The gas was practically empty. So not only did we have to spend $65 on gas just to get it back up to half tank when we only drove 20km but he wasn't able to refund the card with the $18-$20 he owed us for having to fill the tank & drive further km & waste our time. Have the right vehicle for the reservation booked a week in advance. Or call to let them know ahead of time what the situation is at least. Train your employees to have some empathy and understanding. She told me another guy rented it out for the commission. When the next guy, the area field manager, he said the CUSTOMER didn't return on time. Then when I was given the smaller vehicle, don't charge me for extra kms and make me pay double the gas still. Clean the vehicles first, and don't charge me a cleaning fee at the end of it for it being dirty when I picked it up. They say the company policy when all this happens is to give a 50$ credit to your bill. 50$ is worth me spending over double the time, gas, and effort moving and being stressed out for days because of it. This area field manager also said there is no one above him that he is the only person I can talk to about this.Jillian C.
The contract said the tank was 124 L (little sticker said check the contract to figure out how much gas to replenish) I wanted to refill to the correct spot and did the math and put in 40 L - which turned out to be more than half a tank. I think you need to check the contract. I do appreciate that I was given credit toward my bill for the gas overfill.Siobhan W.

I have been a regular user of U-haul and this was the first time I regretted my decision to use the service. The neighborhood U-haul experience was new to me but I never expected this to be so poor. The lady at the corner store gave me the key of the vehicle after taking my information. When I asked about inspecting the vehicle before driving she refused to do that stating it is fine. This is odd and highly negligent of U-haul or any rental vehicle policy. After I entered the vehicle, it was extremely dirty, awful odour and full of pet fur. It seems no one cleaned the interior for ages. I took the starting mileage and gas gage reading. When I came to return the vehicle there was a different guy at the counter very rude and asked for the proof of mileage again refusing to check the mileage themselves. When I showed him the meter reading which showed gas gage at the same spot from the the time of rental (which is the instructions of rental) he insisted I have to fill up with gas regardless the gas gage shows same reading. He informed and I quote, â€œthe moment you drive the van even for 1 km you need to fill up gasâ€. He was also giving me explanations that then the vehicle is warm gas gage doesn't give accurate reading that is why it is mandatory to fill the gas every time it is driven. To make him happy, I had to drive additional km to fill the tank. Total km I drove was 15 during the rental period and I had to fill 10 litre because after I put 5 litre the gas gage has actually went lower which is a red flag. Surely the van needs work because you expect the gage move up when tank gets topped up. When I came back finally there was another young person was at counter. I showed him gas receipt and showed a photo as a proof. He also refused to inspect the vehicle at return. He explained that they have photos from before which are just some random photos from the U-haul website and also mentioned that when the next person rents the van they will check and if any damage is spotted they will charge me! Is such policies permitted by U-haul? For 10 years I have used U-haul service this is the first time I heard this which to me is a clear violation of standard rental policy. Even after my insist the store guy would leave the counter and inspect the vehicle. I preemptively took photos and videos of the van for legal proof of the vehicle's condition during the rental period. U-haul needs to rethink their policy of partnering with such unprofessional third parties because these mom and pop shops seriously jeopardizing the service. In future I will not rent U-haul if the option is these resellers.Muntaser R.

Quoted me 0.69/km on Wednesday and then charged me 0.89/km on Saturday. Said price had gone up. Very slow process picking up and returning truck.rick S.
I Rented the truck for 5 hours and they charged me for 2 days of rent and Insurance cost. This is not very good customer service and no explanation was given to me. Very disappointed with U Haul and will never purchase UHaul services in the future and shall recommend my friends to do the same.FAIZAN S.

Other location have a dedicated area or desk, this one did not and it created backups at the front counter both at pickup at dropoff. The parking lot was also difficult to navigate given the size of the truck and narrowness of the driveways. We required assistance to back out into the streetJESSEA D.
When i called Jan 11 to book the truck Kelly at the storage place on Delkieth was great when i had questions and wantedbto switch the daye she was helpful and accommodating. But when i called on Friday 29th a different girl answered and said Kelly was no longer there. This girl didnt know what she was doing and couldnt find my reservation said they werent ooen on Sunday and couldnt answer any of my questions. She gave me your 1 800 number and thankfully you had me on file and told me where i needed to pick up the truck. On Sunday when i went to get the truck it wasnt there. The guy thatbrented the day before never brought it back. After having to call you i was able to use another truck they had there and i was finally on my way to do my move. It was very stressful. The one hand didnt know what the other was doing but it did all come together and i was able to do my move. So that is why you get an average from meJames H.

The truck was late so we waited for 20 mins. When the truck arrived, no one wiped down the front can which I thought would have taken place due to the sensitivity of the pandemic. The back was never swept out so there was dust, dirt and leaves. We had to clean the cab and sweep the back before we could use it. Gross!JAVIERENRIQUE C.

Third time renting at this location. This time had problems, because everything was emailed, and I was incorrectly advised I was charged a late fee, when I inquired what the total came to --- which was quite a bit higher than what I had estimated/anticipated. Then was given customer care/service number to call once I got home, which I did. Spoke with Sandra, who was very helpful in understanding the situation, and she saw that I did not return the van late, yet somehow the system marked me down as late. Further, I returned the van with the gas tank filled up again, and the needle to the over "F" position. Clerk at variety store/U-Haul asked me to take pictures, which I did, but I said I wasn't too tech savvy with my Blackberry, but was getting my phone out to show him all the number of pictures I had taken, but he apruptly said never mind, he'd go out to the van himself to check. Geeze Louise, why ask me to do one thing,and then turn around and do something else. Had he finished listening to me, I could have shown him the pictures on my phone. I'm not good at how to email them or anything like that, but he could have taken pictures of my pictures, I suppose. So, somehow I was charged for gas too, which didn't make sense when I returned the van just as I had received it. The receipt shows "under the "F" mark as where the gas level was returned to by me, when clearly my pictures would have shown it over. Sandra explained he marked an 1/8 lower and then said something about 1/16th -- didn't quite understand that, but inevitably she credited those charges as well, and based on my calculations for a credit, we came out to the same figure. This took me about 15 minutes on the phone to accomplish and get straightened around with Sandra. However, still not impressed with customer treatment by in-store clerk for U-Haul this time at all. Maybe this is sadly just a Covid thing, I don't know. I might think about going elsewhere next time, just saying'. You have to treat your customers better than that, especially when I needed answers to my questions. I shouldn't have to wait to go home to get my emails off my desktop computer. There should have been an actual store printout, and it should have been ran by me before it was put through on my credit card. So, in-store clerk gets a very poor review from me. I was told the van had a full gas tank and it did not. The person's English was limited. I did not get my receipt by email in a timely fashion. I believe I was overcharged. I would not rent from here again. It was also hard to exit the parking lot in a safe manner. I made a very poor choice of locations. Also I was asked to submit something online but was not given access to wifi and I don't have data on my phone. Not everyone lives by their phone.Nancy H.

The owner of this store completely ripped me off intentionally!! She advised me that she would return the truck in the morning when I returned it at 10:15pm and did not make me aware that she'd be charging me double. She did not make me aware that I could return it online at the time I dropped it off. She made it sound like she was doing me a favour by returning it the next day in her system when she was well aware that it was in her parking lot at 10:15pm the night before! I will never use uhaul again because of this experience and I highly recommend you remove her as a vendor because she is not making a good name for uhaul! I have submitted a dispute with uhaul and I fully expect a resolution and a refund of my over charged amounts !CINDYLOUISE G.
I had a terrible experience with Uhaul. First the UHC Hamilton Region traffic office changed my order the day before my move without my knowledge or consent. When I went to confirm the new confirmation I was instantly hung up on while getting my order number so I had to call them back twice without an apology. The man I spoke to reassured that my mileage would be covered for the difference and inconvenience of having to change my pick up location but it was not the case. Second when we arrived at the pick up location my father and I had to wait 15 minutes for the women at the counter to serve us as she was on a personal call. After that was figured it, it took her an additional 15 minutes to figure out and confirm my order even though I went online the day before to review and confirm my order. On top of that I wasn't provided with enough moving blankets, even though again I ordered them ahead of time with my order. To end, when my father returned the van to the same location he was serviced by someone else who apparently treated him very poorly and gave him bad customer service. To conclude I would not recommend this location or Uhaul in general to â€˜friend' as a moving service.Norman C.

The truck was dirty inside and steering wheel was very sticky. The back of the truck was full of sandy grit and smelled like a cat litter. It was honestly the dirtiest truck we have ever rented from uhaul. It served its purpose and thankfully our item was fully wrapped but I would not have wanted to put my furniture in that truck if it wasn't wrapped.Christopher C.
