DYI Guy was great to work with and got us on the road very quickly. The problem was with U-Haul's reservation system. My son had booked a 6×12 enclosed trailer weeks in advance, but when we arrived at the Corner Brook location, there wasn't one available for us. Instead, they only had a much smaller trailer that was nowhere near big enough for what we needed. Since our move had to happen that day, we were left scrambling. We ended up calling around ourselves and finally found a 6×12 trailer in Stephenville. We had to drive from Corner Brook to Stephenville to get it, and by the time we arrived, the trailer we had booked just an hour earlier was almost rented to someone else. DYI Guy provided excellent service and got us on the road quickly. Unfortunately, our experience with U-Haul's reservation system was very frustrating and caused a lot of unnecessary stress.

BEVERLY VWhen I rented the equipment, the back of the truck was full of mud and smelled like rotten fish. I had to take the unit to the car, wash and pressure wash the back of the unit. The cargo box before I could use this unit. Very disappointed in the cleanliness

Chris ISpoke with the representative at this location after dealing with U-Haul roadside in Nova Scotia who was a very arrogant new canadian telling us we were late with our truck after U-Haul messed up the original booking. He directed me to a phone number that U-Haul in Arizona has never heard of and it said I would be charged $3.89 to speak to a representative! WTF U-Haul you have a new Canadian scamming people in Canada! The nice lady from Arizona was very helpful and was going to have her boss investigate the phone number and charges I was told I would incur just to speak to a representative. The truck had developed an engine light about 30 min before our destination. When we started the truck again at our destination it was flashing and misfiring. I told this to the representative from Nova Scotia at roadside when he called and said we were late, he didn’t care and needed the truck for another client. I said you can’t rent this truck as it’s leaking and is miss firing, he was adamant that it be returned and rented. Understanding English will significantly help some of U-Hauls representatives. The truck was loaded on a tow truck and hauled to a shop for repairs. The gentleman I was to return the truck to in Stephenville was great on the phone and warned me that a bad review reflects on him which is total BS as her had nothing to do with screwing up the booking or the truck we were given.

PETER WDrove it from Stephenville newfoundland to grandvalley Ontario. It shook vilantly and felt like the wheels were going to fall off. Truck wasn't fit to drive and shouldn't have been on the road. Should be given at least a discount for the rental since it damaged some of my furniture due to the shaking

Jennifer DVery bad customer service, they hang up on you after having your phone number and don’t try to call you back… talked for over 30 minutes with someone to help, they hang up on me and wait for them to call back after they did so and nothing… call back and waste another half hour or so to get keys. Stood by bldg an hour to get keys absolutely ridiculous
Wanda WI dealt with Mr. Harold Porter who was very helpful and good at explaining the process to me. We picked up the truck early Saturday morning and had it back before Noon. This was an easy way to move as everything fitted into the one truck and our drive from one location in-town to another in-town location was a short distance. Paperwork was taken care of and transaction was complete. Thank you for the service. Kippens, NL

BLAIR RYou can get your employee new equipment to work with. And some extra trucks. Shame, he's such an asset to your company and has to deal with what he got, and the one in Corner Brook is spoiled with up to date computers, trucks, vans, etc. Harold made it an excellent experience.
