I recently rented a truck from this location and was overcharged after returning it. When I called to dispute the charge, the representative I spoke with was extremely rude and hung up on me before I could even finish explaining my situation. This is completely unacceptable customer service. I expected to be treated with basic respect, especially when I was the one reaching out about a billing error on their end. I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved and will be escalating my complaint further if nothing is done. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Uhaul was a death trap, mirrors did not work at all, no matter how you placed them, Location had notices not to go in because the building was unsafe.

otmaro aI recently rented a U-Haul truck to move my daughter from Fort Lauderdale to Clearwater. The rental itself was fine, but my experience at the drop-off location was extremely disappointing. When I arrived at SUNSET POINT AUTO SALES LLC to return the truck, I was instructed to leave it in front of the business. As I walked around the truck, I noticed the rear door was slightly open, so I closed it and asked if anything else was needed from me. The employee, who later identified herself as Lisa and who I later learned is the owner, responded very abruptly and told me I would receive an email in a few minutes. As I was leaving, my daughter noticed that a couch cushion had been thrown onto the ground in the parking lot. I immediately got out of the car, picked it up, and apologized because I had forgotten it was still in the truck. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Lisa began yelling at me and accused me of opening the back of the truck and intentionally leaving the item behind. I calmly explained that she was mistaken and that I had actually closed the rear door because it was already slightly open when I walked by. What bothered me most was not the cushion itself, but the way I was treated. There was no reason to raise her voice or speak to a customer in such a disrespectful manner. The cushion was my property, and rather than asking about it, it was thrown onto the ground before I even had a chance to realize it had been left behind. Customer service matters, especially when representing a brand like U-Haul. Unfortunately, this was one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I have had, and I will also be reporting the incident to U-Haul customer service.

Robert Cfacility operator was 45 minutes late. The office was very dirty, messy, and unorganized. The cloth we rented were dirty and damp/wet. It was a horrible experience. Would not recommend or rent again.

CECILIO MWe got there at 2:50pm to pick up 15' Truck at 3pm. Waited in the office where loud music was playing and after 10 minutes, called Family Empire and a man answered and said, "she's" on the way. Still, NO ONE showed up. Had to call U-Haul on 441 next to Home Depot where our reservation was made because they had no trucks available. They gave us a number to call and after going through about 2 people, spoke with the scheduling department, then was transferred to another person, Bree, who took our information, payment, etc. NO KEY in the drop box as told, but in the truck. Got to truck and was blocked in. Bree called Family Empire and a lady came to move vehicle blocking us. Bree stayed on the line until the end and we THANK YOU BREE!! In all, we were there for over 1 hour. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS U-HAUL DEALER AGAIN. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!!

ANTHONY QWhen I made the reservation I made it to pick up at the Rodman St. Hollywood FL location location. The online information did not inform me that there would be no one there because it was a holiday. When I arrived there was no one to assist me. I then had to download the app to try and get my vehicle, that they had already charged my credit card for. This process took over an hour trying to get the keys to the vehicle as my wife waited in the car for me. The combination that I received on the app for the lock for the keys to the vehicle would not work. I called the 800 number and the person told me that I may have to rotate the numbers one or two times before setting the combination and that if that did not work to call them back. After trying everything it did not work, and I called the 800 number back and talk to another person that repeated the code to me over the phone and told me several things that I needed to do to try to open it and I informed them that I had already tried everything and nothing worked. The person on the phone told me to hold on and they would check they came back to me and said they had to try to get ahold of someone put me on hold again. They then asked me if there was another vehicle there in the lot that I could use, and there was so we were going to try to get that key for that vehicle but I was waiting for the person on the phone to give me the code for the new vehicle. While waiting on hold I was looking at the code that would not work which was BOLL. I thought to myself what if they meant to put BOLT. So I tried the BOLT combination and the lock opened. The app had told me BOLL the woman on the end of the 800 number told me the combo was BOLL. When the woman on the 800 number got back on the phone, I informed her of what had happened and she apologized and said that they would have to notify a department to change the information and thanked me.
Millard BMy poor rating is more toward the equipment. The truck had over 130,000 miles, the windshield wiper was not properly attached in the first time using in a rain almost flew off the windshield. Also, the front tires did not seem to be balanced properly and when at posted speeds had extreme vibration. The truck had a very strong or odor to it as well. I hadn’t rented from U-Haul for many years and unfortunately, was very disappointed with this experience.

After waiting for nearly 30 minutes for someone to show up, I was told that we needed to use my personal truck to hookup and move another trailer before they would allow me to use the unit that I rented. Not because it was blocked in, but because they needed another trailer moved around to another property. Put us over an hour behind schedule. When they finally showed me where my trailer was, it was a VERY tight squeeze, and they wouldn’t move another Uhaul truck to allow me to access the trailer that I rented. Managed to get it hooked up, with zero assistance from the person “working” for Uhaul. They never once checked that the trailer was secure. Had the customers doing everything, in the rain. They never provided me with any paperwork or confirmation. 15-20 min later I get a text stating that I need to pull off the highway and take a bunch of pics to complete the rental process. Got to my destination, and the inside of the trailer smelled like old seafood. Noticed that there was one or two lights that were completely missing with connectors/wires that were very worn/dirty like they had been gone for a while. Overall experience was terrible. I will never be using this location again.

This place is a disaster, I subsequently called Uhaul and put the complaint under reference # 5054951. Please credit me the amounts you are charging me for this reservation otherwise I will have to escalate the case with my bank to decline this transaction.
