We reserved for pick-up in Visalia three weeks ahead of time. I was called two days before the trip and told the only truck in the area was in Layton, which was out of our way. When we got there, the truck was filthy. I mean, washing the windshield was like pushing mud around. The back of the truck had not been swept out (sticks, dirt, screws, bolts, etc), the lock had been cut, the closing mechanism had been tampered with, and the cab smelled of cigarette smoke. To top it off, the gas tank had 2 MILES to empty. Not gallons, MILES. And the nearest gas station was 3 miles away. This was the most atrocious UHaul experience of my life and is making me really consider other companies first. My wife and I are in the middle of a big move and we can only do a little at a time. I'll be looking elsewhere moving forward if this is the way UHaul treats their customers!
