The trailer was actually dropped off at Power Zone, 2700 Roanoke St, Christiansburg, VA, 24073 due to inability of the original drop off being able to accept it. I tried to drop off the trailer at Dominion Land and auction, and no one was there. Not a problem, I dropped off the trailer in the designated lot, which is across a 4 lane divide highway away from the office, very inconvenient, and then waited for some one to show up. When they did, they told me that they could not accept the trailer due to have no room, yet I found a spot in the disheveled, pot hole ridden, gravel lot to park it. They told me that I would have to take it to another place and gave the address. So, I had to go back to the lot, reconnect the trailer and then drive 15 minutes further away to drop it off. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a uhaul drop off, and will definitely think twice before using uhaul again. On the positive side, the gentleman at Power Zone was courteous, friendly and quick.Anthony P.

As a moving company owner, that rents regularly from uhaul. This location was bad to begin with. But after Dylan Howard and his girlfriend started running this location, it went down hill (which was seemingly impossible). They have threatened me and other customers (according to my moving clients) with physical assault for no reason except for being bullies. My moving customer stated they had to call the police due to Dylan's violent behavior. Multiple customers of mine and myself included have been charged multiple days extra for uhauls likely due to Dylan's gross negligence and failure to turn in our trucks. In addition, I have witnessed the owner of the lot, Dave Beasley (who is Dylan's boss) curse out clients on two different occasions for little reasons. I have heard Dave Beasley call one of those customers the N-word as well. The place is hard to navigate through and is disgusting. But the people here make it even more unbearable. Dylan and David have disrespected multiple people and it's hard to believe this is a reputable businessEverett V.

We were not told the office was closed from 12-1 even though our pickup time was 12. He did not reply to our text. We came back and picked it up at 1:30. We returned it one day early at 11:08 on 8/6. He just dropped the keys in after hour return slot and went back to his car detailing business. Assured us he would process it and only charge for one day. He charged for two.LAURIE C.
The trailer is not well-maintained and the parking lot where it is stored is also not well-maintained. The wires wouldn't stay connected and two of them were cut and it banged up and down like crazy (it was attached correctly). Just could use some attention.Jennifer P.

There was a lot of confusion about our reservation including: 1. We were told there was no truck for us, and that the large truck had been overbooked so none were available. 2. We were then told that there was a truck but there were no keys for it. 3. We found the keys ourselves in the ignition. 4. All of the confusion caused us to receive our rental quite late which impacted many things related to the job we needed the truck for. We actually rented another truck when we thought our reservation was not going to be fulfilled and then we had to cancel that one.Cindy B.

Dropped off trailer on 7/19/22 about 1:00 PM. Sign on door said they were out to lunch. Called phone # and listened to a lengthy recording that, among other things, said to leave the trailer in a lot across the street. Did that but there was no instruction as to where in the lot to put it. After spending about 20 minutes on my own trying to back the thing into a reasonable place, I left it there and went back to the office. Someone was there now and I asked for a receipt showing I had returned it. He said he would go over to the other lot at 5:00 PM and check it in and then I would get an email. After not receiving and email two days later I tried to reach the office and had to listen to the same lengthy voice message, in which there was an instruction to text to a different number if I wanted assistance. I did that, requesting a receipt for my returned trailer. I got no response to my text. The receipt finally came from U-Haul on 7/23/22 with incorrect information about when it was returned. That was 4 days after it was returned. When I return rental equipment I like to get proof that I did so right away, or at least by the next day. Can't reach the location by phone either.Robert S.
Service was slow and confusing, with having to track someone down who was shuffling trucks to get the keys. The 15 foot truck received was almost out of gas on pickup, had very concerning noise coming from the font left wheel (sounded like a bad wheel bearing) and the steering wheel was about 20 degrees off of center when going perfectly straight. Luckily we weren't one of the 2 or 3 other trucks in the lot with flat tires, but very well could have been. Not a great experience, but did get the job done without any breakdowns, and the truck was at least available for pickup as promised.Alex K.

My drop off experience was HORRIBLE. There was ABSOLUTELY NO REPRESENTATIVE at any point that I was ever able to reach by phone or text. I dropped the uhual per instructions on their voicemail and texted as they said to on their voicemail. It is now 6 days later and I have not heard from a single person. After 5 days of worrying if I would be charged for something (like being late since no one acknowledged that the trailer had been returned) I finally got an email from uhual.com that it had been received. This is the worst business I have interacted with in a long time. I cannot imagine how frustrating it would have been if I was trying to pick up a uhual. How would I ever get a human to finish the check out? The absolute worst and so disappointing.Steven W.

The truck we reserved was double booked. Luckily I was able to complete reservations first so I didn't have any trouble except the other guy waiting for the same truck was not happy. The check engine light was on in the truck and DH refused to give me anything in writing to acknowledge the light was on. The location is dangerous to have to walk back and forth across a road. First thing Saturday morning 10 people at the door, took forever to get the trailer. Utility trailer pulls like crap. I've rent this one 3 times and a different one twice from another uhaul place. The other trailers pulled good but this one doesn't. Decided to check the tires and low and behold it's at 20 lbs, way under inflated. After I pumped up the tires it pulled a little better but not much. The other uhaul place checked my car and hitch because it's their policy, this one doesn't check anything. My girlfriend rented a U-Haul and furniture Dolly's , they made her hunt them down herself. She went through 10 uhauls before she found themjoey D.

The young man who was the only employee at that location did an excellent job despite the demands of the job. He had dozens of rentals to handle all by himself. I felt very badly for him. I used the drop off box and had the fuel at the same level as when I picked up the truck in Virginia Beach but this location put 5 more gallons of fuel in the truck, charging me $31. I'm so disappointed with Uhaul. I'll probably never use your company again and I will encourage everyone I know to not use Uhaul also.James R.

If a requested vehicle is not available when signing up online, it would be helpful to know that at that time rather than finding out 2 days before you are scheduled for pickup/drop off that you're being redirected to a different location. TL;DR - The PEOPLE here are absolutely fantastic, but our truck had some issues. The man who worked the office was so awesome and nice, as was Mitch (the telephone guy)! Both of them were so helpful and accommodating, and they worked very hard to get us out of there as quickly and painlessly as possible, despite some technical problems through the reservation system. They also worked with us to make up for a corporate reservation error, and apologized profusely for the inconvenience. The dolly I originally requested wasn't available, but I wasn't charged for it. However, the truck itself had some issues. There were holes in the roof that we weren't aware of (both in the cargo area and in the cab) and it rained the days we were driving it - thankfully nothing was damaged. The gas was well-below what was expected on pick up, so we had to top up early, which was expensive. There was also only one furniture pad in the truck, which was not in the bag on the side, and it was SOAKING WET; we didn't need it, but it was inconvenient to avoid it while loading.Brynn M.

Moving is an extremely stressful process to begin with. The last thing customers want is to have a wrench thrown in the process and injury to insult. This is the third (consecutive) time I've had issues with truck share, all of which resulting in my plans being destroyed and stress going through the roof. If someone reserves an 8 am truck share and they arrive at 8 am to â€œsorry not truck share not available, see employee when store opensâ€ and the excuse is â€œthe employee didn't set it up for truck shareâ€ that is not remotely close to an acceptable excuse. It cost me time with paid movers, amounting to well over $100. I would not have made this post if this wasn't the THIRD time I've had similar issues at this same location.
