My experience was unusual, but not because of anyone associated with Uhaul. When I tried to return the truck, the location was within a police perimeter that had been set up because of an active shooter situation in the area. The police wouldn't let me drive the truck from the perimeter to the location even though the location was, literally, within an _easy_ stone's throw of the perimeter. I parked the truck in a nearby hotel parking lot that was outside the perimeter and the police let me walk to the rental location (explain that!). The location manager was still there and helped me work with Uhaul to figure out what to do with the truck. The decision was made to leave the truck in the hotel parking lot (with their permission) and the location staff would recover the truck when possible. I know the truck was recovered because I have received a revised receipt based on my actual milage. I appreciated everyone's effort to resolve this unusual situation successfully. I'll bet you don't have many associates who have been through _that_ experience!

You need to let people know to get there at least 30 min before due to how long it takes to check out the truck. You need to tell customers they will still need to be approved which takes 15 or more minutes and then all the pictures you have to take and that the app glitches so much you can’t get checked in without having to call the main office to get help. I was so irritated with the whole ordeal! 40 minutes just to check out a truck…40 minutes out of my 4 hours. I got the truck back with 10 min to spare but I didn’t get to do everything and that 40 minutes would have let me. Horrible process! Plus you didn’t leave a dolly that I asked for. Yes I’ won’t get charged but I needed it. Get better!

I reserved the uhaul weeks before I picked it up, showed up to the main street location and they didn't have a 15 ft truck available. I got sent to another location but had to have a friend come pick me up since I rode my bycicle there to get it. I got a text saying my truck would be available at 8:45, I get there at 8:45 and the place doesn't open until 9:30. So I sat and waited, they open at 9:30 and now they can't find the keys to the truck that I've rented. Also was not able to pick up my utility dolly because they didn't have one even tho I reserved one of those too. The truck I got was in decent shape, the floor of the cab was pretty dirty with dog hair and sand, 2 of the 3 "cigarette lighter" outlets did not work. Over all this was a long, drawn out , very frustrating process. I was suppose to have my truck at 8am and didn't get one until past 10 am. First and last time using uhauls services

We had a 26 ft. uhaul. We were moving from Gainesville to New Port Richey about 2 hours with about 80 miles on I-75. We had to exit the highway because the truck would not do 60 miles per hour and if you ran the AC on the highway the truck sputtered at around 50 MPH which is very unsafe. We were forced to exit onto rt 40 and drive side roads at 50mp with no AC for the remainder of the trip. This was reported to the drop off location who were generally indifferent to the issue and certain didn't offer an opology or any form of compensation. ya, thanks for letting us know..... I'll the boss.

They did not check truck. They said that it is full gas and so on. Truck had a issue with trailer. Left turning does not work at all. Because of this I spent my three hours tryiing to figure out if it is trailer or truck. I change trailer, but issue is still there. No one helped me with loading my car and manager was rush saying she is not trained for loading car. I asked some basic questions such as how to tighten front wheel and loasen it. Trailer had an accident and bar is curved instead sraight, and it had wood that stuck in one side. Manager told me that you can have it. Clearly how can rational person load the car that has wood one side but not another side? I told her that wood is stuck there because previous renter had an accident and that person could not take it out. Please, work on managers to use common sense rules instead of saying I am not trained for that. Next issue is that when I tried to pick the truck, and manager told me that I have an outstanding issue and have to make a call. I made a call and they said that I already paid for that. I do not know why previous my renting has been charged one month late with $73 but the orgional is $53. I presented card and id, but they charged it after month. Please, make sure that charging happens right after return the truck. This time they charged for insurance and so on. As you can see I return in one day with less mileage. I do not get anything for that.

I would never recommend mobile pickup service. I have always rented from uhal but this was the worst experience I've ever had. We called customer service, they transferred us to someone. The next person transferred us to another person. Then we finally were speaking to the right people when they were unempathetic. They blamed it on my phone not being compatible when they told me I was on the right page to access the truck. Well it was not after all. They were rude and impatient. The person who verified my security contact hung up on them without giving them instructions on what to expect next. By the time we got access to the uhal it was an hour and a half after the check in time that we waited which delayed the whole moving process. What if we didn't have that kind of time to waste? We chose this service because we expected it would be quicker and easier. Never again. I rented a dolly that was never on the truck. Had to reach out to get refunded for that and luckily when I explained the situation to the person at this place they gave our miles back to us. But on a day that's stressful for people who are moving to lack empathy and customer service is unacceptable. I might use uhal again but I know better not to go back to this place or to use the mobile check in. I hope this is not a regular thing that customers deal with. I was thankful for a truck to move my belongings but something needs to change.

No dolly an available and the person name Mark did not verify if a dolly was available nor charging my old credit card was correct. Then the Manager told me to contact Uhaul because she can’t help me and tried to provide me with a different location meanwhile I had a limited time because the place kept the windows open of the time although I checked the truck out after 9:30 am. I was unhappy overall!

Charged for equipment that wasn't available for me to use. Impossible to submit a refund or dispute. Truck was extremely dirty. Was told at pickup that I would be reimbursed for any gas I put that was extra and that was not the case.

The service I received was excellent, the lady in charge was so kind and helpful. However, I was charged more than I expected. There were safe move charges, some additional service that I didn’t not request or indicate anywhere. So this made me not recommending Uhaul rental for somehow to my friends and refrain me using the service again.

What a mess! There's no place to park the trucks. I had to pull up on a curb in front of the location. I also had to knock on the door for quite a while before the gentleman inside would open. When I said I was returning the truck, he took the key and said I didn't need a receipt. Then I got an email from U-Haul saying my equipment was never returned. After four phone calls to U-Haul, this place finally checked the truck in. I will avoid this place and any other place affiliated with it in the future.

No contract printed out and when I reviewed my Amex bill it had an additional $30 safe move fee. Since no one in rental center review it with me I didn't know it would be on it. All the rental place did was check ID and CC and hand me a key. When I checked the gas tank it was short an 1/8th of a tank and I had to go back in to correct what he told the amount was in the tank.

I made a reservation for mobile pick up at 9 AM. After having to speak to someone on the phone, because the app would not let me check in, I begun the check in process. I got to the step where I was given the lock box instructions. I followed the steps and upon opening the lockbox, I find no key left there for me. I then had to wait until the location opened at 9:30 AM. When I went into the office once they opened, the agent behind the desk was unfazed and unapologetic. He actually admitted they did that on purpose because they want to hand deliver the keys. My reservation was for 9AM. If I cannot retrieve my key for that time, why allow the reservation for that time? I get the keys, continue on with the checking in process and the furniture pads I had ordered with the reservation are nowhere to be found. I go back in the office and the representative who was clearly unconcerned informed me he doesn’t even think they have any. He then looked in a back room and handed me 3 furniture pads that he so happened to have (used). I paid for a dozen. I didn’t leave the location with the truck until 10. My reservation (once again) was at 9. I felt used and unappreciated as a customer. I was basically forced into a situation that I had no say in (because I was given different information during the online reservation process than what that location would allow) knowing full wel that it would be too late for me to be able to go anywhere else or cancel for a refund (the day of a move). I then went to drop the truck back off and the office was closed yet again! I called (for the third time) and was told someone would be reaching back to me to assist with my full refund request.

Truck was with a strong smoke odor. When asking the attendant to replace it, she refused saying all other trucks were “assigned” that’s unacceptable. Truck must be treated to eliminate odor.

Not happy with the $20 charge for after-hours drop off. The agent did not mention that charge when we told him we were going to do that. Did parking it outside and dropping the key in the door slot really generate $20 more work on your part?

The lady who helped me the previous day was extremely nice, however the white man the next morning was extremely rude for no apparent reason. I had never met him and out right you could tell that he didn’t care to help me, I asked him if he could put something in the trash he responded “no” plain and simple.. I then sat in the parking lot gathering trash and I realized my card had been declined at U-Haul so since I was still present I went into the office to let him know I can pay for it right there he told me since he had already ran the payment I could follow the instructions in the email because I would be sent a promissory note. I didn’t understand why he couldn’t just take my payment in the store… He seemed super racist

I have no complaints about the property or anything but they need to communicate better with each other. I was suppose to turn the truck in at 3pm but didn’t get off until 4. I was told to just park the truck and put the keys in the drop box when I return it so I wouldn’t get charge the extra fee. I got charged for two extra days because the person I spoke with didn’t leave a note for the person that came in the following day. When I called the lady gave me a number to uhaul. I contacted them and she said she would reach out to the property manager to do the refund. This happened Monday Dec 5 and I have yet to see a refund or no one has followed up with me.

Uhaul representative told me to not use the online check-in and did not check gas or condition of truck. He did not give printed copy of receipt/condition either. After returning the truck in same condition (wear and gas), I was charged for not returning with same amount of gas. Claims it dropped by 1/8 of tank. I drove 14 miles and put 1.5 gallons of gas in. No tow/haul used and no traffic. Very dismissive when I asked about it. Says nothing he could do. Very crooked/lazy.
