Employees have never been friendly at this location and have yelled at me or threatened me both times I have used it as a Uhaul return location. During my latest equipment return, I was yelled at by an employee for the location I was parking the trailer, but the employee refused to answer the door to check-in the trailer since it was after hours. I was forced to choose between an after hours return fee or a late fee because the business was closed the day my contract ended and the equipment was due to be returned. Thankfully a complaint to customer service got me in contact with the area field manager that cancelled the unavoidable additional fee. If Uhaul wants constructive feedback on improvement, do not allow businesses to charge the "After hours return fee" for contracts that end on a day the return location business is not open. It forces the customer into a catch-22 situation of additional fees. I also suggest you discontinue business with Farnsworth Construction and create a space for a business that can provide a positive customer service experience. As long as Farnsworth represents U-Haul, poor customer service experiences will continue.
KATHERYN LI dropped off my car and the car trailer after hours. The lot was absolutely dark with no clear guidance on where to park or leave equipment. After a couple hours sleep, I received an angry call from Mrs. Farnsworth that I had 30 minutes to move my vehicle or it would be towed. I scrambled half asleep to move my car while Mrs. Farnsworth followed me ranting about how I was in the wrong place. When I returned the box truck it was after hours. I was charged cleaning fees despite having swept it out before returning it. Overall, being yelled at and overcharged are not ways to treat customers. Hope I never have to deal with this lady again. I would rather return to a different location another 15 minutes down the road.
Katheryn LI filled out the online form with no insurance and drop off in delta. My husband and friend went to get the uhaul while I was at work. Instead of going by the form that was already completed online, Mrs. Farnsworth charged me extra money for insurance at pick up and after my husband already left the lot with the uhaul she said we could not drop off in delta and had to take it back to paonia. I told her that was not in our budget and she said we can drop it off early for a discount. She did not give a discount and she did not respond to my phone calls after. Moving is already expensive and stressful without all of the extra games.
CHEVELLE M25.00 charge for not sweeping out the truck seems a little steep. 20.00 for not using the UHaul app to check the truck in… The allowed miles thing is a whole other story.

Marc BDo not operate out of the Farnsworth location in Paonia any more. The old woman who works there is incredibly rude, judgmental, closeminded, and impatient. She is also lazy. I have rented U-Haul trailers on many occasions, and I have never been expected, or even allowed to hook the trailer up to my truck myself. This woman expected me to do so. I informed her that I had never done so and she told me that I would figure it out. I attempted to hook up the trailer, but was having difficulty, so I requested her help since she is the employee and it is her job. As she was hooking up the trailer to my truck, she was rude, she raised her voice, and she made degrading comments that implied that I was inept simply because I am from a larger city. Aside from the massive liability that could have arisen as a result of this woman failing to do her job, her behavior was wildly inappropriate and unprofessional. Further, I later had a friend check the trailer, and he discovered that the trailer had not been attached securely. Finally, the woman made comments about how much she dislikes having the U-Haul services as a part of her business. I would suggest cutting ties with her and her business completely. She is not doing U-Haul any favors.

Brian WWhy did you charge me an after hours fee to drop off on Monday like I was scheduled to do? I was scheduled to return the trailer on 18 March 2024. I returned as per contract on Monday even though you were closed on a regular business day, yet was still charged an after hours fee? Unacceptable. Please refund the $20.00 you billed me for this discrepancy, as your property was returned as stated in contract. Thank you.

Janet RI have rented from this location many times. Always been great service. One comment I would like to make is more on the corporate level than the local store. I noticed a second Uhaul location pop up last week that is only about a mile from this location. This is in addition to the other one in the town 10 minutes away in Hotchkiss. We are a small town of only 1400 people, and the neighboring town is small too. Surprised to think there would be enough business to share between the three Uhaul locations. Three close by in a big city with large populations might make sense, but seems you are making it hard on small businesses in small towns by allowing so many outlets. Just a thought I had. Thank you for consistently delivering a quality service and product. I have rented Uhauls many, many times in my life.

SAM CMove out date was actually 11/27/22. Cost increases were a factor in move out. The unit started out clean, however, it leaked a lot of dust and dirt that settled on everything. Not aware of any maintenance or of any being needed. Security is provided by your own lock, nothing more. There is no lighting.
*JON S | Overall ExperienceThis location charged me for for returning the haul on Monday. They were closed on Monday and charged me $20 extra fee!! That is not fare. They also charged a clean up fee. That was unreasonable the haul was as clean as when I picked it up. I want my $45 back!

They had two 26' trucks and one had bald rear tires, so luckily he other was okay. Not the fault of the location, but we reserved the truck a month early and were to pickup in Montrose 30 miles away). But none available at the time of pickup so had o drive an an additional 35 miles to get the truck in Paonia

Barry PThe inside of the cab on the truck had a very bad odor. My husband had to use air freshener every time we stopped. It really needs a good cleaning on the inside. On a positive note, the lady behind the counter was a big help and very pleasant.
Virginia WFarnsworth was fine and the people there were really great, kind, she helpful. The problem was that it was over four hours away from the location where I reserved the trailer. UHaul waited until it was too late to make alternative plans before calling to let me know. The website continued to show available rentals for that day in Denver. This is fraudulent behavior on UHaul's part.

However, with no other options I rented a 10’ truck that was clean, new and reliable. The customer service on both ends was friendly and helpful. Larry FNothing wrong with this place, excellent people; U Haul sucks - I reserved in Denver Metro, 2 days before they asked me to drive 4.5 hours to pick up this trailer, when asked why they couldn't call more than 2 days before the answer was 'we aren't allowed' to prevent me from making alternate arrangements; it's a f-ing corporate scam and I am reporting UHaul to FTC and state attorney generals office; I realize there is a shortage but to keep people hanging on that lousy excuse is a total scam

MARISELA EWe were given this drop-off location on a day this business was closed. There is inadequate cell service at this location so I was unable to use the self-drop options. I called another local site that was open, they would not accept my equipment. I accrued an extra day charge that isn't fair. The company representative I "chatted" with was not overly helpful. I understand a manager will review this issue and get back within 3 days. DON'T ASSIGN A DROP-OFF LOCATION THAT IS CLOSED!!!

Christina GWe rented a truck and car hauler trailer. The truck was perfect; clean and ran great. The trailer was another thing entirely. Midway on the trip, the right rear axle spring perch came loose and the axle slipped rearward. Scary and extremely dangerous! The rental folks in Paonia, as always, were wonderful and everything turned out okay. I'd have someone look at that trailer, though.
