I have tried contacting U Haul to no avail. I have been charged $50 for cleaning of a dirty truck and can not be told why. Firtherore the service at the location was appalling. We had to wait 45 minutes to be served as there was no one there.

Your pricing structure is extremely mis leading and should be altered or reviewed. For a $1 a mile i can rent a competitors vehicle for the entire day and unlimited mileage for the price i paid for 40 miles today.

Worst ever experience; Booked for 10/05 was asked to go to two locations wasted almost 2.5 hours, people at the all these storage locations don’t understand technology. This was the WORST! I tried to do mobile checkout. I was told by the chat agent that I need to provide a picture of a passport or phone numbers of 2 friends who would pick up the phone and validate me. None of this was communicated to me ahead of time. I was standing in a rainy parking lot for over an hour trying to rent the damn vehicle. at some point, the chat agents simply stopped responding to me. Somehow I was able to get some represented to come and help me out. He was lovely, bit a little too late! Never again.

I got there and they claimed i needed 5 gallons of gas. My move was a total of 6 miles. When i said that was replied that was ridiculous, they ocuntered with 3. They said i could pay or they'd tack it on. So i paid an extra 15 bucks for no reason

I had a reservation for 10’ truck online on Aug 15th. But when I arrived at the store, I was told that they could not find my reservation. I knew it was not the representative’s fault, but he was always saying the f and sh word. He asked me to call ?(973) 478-4582? this number to see if the other one could help. But they end up treating me as a walk-in guest and provided me the smallest van. The representative on the phone told me that I could have $10 credit for the missing reservation and wrong size of the truck, but still, I ended up paying everything in full. I’ve been using your service for the past 5 years, and this was the most disgusting one.

The employee was not very informative when I went to pick up the vehicle. Every time I asked a question, he muttered and basically told me to read the paper he handed me. This was my first impression of this location. Rude and not helpful. The actual affordable concept of using the uhaul cargo van was great and it made my moving process a little better. However, when I went back to return it, I was reminded of how much I dislike this location. The paper, which he told me to read, said that if I don’t return the vehicle with the estimated amount of gas written on that paper, I will be charged $4.50 per gallon. I know that I was WELL under a gallon of what was expected to be returned. Not even a quart. With that in mind, I decided I would give the van back as was after my move. I figured if I was going to put gas, it would only be $5 anyway. After inspecting the van, the employee told me he was going to charge me $10 for gas. After pointing out the text from the paper, he continued to disagree and refused to explain why it was $10 and not AT MOST $4.50. It honestly felt like because I was a female and alone, he was trying to take advantage and charge me whatever he felt like. I don’t like to play the sexist card but I can’t shake the feeling that if I didn’t stand my ground, I would’ve paid way more than I had to. As much as I appreciated the assistance I initially got from Uhaul’s 1-800 customer service line and the help that uhaul’s cargo van provided me, this whole “neighborhood dealer” location has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Our car broke down on the way to drop daughter off at college..we needed a vehicle, just before going through Holland Tunnel. We quickly found ,DDAR rentals their computer was down and having never use the phone to do something like this we did the best we could to set up everything for the van rental.When we tried to return the truck in NJ we found that we were suppose to return to Jersey City..We called uhaul asking for help with this because we didnt have a vehicle and we were denied the right to leave it at the Uhaul dealer close to us in NJ..causing us more of a problem since our vehicle was towed home and at the garage...U-haul could have been a stand up company and given us some leeway on this one.
