Pickup was a horror story. I received a call 3 days before I needed the truck telling me that the largest truck - which I needed as I was moving an entire well established household out of state - would not be available unless I came immediately (3 days early) to get it... not in my neighborhood in Massillon, OH, but 40 minutes away in New Philadelphia, OH. I was advised that if I didn't grab that truck I likely would not have a truck when I needed it. I scrambled to get to get ready to shoot on over to New Philly. I arrived around 10:30am. The lights were off in the office and the door was locked. I called the corporate number. The lady I spoke with tried to help reach the people at the branch but unsuccessfully. Long story short, I wasted 6 hours with nothing to do and no one available locally to talk to. Finally in late afternoon someone opened the office.. She was nice and apologetic and helpful, but that that point there was practically no way to make it completely right. A tangential problem was that although getting a truck 3 days sounds nice, I was still packing and preparing to move. I am a professional Project Manager and planned it all out ahead of time. The results of all of this were (1) I wasted an entire day driving to and from a distant location with no one on the receiving end for hours, which set me back yet another day. (2) The above costed me an extra day of delay, which put me in a pinch where I had to request another day from the people who were moving INTO the house I was moving out of. For that they charged me $500, which was reasonable because it had a snowball effect on them and their schedules. Additionally, I needed to take my car with me behind the truck. By phone before I went I provided the make and model of the car and they assured me that I would have no trouble using the tow Dollie. To be fair, that wasn't at this location - it was the corporate location near my home in Massillon, OH where I thought I would be receiving the truck.When I got there, the person who first helped me (I liked her, not complaining directly against her) wasn't fully trained to help me get it on the dollly. We had to wait for the guy who owned the storage unit / truck rental franchise to show up. Another hour wasted. He showed up and put it on the dolly but it ended up that my car sat too low to the ground and thus began to scrape my front bumper. The scraping wasn't a bid deal, it was minor and hidden, but the fact that it didn't work delayed my further. It ended up that they put my car on the car platform (I forget what it's actually called) to tow it on a flatbed. They did waive the additional fee for that, but once again we needed to wait for assistance. By now it was into the evening - and the following probably infuriates me more than anything else that day - the owner of the franchise let me know that he was normally off the clock by now and that he was going to have to pay himself an extra $40 per hour because all of this took him into overtime, and he let me know that his wife texted him because dinner was ready and getting cold!!! That statement, after all I went through that day, was about as narcissistic as as it comes. This was absolutely ludicrous. I will most likely use a competitor next time. U-Haul did comp me some, though even the comps were not without issues - the right and left hands didn't collaborate with each other. U-Haul has been around since the 1940s. I believe they were the first business in their category. How in the world can they have such poor logistics?Jeffrey B.

Overall the experience went well. I was a bit annoyed that I could not get into my Uhaul because it was in a snow drift. I had to dig a path for myself so that I could access the drivers side door. Other than that I was pleased with everything.Nathan P.

Even though I stated that the 10ft truck that I had rented was clean, it wasn't as clean as it could have been. I still needed to sweep out some dirt and debris that should have been cleared before I rented the vehicle. But, the amount of dirt and debris was not too great. It's just that it could have been and should have been cleaner than it was when I rented it.Wayne E.

CALLING UHAUL for help those is VERY POOR. I phoned several times as I couldn't get my lock to open and when I was not hung up on before being connected (13 times), the three times I spoke to someone, I was disconnected when they transferred me to someone else. Trailer lights did not work and kept blowing my fuse. I had to spend 3 hours out of my rental time to change my trailer fuse (hidden in the body molding) twice and finally exchange the trailer for one where the lights worked. A horrible experience.Robert R.

I was happy until time to pay!!!!...I was quoted 39.95 a day for truck 10.00 a day for dolly and I got your insurance for 14.00 a day...128.00...estimate contract I signed when picked up equipment was 165.00...day I returned equipment bill was 201.00!!!!!...never again!!!!!!Shelby G.

The truck can leaked water, and the truck shook so bad going down the highway that it was hard to steer. It had more rattles than a baby toy factory. Am/fm radio only, no aux input. And a GAS engine in a 26' truck is ridiculous. Cost almost $1000 in gas on a 1200 mile trip. I did the same trip in a Penske truck with a Diesel engine and it only cost $500 in fuel. I will never rent another piece of equipment from U-Haul.Albert B.
The ladies at the site was really helpful. I was wanting a 5x8 enclosed and they didn't have one. So she called and found the closest one and I booked it. Then I started thinking maybe I better get a bigger one so I went back and she cancelled the one at the other location and rented me one that they had there that I wanted after all. So they was really great and friendly. And the trailer worked out good and pulled easy. And if I have any gripe it only had 3- D rings on the one side. None on the other side which I needed because I was hauling a motorcycle. I had to tie off in the wood railing on the other side. It worked but was nerving.ron G.

For one way moves id prefer a bluetooth radio and a diesel and at a minimum cruise control. The truck shook bad in the front end, from ohio to texas and it felt like i was being bucked off a horse the whole way. Ive rented recently from a different company and when asked for military rate I was given one during the booking. I was told Uhaul doesnt have a military pricing but your web site claims to. I had to call and talk to different people before transportation gave me a 20% discount but it still wasnt what Id received from a different renatl group. This truck made the trip but the trip wasnt as nice as it could have been.daniel M.

We had an absolutely awful experience with UHaul. They changed our reservations twice, forcing us to drive further, and spend more money than we expected. The truck we picked up was pretty beat up, and the ramp was broken, making it essentially worthless. We specifically chose UHaul because of the lower ramps, but with it being broken we still had to lift every single piece in and out. Plus, with the ramp being busted, renting the furniture and utility dollies turned out to be a huge waste of money. I will never use UHaul again, and will advise friends and family not to use them either.Joshua W.
The inside of the 26 foot truck I had rented was rather muddy and dusty inside; I had to put numerous sheets and blankets down to keep my furniture out of the mud. The ramp on the truck took three grown men to pull out, and at the end of the day we could not get it all the way back in to lock fully. We got it in just enough for the latch on the door to fully engage. This definitely needs looked at!! This is the first time I have had these issues.BRYAN R.
