10/19/20 ... I reserved a 15â€ U haul truck for pick up 10/16/20 in Peoria, IL. When I arrived I had to wait a hour or more because the U haul clerks stated they were having computer problems and couldn't confirm/give me the truck I previously reserved. Well afterwards I was finally given my reserved truck but when I arrived at the Easy-Pay u haul in Champaign, IL to drop my rented u haul truck-at 5PM 10/17/20... There was an African American woman who refused to check my u haul truck in when I arrived at 5PM. She stated she was closing and would check my my truck in on 10/19/20 because the Easy Pay u haul was closed on Sundays. I politely asked the u haul female representative to check my truck in because I wasn't going to pay anything extra beyond my current u haul reserved agreement #81455169. In addition, I told the very rude and unprofessional u haul female clerk that I was going to file a complaint with u haul corporate office. I also called the u haul phone number and immediately filed a complaint with u haul representative Christian soon after. I'm a disabled veteran and in the future I won't rent from u haul again. And for all the extra trouble from u haul representatives etc: I would like at least $25 credited back to my credit card method of payment again regarding u haul reservation #81455169. ... I also have pictures and video of the truck that I put back a 1/2 tank of gas in it; and the clean-good condition I left the truck in as I-parked, and left the truck in he Easy Pay Champaign, IL parking lot. I put the u haul truck keys in the easy pay u haul drop box as well on 10/17/20 at 5PM. Again I have pictures and video of everything... And when I rented the truck I was only supposed to be charged $141.55, $5.00 environmental fee and I was getting a 5% discount per u haul phone reservation clerk but I was charged $154 and at least $9 overcharged. Was not aware this was a multi business location and U Haul was just one of them. Just a parking lot with one other U Haul truck. More issues with attempting to drop off after hours. we used the app to after hour drop off.MICHAEL C.
Small parking lot for vehicles to get in and out with trucks. When renting the truck, I left with 3/4 tank of gas. The truck info said the gas capacity was 40 gal. Before returning the gauge said little above 1/2 full, so I stopped and put in 10.5 gal. Upon return the gauge had not moved. The attendee request I put more gas in the truck or be charged BIG EXTRA $. ?? So I put in another 10 gal and the tank then said almost full. The extra gas expense< and the under used milage, I paid for didn't leave me with a good feeling. But the truck performed well and I will rent again. Come now said a refund will be forthcoming. When and HOW? She didn't know when I ask specifically and thus the Average rating above.Stanley S.

I was using Easy Pay but it didn't work so I was grateful for someone to talk to. The person on staff helped me through the process and got me the key.Robyn G.
He gave me the smallest truck and we had to make multiple trips and it cost me double to money. And doing everything by a app it is horrible took us a hour and a half to get the code to get the key. Y'all will never get my business again and we need moving trucks all the time.Tracy D.
This would qualify as the most positive experience I have had renting a truck from U-Haul. My wife and I were dreading this, as the last time we tried to rent a truck with U-Haul, the staff at the location we renter from were so rude we decided to do something else instead. And, in this case, we stopped by another location first but found they did not have the size truck we needed. They referred us to a location on the opposite side of town. This person was very friendly but unfortunately could not take care of us directly. We reserved a truck across town, since that appeared to be our only option. Fortunately, we noticed the trucks at Easy Pay on our way home and stopped in to see what they had available. I am very glad we did, because the person we spoke to was extremely friendly and very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and answered all of our questions. I wish I had caught her name so I could mention her specifically.STEVE F.
The location was closed at our pick up time. It took us 4 hours to rent the trailerliliane W.
I dropped it off in the middle of the night. I had problems with the website so it took around 45 minutes to drop off the truck. I was already overtired from a long day and just wanted to go to sleep. The website prompted me to turn on location services, which I did. I tried multiple times to do the process on both my and my wife's phone. We finally got fed up and called the 800 number. She explained I needed to also turn on location services for my safari app. Why not just add those instructions onto the website so it doesn't take forever to drop a truck off?ryan W.
See my other review, but this place was awful. Probably will never see what they owe me for equipment that wasn't available and any type of service guarantee. The really crappy thing is that as a U-haul online customer you have no choice where to pick your rental equipment up at and they even split the contract on me, making me pickup equipment at two different locations. Horrible experience will never use U-haul again, they owe me about $100, probably never see it.Jonathan B.

Worst place I have picked up a u-haul. Took 50 minutes to get a truck that I had reserved online. I was charge $80 for insurance that I didn't have on the order.. Because it took so long to get the truck I didn't have time to get it fixed.Scott S.

The 2 women working at 2901 Springfield Avenue were horrible! I have never come across such poor customer service as I did at U-Haul last weekend. they miss lead us on the original agreement and told us we had 53 miles with the U-Haul rental for the day. No mention of it being one way. They even admitted they told us wrong but refused to help us correct it . They continued to argue with me and told me they had a bad day, were fed up and weren't having it anymore and actually hung up on me ! My problem of being overcharged was never resolved with that office. They could have cared less! I will never use that facility again. We did report it to the 800 number and the lady there was very nice so I'm hoping the credit does come through but until then I'm very leery of U-haul. If you have staff that speaks to their customers like that I can't imagine you having many more customers in the future. Awful, just awful treatment. It was shocking.Clare C.

The truck was not in good mechanical shape. It is a gas guzzler and did not perform well. The passenger side rear has some serious suspension issues. The brakes squeal like you would not believe.Donna G.

The truck was out of gas when I picked it up. Had to come back and have staff try to figure out what to do. Then I had to go to the gas station and pay out of my pocket to put gas in it. Staff should have inspected it before I picked it up. They said that wasn't their job. They said they weren't being paid to fill it with gas. You need to get your operation out of this place, its a converted bank, had to talk to staff through a glass barrier. Worst service ever.david M.

If you make a reservation in a town, that should be where you get your truck. Not in a town 30 miles away. I feel then I should have dropped the truck at a dealer 30 miles from where you wanted me to drop it off at.Mary A.

The staff was unfriendly. The process was very long, even though I completed the on-line checkout. It took almost 30 minutes to complete the return, which takes less than 10 minutes anywhere else i rent. This location is very convenient for me, but I would not rent from them again.Mary D.
