The whole "preferred location / actual pick up location" was a confusing and time-wasting endeavor. I chose one location as my pickup, but in all the updates from Uhaul, the pickup address went back and forth between the one I chose and the one I ultimately had to pick up from. Showing up to my chosen location, there were no more trucks to be had. I then had to walk all the way over to the next location to get my truck. If there was something more obvious in the communication I received that my chosen location was over-booked, I could have easily saved myself time by going to another one.

I was over charged for gas. They said tank was full and I only drove 11.5 miles. When I returned they added and made me pay for 3.6 gallons at over $11. How does 11.5 miles translate into 3.6 gallons? I am requesting a refund of my entire gas bill. Total scam!!

When my husband started the truck, the low tire pressure light came on. Tire was inflated at pick-up, but he had to stop on the way to reinflate. For a long-distance drive, the truck should have probably been changed at the pick-up site.

Made a reservation beforehand,but as I got there, the guy in the counter said theres no car, and I said I have a reservation, but he kept repeating no car. I waited 40mins and finally got the car but no one ever said sorry. Also returning process was very slow and picky. I started with full fuel and returned full as well but the guy said its not full and he fueled more. Still, when I returned it the fuel pointer was pointing to full but he wanted more. The worst uhaul experience at this location.

I did not know I did not have to wait in line to get my keys after checking out the vehicle with my phone and getting the confirmation to show them. when there is a line for the register, I would suggest that they ask if anyone checked out in line and just needs keys. Both of the men working were very nice professional and helpful.

When I visit first time & showed my reservation they told that no trucks available. I tried to reach customer care but was waiting for long time & finally lost call. Finally some one from 276 Tonnele Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306 helped me to check my order & told reserved truck number in 597 Luis Munoz Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ 07310. Since I already reserved service elevators for move, I faced hard time to finish on time.

When I arrived at the address listed on my reservation to pick up the truck, the employee there told me my truck was at a different address. As if moving wasn't stressful enough, I had to walk across town in 87° heat to where my truck actually was because U-Haul gave me the wrong address. The new location was an overcrowded gas station. I had to wait for 5 other people to get their trucks which took over 45 minutes because the computer was down. What a waste of time! All in all, a very poor experience and I will not be using U-Haul again.

1.Wrongly indicated gas level with a big circle that covered more than half the indicator scale and I had to fill more than I used. Had to fill 6.5 gallons for about 52 miles usage. is a shared store and I had to wait until all his cigarette and convenience store customers are taken care even though I went in as second customer. Uhaul customers has to wait until all other store customers are cleared.

I placed my order online for pick up in Newark, however, when I received text confirmation the location was changed to Jersey City. The system should not have allowed me book a trailer for Newark if there were none available.

First my reservation was given to the wrong person. Second, even after that person gave the attendant their phone number and said that the reservation name was not their own the attendant still gave them the van and charged my card! When I later arrived to pick up the van the attendant said “You already picked up your reservation earlier.” He then showed me a signed receipt with my name on it and the earlier person’s signature. He then put in a new reservation on the spot for for me and did not say anything about charging my card for the earlier reservation. He then charged me a second time for the current reservation. Not until I was later in the day contacted by the corporate office and notified I was charged twice did I realized this. When I returned the next day to ask the same attendant why I was charged twice and how he allowed somebody with the wrong name to take my reservation and charge my card when they show ID he said he “doesn’t look at the ID.” He then said to call the corporate office and they could fix it without even offering an apology for his error.

I rent Uhauls at least once a week for work purposes, but will never use your company again after my experience moving my personal belongings across town to my new home . I was cheated into paying for twice the rental rate and twice the insurance charge even though I was within the 12 hour time frame I reserved. I traveled FOUR MILES. The representative took my truck and said the receipt would be emailed to me. Maybe he waited a couple hours to enter it into the system, and at that point i was out of my 12 hour window. I have used the same location today as well as this past Friday. On Friday I drove 33 miles and had to add 5 gallons of fuel. Today I drove 11 miles and added 4 gallons of fuel. It is not possible that the smallest vans available are getting this poor of mileage. The vehicle I drove Friday showed a lifetime average of 11 mpg and the van I drove today showed 10.5 mpg. I am being an honest person and filling up the vehicles that are being handed off to me not full. It is not a fair system.
