ROBERT PCannot pull uhaul onto property where office is located, must park across street where theres no order to parking area, key drop at office where truck is not allowed. Parking area is on a steep grade of dirt. Its dark, and there are no signs or instructions at all.
Nicholle BI would recommend location only for where is located - which was very close to my home. The office hours on internet were incorrect as posted - although this may not be the fault of the location owners but rather U-haul corporate. Someone from U-haul corporate called me to apologize. There were other customers there also thinking the business opened at 9:00 AM versus 10:00 AM. Equipment ordered - dolly and moving cart - were not available. There was confusion on the part of staff at location regarding availability of trucks and during process of checking out.
SCOTT MWe were told the truck had a quarter tank of gas and it was on empty. There was garbage in the truck, cups, bottles, empty wrappers. Upon check out we asked to be rung up right away and we were met with resistance and not nice behavior and were told you will get the receipt when we get to it. There was only one other customer in the store. When we were finally charged it was an overcharge. We drove 9 miles and were charge 54 miles. The office was closed by that time. We had to call the next morning and the not so nice people at that office said it’s too late for them to do anything g and we had to call the 800 #. Upon calling the 800 # and providing the necessary photos of the mileage they agreed we were due a refund and we were told to wait 3 days. Well, we waited and when the charge was no longer pending g on the CC and was final there was no change. So the next day I had to call again and finally we got someone who actually cares. After hearing g the story he kept me on the line while resolving and I saw the credit come through. I will do anything to never rent a uhaul again.
Amelia RAbsolute joke of a U-Haul franchise. Hung up on yelled at in physical location and blamed for parking a truck in the grass in a full parking lot without any space left at a time they knew the truck was returning. Charged cleaning fee and called a dumbass for parking the truck.
RICHARD LEverything went smooth as for this rental, however, in the past, I’ve use this same location before and some of the people there are so slow getting through the process. They’ve been a U-haul rental for years, but it’s like it’s their first time doing the paperwork. This time was very smooth and quick.

Ryan MMy bad experience started when I picked up my rented truck and it was parked along a hillside and I barely made it out of the parking lot. When gathering my rented equipment, I was only given 6 of the 12 blankets I paid for. I was also given a utility dolly instead of an appliance dolly. My usage with the equipment was fine during the move. Things got very bad when I attempted to drop off my truck after hours at this 24-hour location and ended up getting stuck near that same hillside. I tried to park it in the only available spot in the entire lot as instructed. There were many trucks and trailers not in the appropriate areas and many other customers besides me tried to return theirs as well and didn’t know what to do. I first called customer service regarding the office not being available for emergency issues. They then could not reach the GM of this location and never returned a call to me regarding the parking situation. I had to call roadside assistance and get a tow truck to actually help me out of the stuck position because the other trucks and vans were parked inappropriately. In total, it took me over 2 hours to finally have the ability to finish my return as the tow truck arrived. During this time my wife was patiently waiting as we were hoping the rain didn’t affect our items we had sitting in our personal truck as we sat for so long and had no expectations of this situation as every other location we’ve been to has been a breeze. I would not recommend this location as it is not set up well or maintained well for U-Haul services. I will not be returning to this location.
Adam MThey have a very busy place because of the use by students at Virginia Tech University. This week is move in for the 2025-2026 year. Lots were full as well as overflow. I give them credit to keep it sane.

Steven KThe welded hooks underneath the UHaul were so rusted out, that with a couple of bumps on the road, the manifold exhaust fell off and disconnected completely. I waited outside a run down gas station for over 5 hours as I waited to go to my hotel that was two miles away. Finally, my awesome helper at roadside assistance Tameika came thru and booked me a hotel. She really was so kind and helpful, so I’m not mad at her one bit. I am, however, very disappointed in the fact that you guys made me miss out on $450 for attaching a trailer bc it inconvenienced my friend and his scheduled plan to move in by having to push back the time twice.
Josh TI was charged an After Hours service fee of 20 dollars! I wasn't made aware of the charges beforehand.
HARSHAWARDHAN POwner very rude for no reason. She told me "tire" light was on in truck. I stated I would like to have that documented so I don't get charged for it. She immediately said "no, I just won't rent to you." It was an engine light. Driver door would not shut and you could hear Road noise. Truck would not pass inspection. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
JEFFREY NUnattended drop off was both easy and quick.which created a very convenient solution. Just wish there was a bit more instruction for the rerun process (like where to place the trailer and the like).

CHARLES CMade the reservation online, and U-Haul changed the pickup location to this one without notifying me. I was supposed to have a phone call the day before to confirm equipment, location, etc, and that didn’t happen, so I initiated an online chat session and confirmed the equipment, pickup details and (changed) pickup location. When I arrived to pick up the equipment, it sounded like I might not be getting it, as the “regional manager” had come and taken several of their trucks the night before, despite pending reservations. In the end, they had one unit that had been taken out of service because of a cracked windshield, and they brought that back into service and rented it to me. So kudos to the staff at the location for making it work, but the reservation/renting process was not great.
Clifford JToo many trucks sent to this location there was no room to drop the truck. Seems like UHaul logistics needs to improve as other sites in the area had plenty of room. These kinds of things make and otherwise nice experience into a very frustrating experience.

CRAIG KPick up location was great, your application and call centers need a lot of work. I consult businesses for a living and would love to give you feedback on how to make your app and call center better. My experience with both was repetitive and painful. I highly suggest you mystery shop both the app and call centers.
SHANE KThe staff is friendly and try hard to get things done, but the office is a mess: a tiny shack seemingly made of cardboard which can only fit a half-a-dozen people at a time and filled with "stuff". There are no supplies available (no furniture blankets, ties, dollies, or anything else). Everything is very hectic and disorganized: lots of cell phone calls (no landlines in the building) to outside people, presumably supervisors to "find" this or that truck, despite ALL customers showing up with paid contracts in hand. No physical help or guidance with the equipment. Expect to spend at least an hour in the office regardless of how prepared you think you are.

CLIFTON DCustomer service was pretty rude. Trucks were parked all over the place in no order, which made it really hard to return. Also, our truck needed service done to it and that was not disclosed to us.

I parked it over by the other trucks and the lady got mad and said "I just cleaned that lot and now I have to go move the truck". I also, turned it back in before 24hrs but was still charged. Not sure why I was charged with two days to begin with.
KARI BThe check in process was very slow (we waited over an hour to start the process). Either figure out a way to speed up the rental/check out process or limit reservations at specific times so you don't have 15 people waiting in line at once.

SHAWN GActually have a place to park the uhaul and not charging me extra because I didn't park it on the road and block traffic like I'd have to to park it in the "appropriate" area when both it and the overflow are full. Between charging me for a larger uhaul than I ordered and extra because yall don't have parking, in addition to the run around on pick up day, ill just hire movers instead of waste my money with places like this
WILLIAM PI suspect this location is not equipped to handle volume. When I arrived line was out the door and workers seemed overwhelmed. The equipment is scattered across multiple locations. I was sent to wrong location. Finally found someone who took us to the right lot for pickup.

DAVID RExtremely rude! Shouting and yelling for the things that they did. I was supposed to pick up a trailer and drop off at another location to help UHAUL. But, they said they don't have any, it is not their place where I am supposed to take the trailer and they don't know anything about it even though I was at the correct address what was sent to me in the contract. I called back uhaul, and they asked me to put it on speaker. The old woman at Dominion Land & Auction Company was shouting at me and the person on the phone. Old woman hung up the phone on her face and started telling me how hard this job is and how hard it is to change the contract. She was telling me I will crash with trailer and it is hard to drive and etc. Then, it turned out, they had trailers in their hand all this time, and not just 1, a parking lot full of them... I booked 2 dolly that day and they said they don't have them either and they didn't have any for 2 months now. I knew that's a lie as well because I book another truck a week before that and picked up a dolly from same location. I loved working uhaul but I think It is time to switch to a different company after this experience.
MEHMET YI requested a furniture trolley and it was not present and included that on pick up but still had to call costumers service to get that refunded after I returned it. The truck also had the wrong mileage listed on the contract and I couldn’t change it. It was a 200 mile difference from the contract and what was on the dashboard. I contacted costumers service after I had picked up the U-Haul and was informed it would be noted on my contact but it wasn’t and was charged for 204 miles when I had only driven the 4. Make sure the contract matches what is actually on the truck and double check that extra items are included in the truck.
Esther MThis location is in Christiansburg, Virginia. It's just a tiny, cramped office and the vehicle drop-off is across the street. The office was very hot and there was a line ahead of us. Only one employee was working at the time, so we had to wait to drop off. Not great, but fine.

Peter EThe location is confusing, you cannot park your car so you have to be dropped off- the office is on one side of the street and pick up is on the other, the pickup lot is a hot mess The 2 ladies in the office leave a lot to be desired, save yourself the headache and check in on the app. The truck was trashy.. napkins all in the windshield/dash, someone’s earbuds left in the cup holder, pine needles all over the cab floor and the back of the truck doesn’t look like it was cleaned the last 2 uses. I cleaned it before we put things in the truck!
Christina LThe truck I rented has multiple pieces of the interior missing or loose. The location itself is also incredibly disorganized, there are no clear signs for parking and the lot to return the trucks to is way too small. In addition, I never received a call to confirm my order, so the truck I requested was not available.
Oliver Ssketchy little joint with less then helpful staff. this was our first time and last coming here. we pulled in to an inclined lot with no turn around and little space to maneuvering space. cars parked randomly around and staff pointed across the street and said, "just drop it there, across the street!" We're not local, we don't know this area and it was already tough to get in off the roadway. gentleman finally said, "just leave it where ever on this side" and he came out after we were struggling to park it and put a long block of wood to secure the trailer in place, after telling muttering something about, "its fucking fine there". Not somewhere we ever want to have to venture back to again.
AARON MThe office looks to be dual purpose - uhaul and something else. Drop box is there but parking is across the street. Parking not very accesible. Lot was too small and was packed. I could not park there. Had to leave truck at office lot with signs saying uhaul vehicles not allowed. After hours so I had no choice. I called customer service and told them.
PHILLIP SWhere do I begin? Female Staff was very rude. It was very difficult to obtain the truck to begin with because the number wrote down to find the truck was incorrect. Then, they couldnt find the keys to it. I was yelled at because the "6" was really a "G" from what they wrote down. Once I finally got the truck, it was filthy and smelled like a homeless person had been sleeping in it for months. There was so much clutter and it was so disorganized that it seemed impossible to operate. There was also a U-Haul employee there who was there just to drive andmove vehicles that his vehicle was blocked and he couldn't leave on time and nobody was in the lot to help him. On return, there was nowhere to park, people were yelling about the service and how trucks were blocking other trucks, and to top it off, my son who is 16, just had surgery and was on crutches. I let him stand in the office so I could return the office and not walk that far, the staff made him leave the office and I found him outside in the parking lot where he told me they wouldn't allow him to stay in there. I took photos of the mileage and the gas on return, and they still charged more than what it was. This is by far the worst office and staff I have had to deal with. I will never deal with this office again. U-haul should be ashamed of themselves as they allow this sort of thing to continue. With as many negative reviews as they have, something needs to be done.
