JOHN JI reserved my truck well in advance of my move. I was picking it up at 7:30 AM. I also had movers lined up to meet me at a certain time. The NIGHT BEFORE my move I received notice that the U-Haul location near my home does not have my truck. I was told I had to drive to another U-Haul location 40 minutes from my home. I could not pick up until 9 am. This totally put me behind schedule 2 hours. I understand things happen but having this occur the day before my move was unacceptable.

IRENE TThe location was fine. Everything was ok except the drop off process. It was very lengthy. It took about 15 minutes to complete the process. It asked for almost 10 pictures to be taken from the back of the truck to the front of the truck to the inside of the truck to the side of the truck to where the truck was actually parked on the lot. It was a lot.
Natalie BMake sure that the trailers electrical hook ups are working properly. I had to call Roadside assistance to come to my house prior to leaving Virginia as the trailer ribbon cable had numerous knicks in the cable which caused the lights to work intermittently.
ROSS MDialogue with the salesperson at East Coast Home & Garden enabled me to rent the trailer I wanted, for my specific purpose, and for the proper amount of time, enabling me to get my job done to my satisfaction.
Ben CThe vehicle was clean but in awful condition. It needed a tire balancing and alignment. It shook and rattled and made horrible noises. It sounded like the drivers door had loads of air coming through. The only positive was that the air conditioning worked!
Patricia CIt’s not the location, they’re great, it’s corporate uhual, there is now fucken way it should’ve cost $100 to travel 30 miles in less than 2 hours and I returned the equipment with a full tank of gas. That is absolutely ridiculous and total bullshit you price gouging cucks.

SAM LCost is high, this location has nothing to do with this comment. UHaul as a corp, 1.50 a mile is a little crazy for old vehicles. The truck I had needed new breaks, transmission is on its last leg. It had 108,xxx miles which means that truck has made you roughly $160K in just mileage. Plus the $40 price to rent it. Maintenance doesn’t cost that much, obviously just oil changes. I don’t mind paying $40 to rent and mileage but 1.50 per mile is greed. And yes I do understand over head blah blah blah. Nicer trucks may deserve a premium but not 20 year old beaters

MERVIN AWhile the physical location of the store is in beautiful condition my overall experience was less than ideal. The key location/lockbox that was given was the incorrect number and put me 30 mins behind and then The truck needs maintenance. The service light was on, I could not read the odometer because service tire maintenance reading was across the screen, and I’m fairly certain as the gear shifts into lower speeds to stop it sticks.

HOWARD HVery easy rental from East Coast Home & Garden. Check-in to checkout was a breeze.
SCOTT PThe trailer was dirty and had obviously been used by a roofer prior to us as it was full of the roofing material debris. We had to vacuum it out before we Could load it. Also, the trailer was located in a back grassy lot that was muddy and we were required to retrieve the trailer for ourselves and hook it up. The clerk at the store did check the hookup once we brought the trailer around.
LILIANE MTruck could’ve been swept out before renting. Also, furniture dolly wasn’t available despite reserving one. Ended up having to use a utility dolly. Which worked…but wasn’t what was initially reserved. Overall, average experience.

John TThe cab of the truck smelled and was dusty. Upon return the counter person was rude and unprofessional. I was asked to sweep the back of the truck out twice because it was returned dirty and not in the condition that I received it. However, how can the agent prove that it was not in the condition that I received it if the cab of the truck was just as dusty and it’s dirty as the back of the truck. The whole interaction could’ve gone better if the agent was not as rude as she was, it all started when I entered the store and told her I was returning a truck and she said we’ve been looking for that. Mind you, I was not late with my return and she was dead serious with her comment. The whole interaction was just inappropriate and I will not rent from them anymore and I’ll be sure to tell others.

Brian MPicking up this UHaul before East Coast was open was horrible. The app kicked me out three times. I had to start over with pictures of driver and his license. I had to add an alternate contact- this person was not called but I got the message to wait, then got kicked out of the app. When I called the 800 number I waited 10 minutes for a custo Er service rep. The keys were not in the box I was told to open. They were in another box. I went to East Coast the day before my move and was told where my truck would be. It was was not there- we had to go all around the lot looking for the truck, By then it was thunder and lightning. I had to take pictures of every side of the truck in the pouring rain.
ALFRED BI recently rented a U-Haul yesterday, and the check-in process was extremely time-consuming. It took nearly 30 minutes just to complete check-in, followed by multiple verification steps that I’ve never experienced in prior rentals. This was beyond frustrating and took up a significant amount of my valuable time. Due to this experience, I would not recommend this location to others.
