I was told that I could change my drop off location with a phone call since I was in a rural area and the representative could not locate the drop off location I had used in the past (found out it was permanently closed) so I drove to Arley, found a local neighborhood dealer, trucks were parked and rented at this location, called UHaul, held for thirty minutes only to be told that I would have to take the truck to Jasper, AL, an additional 1-1/2 hour drive in the opposite direction. Evan after I told your representative this was a UHaul dealer, the gentlemen on site stated he rents and accepts trucks at his location, had a "box" for the key, gave her the exact address and name of business, she would NOT change my drop off location. What would you do? I did NOT want to incur any additional charges (in addition to the $74.00 I had to pay for excess mileage). I received a text message telling me to take the truck to the 234 Main St. location, which I did. I have always been allowed to "change" my location as long as I called a UHaul representative. If this is NO LONGER THE CASE, we should be told up front.
