The cargo van was very dirty and clearly not previously cleaned

Matthew GIt’s convenient having U-Haul rentals in my neighborhood, but they need to clean them better between customers. I rented a van through the app, which was dirty and smelled like smoke. Upon return, I had to state it was clean so I didn’t have to pay a cleaning fee for someone else’s mess. Driving with the gross smell was bad enough.

EMILY TTruck was dirty and had trash in it, didn't provide the other equipment rented, process for mobile pickup was confusing without clear instructions. Was told to go to a different uhaul location to get missing equipment which was not the case because other location didn't know why they were telling me to come to them and they didn't have any equipment to provide

CHARKIA SThis truck rattled like something was about to fall apart the whole time in use and it stopped on me at one point and then also this truck didn't have a step so I could get in the driver's seat causing me to hurt my knee and sprain my foot 😑 this truck wasn't smooth last the one a got 2 weeks ago 😑

Sara HTruck was not ready at pickup. Waited over an hour. Only one person working. Supplies ordered not available. Store was not stocked. Truck had less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Byron HWe received the wrong size truck, it was filthy, and the dollys we had thought we “reserved” did not exist. To top it off, we were charged a cleaning fee for the truck that we received in horrid condition. It was never cleaned before we got it.
ANDREA LI had to go another location to pick up appliance dolly. The computer should let us know if a dolly is available or not the same way it does the trucks. BUT, the customer representative on the phone helped me find one. She was the greatest!! The young man at the counter was also knowledgeable. They both served me well.

GRETCHEN SThe site closed at 4:00. My rental was due back a t 4:11. I was forced to go through a self return process. Not enjoyable. Because I didn't know what to do, I was just over 1 hour late in my return. That 1 hour cost me an extra day rent on the truck plus the safe move fee. Not happy with the return at all!
SCOTT WI paid for a dolly and didn’t get one. I also went to another location to get one and they didn’t have any. disappointed I had to deal with that and borrow a dolly from a friend
MARK GI dropped off the truck a day early at this location. The staff member said put the keys on the counter and he would send the receipt. After not receiving or hearing back from them we got a call the next day from UHaul asking where the truck was. Overall, U-Haul was unorganized in my opinion.

UDAYAMURTHY Mthe truck was functioning well and in good shape, however it was so dirty. there was cigarettes ashes all over the front, the front panel had drinks spilled and the smell was terrible. Me and my wife had to clean it before traveling.
Renato MGive a few more miles before charging. I had to drive 15 miles to get a truck based on availability. There was a store 4 miles from my residence. Just a little modification. Almost exceeded the milage but based on careful planning I didn't.

VERNE DI'll start with the good--the customer service representative at this location was extremely professional and courteous. He was honest and handled my rental in a very efficient way. For the bad--this location was in an area that felt unsafe. When dropping off, my wife was yelled at by a person walking through the parking lot; when I dropped the vehicle off, I was met by a panhandler that came up within 10 feet of me. The UHaul store had few items for purchase--I was looking for a mattress bag, the only ones available were in twin size. I also indicated that I wanted to rent a furniture dolly on my rental request form--there was only a tiny dolly available that was of no use to me. The vehicle itself, a 15-foot box truck, reeked of cigarette smoke. The cup holders were filthy with ashes and other grimy substances. The steering wheel had a "stickiness" to it. Mechanically, the engine seemed to whine heavily when accelerating and getting onto highway. It did not give me confidence that the truck was safe to operate. In summary, the customer service rep handled the rental smoothly and professionally, but the vehicle was terrible.
LOUIS LI was pleased with the customer service and equipment. This is my “go to” branch for trucks.

Daniel LI could not obtain my vehicle due to being provide the wrong lock code. Very frustrating, but the customer service after made up for it! They added extra time, and miles to make amends. It was very much appreciated as it did alter my travel plans.
Will SWhen reserving my truck in advance, I wish I had been informed about all of the steps I would have to complete when picking it up/dropping it off on a weekend. Confusing instructions, not knowing I was required to download the app until I was on site, having to take pictures and enter information including coming up with a personal reference, etc. in the pouring rain. My truck had low tire pressure upon pick up, no one was working there to help, and I had no way to check the current mileage which I was required to note in the pick-up form. Overall, a frustrating and stressful process when at other locations, all I've really had to do is grab the keys.

Juliana GVehicle was filthy, had 2 miles left on the tank, almost ran out of gas getting to a gas station after picking it up. The truck sounded like it was going to die at any moment because it had 115k miles on it. The seat belt was broken and didn’t work. I would not recommend.
Mandi PThe share 24/7 pickup my truck was not smooth and there was not a way for us to check in online or through the app. I had to call customer service where I was on the phone for 45 minutes. Due to this I was late to the appointment and returning the truck
Breanna YThe before hours check-in process was very confusing. There is no documentation or instructions of what I would need to do upon checking out the device. Like having two IDs and having available references. Luckily, I brought those, but I brought those for a different reason on that particular effort. Also there is no dolly in the truck. Luckily I didn’t need one.

TITILOLA OI have a question about how charges are calculated. I was charged in advance based on a mileage estimate of 1081 miles. However, the actual miles driven were well under 1000. I was told at the drop off location that if I had driven more than allowed miles (1081) I would be charged extra but no refund or adjustment is due if the miles driven were less than the estimate. Can you clarify that policy? It doesn’t seem right. Thanks

John BI got 2 receipts one for the initial charge with estimated mileage, the next one Initial charge with actual mileage I'm waiting gon the bank to see if I was charged twice, if the first one was canceled and I was only charged once, then it was a good experience, if I was charged twice I will pursue legal action

Chris VThe U-Haul application is very poor Ann difficult to use after returning the truck it makes you take several pictures to verify the truck is not damaged which is fine then after multiple attempts to upload the app freezes and makes you start over. After spending an hour trying this I gave up. The truck also did not have the furniture dolly I rented in it and I still son it have a refund after complaining live person sending email and calling again. It is very frustrating. Bring back live people that work at a location instead of the application garbage that doesn’t work. When ending from a live location I could have said where is the dolly I reserved but the app can’t produce the dolly for me so I have to drive away without it.

Blair PU-Haul did not provide me with a mobile device pickup. I had to wait an hour and a half to check in manually. I got ten dollars off but my entire move schedule was disrupted. They only offered me 45 extra minutes of time with the truck. When I called and requested an extra thirty minute before our drop off time, due to the fact that we had to redo our entire moving day schedule, U-Haul customer support agreed to extend my time with no charge. But I was charged an additional 26 dollars today for my late drop off. I’m incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied.
Isabelle MI just wished that the folks would come out and inspect the moving truck so I can be assured there is no surprises. Thankfully there was none and I can understand in the heat of the day, it is best to check the truck when it is cooler. Thank you UHaul.

VALENCIA LMake sure your vehicles are street-legal. The brake lights were not working and I had to get a replacement at a different location.

Sade GThis was just the closest u-Haul place from our move. They were closed when we dropped off the truck so didn’t interact with anyone.
Christine NThe truck cab was incredibly smelly. The odor was so overwhelming that I had to thoroughly spray it with Lysol to continue driving.
Mark VThe only problem I ran into was that the gas tank was only a quarter full when I picked it up. If there was a way to ensure the truck tank was full upon pickup, that would be the most helpful!

Marcia BYou charged me a cleaning fee of $25. That is ridiculous considering the condition that it was given to me in. I have pictures of how it was when I picked it up if you would like to see. I also made it very aware in the return process that I paid for a dozen moving blankets and only received 2 blankets which was not sufficient more what I paid for. I’m not happy on on this end and definitely want to see a refund coming back for both. I don’t believe you should charge a cleaning fee if you’re not even going to clean it before renting! That’s called a scam! Also verify you supply the right equipment before charging for it. I will not be using the mobile services ever again.

donald bMake sure the staff inspects the truck before sending it out on the road. The truck was filthy in the cab and the back. Truck was completely out of gas, gas light was on. Tires were under inflated. Truck smelled like a dirty cigar. 1st leg of the trip the truck was pulling hard to the right, pulled over to get fuel and noticed the threads were showing on both tires. Had to get new tires. They knew I was making a 1500 mile journey but still put me in a truck that was not even remotely ready for the road.
