I rented a van for 2 hours and drove. About 15 Mile I took a picture when I took the car off the lot.. And I put in 2 gallon of gas. And I just got a text saying that they charge me the gasoline service, which is outrageous. Bad customer service. I will never ever go back to this location again. Stop the money. It's the principle right matter!!!

I was told that I needed to log into the Uhaul website to checkout if I returned the truck after hours. I tried to do that for an hour and could never find the check-out on the website. This should be an extremely easy process and it was extremely frustrating. I don't want to be charged an extra $20 for not finding the button.

I was ripped off. Over charged. I received the truck on a 1/2 tank of gas, but I was charged for not filling up the tank. The truck was very, very dirty and had a foul odor like it had never been cleaned or disinfected. I had to disinfect and clean the truck before driving it and transporting my belongings. I will never again rent from this location or refer anyone to this location. Never.

The rental pickup time was 30 minutes before this location was closed. I got to the place 2-3 minutes before my rental time started and the gate to the lot was locked with no sign of any employees. I called the office number and left a voicemail. I was sitting in my car for 10 minutes waiting on hold with the 1-800 uhaul number for customer support when I saw the employee show up and unlock the gate.

The truck leaked rain water all over my stuff and the uhaul attendant tried to charge me for 15 gallons of gas when I only drove 3 miles. He became elevated when I disagreed and would hardly speak to me.

The customer service was great. However, returning the truck after hours with the online service would not work. I returned the truck before it was due back but the website would not work. After trying to go through the online instructions for a half-hour, I gave up. I was charged $20 for the after-hours service fee because of a poor website. This was very frustrating and disappointing.

Changed rental rate without my knowledge. Staff stated I was lucky that he was able to fix s dent on the right side of the vehicle or else he would charge me much more. Charged me double the mileage.

Maybe try not to block the person in for 20min when they are paying for the time. I also did not choose this location I chose one in Berkeley which the original text said then it changed it randomly and only sent a text with new address. There were no blankets available either.

Everything is ok until I noticed that I got charged doubled miles at the end. Unfortunately I didn’t check the miles in the beginning and have to pay the extra money. REMEMBER to CHECK the miles on your own before and after, take pictures with it, so that you can use them for dispute in case of any surprise at the end.

The Ford cargo vans are far superior to the very poor ergonomic GM cargo vans in every possible way. GM’ s are awful to drive with a poor turning radius and terrible handling. They don’t even have a key fob/clicker.

1. Van smelled like pee 2. Contract was literally too small to read due to printer problem. 3. Person who checked in van the night before entered the wrong mileage so my 22-ish mile trip was almost charged as 56 miles. 4. Staff at location was very nice and helpful.

- App switched the pick up location on me, just a few hours before pick up, days AFTER confirming the correct location and time that I had selected, less than 12 hours before my scheduled move. - The new bait-and-switch pick up location was in a fairly unsafe area for me to travel to at night, when the pick up was scheduled. - On arrival, entry to pick up was locked. After waiting to speak to a representative, I was informed that - There was no uhaul within travel distance for me. - When I finally was able to connect with a UHaul vehicle, even though the order was already created online, I had to re-answer all of the same questions and reupload my drivers license, making all of the work of creating the profile for the online system a redundant and a waste. - I had to find another vehicle to use, and pay my large item movers $125/ hr to wait on me while I scrambled to access a vehicle and accompany them to the 2nd location. I also ended up having to make 2 trips instead of 1 because there was no time to pack the vehicle I used to accompany the movers. - Uhaul offered to pay their policy $50, but that amount in no way covers the 2 trips, second vehicle, and mover-wait time I was then forced to pay because of Uhaul's last minute cancellation of my move. - I put in a complaint over the phone with a representative and have yet to hear back. The first representative I spoke with seemed to also feel that my treatment by the online system was strange, and the second one seemed frankly not to care at all. If this is what I am to expect, I will never use the UHaul online system again, and after the ~ $150 and stress that UHauls last minute, unapologetic cancellation caused me, Based on this experience, I'd recommend to others just putting that money towards a responsible local moving company.

The return process when dropping off a U-Haul after hours. Impress upon customers that one must log in to Uhaul and obtain odometer/mileage photos before dropping off the keys in the drop off box. This was not clear and cost me extra time on the phone. Also, if using an iPhone and Safari browser, it would be helpful for UHaul to note the steps in flipping settings to track location; it isn't immediately apparent and could delay people in the dropoff process.

Charged me for gas despite the fact my contract said price for gas refill was $0.00. Overall, I’d describe UHaul charging a daily rate and mileage rate and expecting gas refill as double-dipping++ on cost. Make it one actual price like rental car companies.

I picked up a van that had a quarter of a tank of gas. I was charged $7 for gas upon returning the van even though I returned it at a quarter of tank. I took pictures as proof and was still told I owed for gas. I had to ask the attendant to stop the couple who was about to drive off in the truck. We both looked at it and it read a quarter of a tank. I am very disappointed to know that Uhaul is ripping people off like this. The attendant refunded me but said that the truck was slightly on an incline downward and that is why the gas read incorrect. I took my pictures while the truck was leveled. I will never rent at this location again and will ALWAYS be sure that my final charges are correct before leaving. Also they take money under the table. I paid $7 cash for a dolly because I forgot to add it at time of rental. It was not included on my final receipt so that means it was put in somebody’s pocket.

The app only worked up to a point. The truck that I was supposed to drive was buried behind many other trucks. I ended up asking the attendant for help and then I had to give him my credit card again. I wouldn’t use the app in the future- extra work and a waste of time

The vehicle was not maintained properly. The power steering was very noisy. It leaked in my driveway. So that was either the brakes or the power steering The oil for bout is red. They both made a loud noise when used

I had a negative experience as I ended up paying significantly more than the amount I was quoted and the amount that would have been fair. I was supposed to return the Uhaul by 2:30pm on Sunday when the location was closed, but in all fairness I did not get it back until more like 3:30pm. I left the vehicle in the designated location and returned the key, but I did not know I had to check in using my cell phone as I was accustomed to renting Uhauls without this caveat. Around 6:00pm I realized that I was supposed to check it back in with the phone and allow it to access my location, so I traveled back to the Uhaul location to complete the process on the phone by around 7:00pm. By that time the vehicle was already moved by a Uhaul employee. I was charged for the extra time (upwards of 3.5 extra hours) along with a fee for not having completed the check-in on my phone early enough, despite the associated fee being described as inured when the employee checked in the vehicle the "next day." I brought up my frustration the next day to the employee who I had been working with, but he indicated there was nothing that could be done about the excessive charges. The inflexibility of Uhaul in this scenario shows that their system was set up to make profit on small inconsequential mistakes such as failing to adapt to their new system by promptly checking in the uhaul on my phone. The rental ended up costing almost twice what it should have, which made the task I completed with it not really worth it, and the whole experience left a rather bad taste in my mouth. I will think twice before renting from Uhaul again, and will choose to pursue other options.

Your online reservation system is a complete mess! Even though I picked the location and time AND received a confirmation number, that didn't AT ALL mean that I was able to rent my vehicle from the location I picked nor the time I picked. So very WEIRD!! Why would you send a CONFIRMATION # if the parameters I chose were not actually CONFIRMED! It also said that someone from U-Haul would be contacting me to REconfirm. No one contacted me. I will DEFINITELY HESITATE before choosing U-Haul again.

Customer service was terrible. Rude attendants. I came to get it and did not realize I could not leave my car there so I said I would be back in 15 minutes. Upon my arrival he was gone. Door locked and not answering phone. I had to call to get 800 help. Then when he arrived(20 minutes later) I very clearly said I may need it longer and asked what would happen if I needed to bring it back after closing. The guy who checked me out told me about key drop etc. when I returned the guy was angry that I didn’t bring it back on time and was arguing that he left me a vm and needed the truck back. Rude. I will probably discontinue working with uhaul In the future. In addition the tank should be full upon pick up so that we can easily fill upon return. It is a scam that I have to guess and keep putting money in the tank to see if it gets the the fill line. Absolutely terrible.

There is a long wait and no bathrooms. Also, the process for self-check-in with the app has to be more intuitive which could have reduced the pick up time a whole lot.

I did not appreciate changing my location from Gilman 6th street location to here at the last minute. This location crew are great and very helpful, but the online system ended up switching the location and it delayed all my move by one day. I had to pay for one more day or rental plus one more day of labor. As a result my move costed twice! Not to mention the extra milage and gas charges due to going to 7 mile distance location change!

1) things I’d ordered online didn’t appear in the system and I had to re-order 2) vehicle condition photos weren’t accurate. photo listed as passenger side was driver side. 3) Person in charge was hard to understand and had to print paperwork 4x before it was accurate. I’m honestly not sure what I signed.

My overall experience with this rental was disappointing and frustrating. When talking with the Rep we had agreed the rental truck was going to be dropped off at Concord location, but when I called to confirm the drop off location it was in Martinez location which was never agreed too. Also, I had to go to 4 different U-Hauls to get the truck I reserved 3 weeks in advance and confirmed the day before too.
