot across the street. I asked, could I get towed and he responded, “I'm not sure.” After some arguing back and forth he gave in realizing I'm removing a vehicle from his lot so it's really not a big deal if I park mine in that spot while I'm using the truck for three hours. In my contract they stated I had to bring the truck back at 3/4 tank of gas which it was well below when I left the lot. Shame on me for not checking it before I drove off. I used the truck for 5-7 miles and had to put 5 gallons of gas back in to get it up to that line. I sat in the lot for five minutes as well with everyone ignoring me so had to pump my own gas. Bad representation of U-Haul and doesn't need to be that way. It's a simple business model with zero integrity at this location.

cancelled on me and downgrade me from a truck to a van. as a result i had to do 2 trips instead of 1 and paid an additional $250 to the task rabbit. they even refused to give me the $50 reservation guarantee becaused the offered me a truck at 3pm i.e. 6 hours after my booking. A time that the task rabbit was not available any more

Great experience. Was a little worried in the beginning since there was a snow storm couple of days prior to this, but with mover's help, we were able to wrap everything up in a little than 2 hours. Recommended.

I got truck a truck on December 4th which is in bad condition, without checking the condition of the vehicle they gave to us and in the middle of the highway smoke came out of front hood and suddenly engine stopped which put our lives on danger ⛔️ this is ridiculous and same day towing truck came and towed the vehicle which we barely used for 4 hours and they sent invoice that we return the vehicle on December 11th this is unacceptable

When I first entered the vehicle I had to immediately roll down the window because of the horrible smell that assaulted my sense of smell. Upon turning the truck on I noticed the check engine, the traction control and the suspension wipes all on. I went back inside to speak to the representative and he told me "All the trucks are like that". So I leave, about a quarter of a mile into my trip the truck started shaking so hard I had to pull over. I got out of the truck to make sure everything was still intact and decided to keep going. When I finally got to my destination I tried to open the back of the truck, where are then had to pry the latch open. I loaded my truck and again on my way to my final destination the truck began shaking uncontrollably to where I had to pull over. I sat on the side of the road for about 10 minutes, and continued on. About two minutes later the same thing occurred with the truck shaking violently and uncontrollably. When I returned the truck I told the representative about the shaking of the truck and all he could tell me was to speak to the manager the following day. Never in my life will I risk it again by renting a truck from that location. I don't even know that I will rent from U-Haul again because of this experience.

The store keeper was extremely rude. He was shouting at me for no reason when I went to collect the key. When we returned he made us fill more gas than it had before.

Honestly, I am glad that I got the opportunity to go to this location and get a U-Haul. Everything was right on schedule. I was able to go to my location and back with no complications. I already have the app so the process was quick and easy. Will be coming here when I need a U-Haul. I also realized that when I arrived, it was at a gas station and it's 24 hours so I was happy about that. Thank you!

I reserved the trailer to pick up in my home town of Fair Lawn, but the day before was sent 45 minutes away to downtown Jersey City to pick up the trailer and drive it back 45 through urban congestion.

Do not rent from here. The way it was run was a complete disaster. There was one counter for both the gas staton it was ran out of and the actual U-Haul renting. They did not have any of the supplies I had previously paid for and didn't do anything about it, they still charged my card and now I am in contact with customer service. No one was wearing a mask and they were very unprofessional. I returned the van with 7/8 of a tank (same way I got it) and they charged me for gas.

A new van, an involved management and a seamless transaction. The only suggestion is to offer a full tank of gas, especially from a gas station location.

I would not recommend this location because overall the communication and customer service was very poor. I originally had a quote for an $89.99 deposit fee and when I picked up the truck, the deposit was $171.99. The manager said that they have a high theft rate so they charge a higher deposit fee. That is fine, but that is how it should've come up on the Uhaul site so there were no surprises. Also, when we came to pick up the truck at the scheduled time, the workers were like, there's no truck come back later. The girl with the truck previously fortunately only showed up 10 minutes late but as a business, you need to plan for these things and not book the same truck back to back because it causes a lot of stress for the consumer, especially since moving is so stressful as it is. In addition, when I returned the truck, the customer service was very rude. I took a picture of the the miles before and after because at this point I didn't trust them and didn't want to get ripped off. The guy was like, 'Ok, thank you' and I said 'I need a receipt and need to know what the final payment is' and he said 'we don't give receipts, we only send an email later.' Well of course I want to know what I am going to be billed when I leave the store, otherwise I need to dispute it. All in all, the one on Tonnele Avenue is much more professional. I only used this one because I needed a 15' truck ASAP and the Tonnele Avenue one did not have one available. But the way this place runs, it's like you can book one and they may not even have it at your scheduled pick up time.

The mileage at the start of the trip was 12348 and the mileage when the vehicle was returned was 12365. I was charged for 50 miles when I didn't even use the vehicle for 20 miles. An associate/owner took the picture of the end trip mileage. I would like to see that. Please get back to me about this. I have been charged more than double of what I used.

interior floor was oily and slippery. Had to lift trailer by myselfand hook everything up. Attendant came out just to check and take a picture. Oh, and the attendant was on the phone for ten minutes making pickup slow. Drop off attendant was good.

It was not explained to me that a 2 day rental meant the truck had to be returned in exactly 48 hours. I rented on Wednesday and returned on Friday and was charged $55 for the extra day

I have video of the Rental truck. The truck itself was off of its axle so driving it was dangerous. The dashboard has electrical issues as well. When I went back to the host, he told me that it was my only option or I would need to cancel. I'd like a follow up from a representative.

I had a reservation for a15ft truck & when I arrived they had none & the guy was yelling at me. I had to talk to corporate, I am expecting a$50 truck guarantee which is promoted. I had to take a van which made my move so much longer because I had to do multiple trips. Then they blocked my car & wouldn't move it. Will never use again, made my move so much harder & linger.

The first cargo van they gave me had puddles of water in the cargo are and muddy footprints through the cab and cargo area. DARREN was the manage who was rude and lied to me about the cost of the insurance. He charged me the higher price regardless of whati showed him on my online order confirmation. He was equally rude To the next person who came in and had the same issues as I did. I don't appreciate being lied to and ripped off and being treated like I am a worthless idiot. If your website says I am to be charged 20$ then your local outlet should not charge me something different. Then tell me to take the rental at the higher price or leave. Then gave me call some guys card to complain to. What I am going to do is file a complaint with the BBB and fry uhaul in yelp! Never renting from uhaul again!

The location forgot to put my reservation in the system, after I called to confirm my reservation. When speaking to customer in the morning, they made me walk a mile to a gas station to pick up a truck. I also paid for covers and dolleys and nothing was in the truck. Terrible experience.

The customer service was bad, really bad. They were treating the customer in front of me really mean. And when the customer left, they were talking bad about her in front of other customers. When it was my turn. they were exactly the same: rude and mean. when i asked them “please Be more specific and explain more about the rent insurance” he was just rude and At the end he Said “ shut the F@$ out” That's not a way to treat customers.

Worst uhaul experience I've ever had. The service was horrendous and the vehicle itself was an actual hazard to drive. It wouldn't drive straight unless the steering wheel was held at a 15 degree angle to the left, the brakes needed to be replaced thousands of miles ago at least, and neither doors fully closed without slamming them. I've never driven a vehicle so dangerous and am thankful for somehow avoiding an accident. I appreciate the business plan to contract out services, but this location has a serious quality issue.

My reservation requested two dollies and moving blankets, none of which were available when I went to pick up with moving truck. They were only able to provide a very old hand truck. Thankfully our moving helpers brought dollies otherwise we would not have been able to move our items.
