SERIOUSLY?!?! This is an open PARKING LOT BEHIND AN OFFICE BUILDING. Who thought this up? NO SIGNAGE ANYWHERE to indicate that the far back corner was a “Self-serve U-Haul location”. The only reason that I found the site was because I pulled into the lot to turn my truck around! Just happened to see 3 other U-Haul trucks in the back, so I drove over - then saw that you had cleverly hidden a thin post with 24”x36” sign, facing away from the approach in the lot. Good choice! Some other schlub like I was trying to use your app to drop off a van, unsuccessfully it appeared by his manner. He told me that the only reason he knew where this was - he worked in the next door building! Didn’t help him trying to check out, though… So, i called your main office, thank you Hannah, who tried to find me someone, ANYONE (it’s ~2pm Tuesday), at ‘the local U-Haul office’ to assist me. While on the phone, an unknown gentleman approached me to offer his kindly assistance: “are you trying to drop off the truck? You can’t leave it here.” Wasn’t my first choice, no, but… “Use the app.” Couldn’t, unfortunately, as the app would only allow me to rent a new truck, not drop off the one I had previously scheduled to drop off at this exact site… “Ok, move and park the truck, then give me the key.” Do you have ANY ID on you? (Like to prove you work for the company, rather than be stealing the truck…) “No” (deep,sigh on his part) “I don’t. Just give me the key and we can check you out.” No, just show me some ID, THEN I’ll give you the key and (gladly) get out of here. (tough guy attitude, BUT WHINING!) “fine, we can go back to my office and do this there” Office? Where? I don’t see either an office or a U-Haul sign, so, No, Thanks - I don’t wish to accompany you, stranger, to somewhere less open than this parking lot… Eventually my wife lost patience with the situation and just told me to give him the key and take his picture. He didn’t like that, so I didn’t, but he DID pull out his phone and being the checkout process, showing me for the FIRST TIME that me might be a genuine employee! He told me his name is: “Gino”. He didn’t know that the original reservation was changed (different and further away pick up location ) and that I was supposed to have compensating additional mileage, nor was he able to check in this, so he told me. I have no idea how he came up with extra charge for the eventual additional Reddit card total… I also had 9 u-haul boxes to be returned: 3 large 3 X-Tra large 3 Dish He ‘didn’t have the ability to list them separately, just 9 total’, and that I should just leave them in the truck, as ‘someone would be by later this week or next to check them back in and then someone would get in touch with me about whether there would be a refund (for the new and intact u-haul extras).’ I kinda’ doubt that I’ll be seeing any credit - they’re probably already resold on the street, as I have no receipts!

There was dirt and food in the can of the truck.
Elizabeth HI love this location, but I encountered an issue with my order. I had requested a dolly for the day, but when I picked up the truck, it was not included. I ended up spending over 20 minutes driving to another location to retrieve the dolly I had ordered. I wish the manager could check all orders before leaving for the day to ensure that customers receive everything they need along with the truck. On another note, I found the U-Haul app to be user-unfriendly. It was difficult to load everything, and for both the pickup and return processes, I spent about 30 to 40 minutes completing each one.
MAE HAssociated didn’t show up. Caused some initial confusion - especially given the text to me that I was 10 minutes late. I ended up doing everything over the phone and my mobile app. That said - the guy on the phone was awesome and truck was ready to go.
