what I really don't understand is why u haul has went to the idea of a reservation to rent; instead if the item u desire to rent is sitting at the spot u go to and it also does not stat anything of that nature on ur web site;;a statement that u need a reservation in order to pick up a item needs to be place some where on ur web site but once the reservation came through it was smooth process

We rented a trailer and our plug on our lights was round and your trailers are square, we had to ride with no lights because yall don't have an adapter. I think you ought to offer an adapter so it's legal when we leave the lot. Other than that, Thanks the price is right and convenient.

Waited for half an hour without agent showing, ended up getting upcharged because I had to essentially cancel my order and start a new one. The only reason this was not a 1 star experience is that the clerk at Farr's gas station was eventually able to process it. I will not be using this location again, and since this was probably an agent that has multiple locations, I will not be using U-Haul in that area again.

They did not check truck or give me a receipt. Had to call uhaul and transfer to regional mgt and rec. an email receipt. Also reported that the reason the truck was not addressed properly was because the uhaul attendant was off for New Years Eve.

I was supposed to pick up at the uptown location but they were to incompetent to and then told me I had to drive 30 miles out of my way in the wrong direction . They said I made my resurvation at a different location. WRONG. Basically. Uptown SUCKS. As far as Bessemer location and the North Richland hills location were absolutely wonderful.

This location does not help you connect or drop the equipment off. The rental manager does not seem to care if you rent from them again. I won't be back and after dealing with him I'm questioning whether my next rental will be a uhaul.

Uhaul great but this location worse I ever been to they messed up the time so I was moving in the heat of the day with my heart condition I was worried but I got thru it ok no problem with truck what so ever.

Was extremely disrespectful. Said he would not inspect the equipment until an hour later. So when I got my phone so I could get proof where he couldn't inspect it he told me take the trailer. And get the f*ck off his property. Had all this on camera told U-Haul and all they said is that they would make a note of it. They should not let him be a supplier for U-Haul. Send other customers to a different location.

This review has nothing to do with Farr Hardware as a company. They were helpful and attentive. My issue is with having to drive 30 minutes to Bessemer to pick up this truck when there is a major UHAUL store in Pelham, 12 minutes away. The Bessemer location guaranteed that I would go over on miles although it was not significant. The truck was clean and in great operating condition. I loved the the mobile app and how easy it was to drop off the truck in Troy. UHAL has a lot of good things going.

Cab was dirty and smelled of smoke. Rear still had a box and other items in it. Had not been swept out. Rice spilled on the floor. I pointed this out to the clerk. He put the box a On the ground and returned to his store.

We did have an issue with the lights not working, but it may have been a wiring problem with our car. I’m not sure. My husband took it to another location and the guy re-wired everything. It worked great the rest of the trip. :-) When I called and booked, everyone was VERY helpful, professional, warm, and friendly. Great customer service experience. We actually needed it a few days longer than the system allows you to book, so they put me through to someone who could help me extend the time. But a few days before we were supposed to return it, I got an email from “equipment recovery” saying that our U-Haul was not returned on time. I’m guessing that for some reason, our extension didn’t prevent the automated system from flagging it as unreturned. When I called the number on the email, the guy was super nice and he took care of it, as well as adding an additional day that we needed. We didn’t use it for moving, but to pull behind our little SUV for a family camping trip. It was just what we needed and the price was right! The biggest thing I would say, is that the customer service was a perfect ten. So hats off to whoever hires and trains your employees! I hope your promote within the company, because the people we dealt with certainly deserve to be rewarded for going above and beyond. We’re happy campers! Kim

The location should be more familiar with basic questions regarding a reservation order. They could not confirm what drivers were listed. Also when I called Customer Service I could not reach anyone. I called for several days.

When customer is scheduled to pick up a U-Haul they should be able to come and pick it up and leave not wait come back wait come back I had a very bad experience rent a U-Haul my customer service was unsatisfaction I would not recommend it to a friend or family my schedule was to pick up the U-Haul at 10 a.m. but instead I pick the Uhaul up at 2 p.m. Keep going back and forth to the U-Haul place in Pelham where I supposed to pick it up I did not receive it he called and had me to she kept give me the runaround about picking up the U-Haul I kept saying her I had bro Statesville but this one because they sent me from Pelham to hear and she kept telling me no but one thing she don't understand but one thing she does not understand English and that was my bad as experience

Make sure your personnel know how to drive the vehicle with a trailer attached! Employees would not back the trailer into a parking spot, even though I refused to do it three times. I had to struggle through this, as the individual checking me in would not do it.

The guy was 30 minutes late from the time Uhaul section was to be open causing me to be late for the movers I paid to be at my house. Why even have opening hours if you are going to be there.

Our first assigned pick up was very rude, we left without picking anything up. We called customer service and was able to pick up at Farr's, but the lady wasn't very clear. She stated you can rent the small truck for same amount $ as the trailer. She failed to mention the insurance cost and mileage cost, plus fill up. The "rental" cost may have been the same, but details on the addt cost wasn't included in her statement, which could have been very misleading to some. Then on pick up date they placed hold on my account, when we returned the truck mileage was less, so they charged my account, until the hold amount is dropped, I have over 200 in expenses for this uhaul, very misleading!

The person who was able to complete my order was not there when I arrived. After about a 45 minute process and waiting for him to show up and then struggling with the computer he was not able to properly process my order. He told me that someone else would come in later that day process it and that I could take the truck. I never received an email. The truck smelled like rotten milk. When receiving my bill I was charged for the safe move when I declined it both online and in person.

We were first diverted from the location of choice (and of promise, by UHAUL) to this location. When I called (after being told by the Pelham location that the trailer we were promised, and had already rented was unavailable) to verify that they (Farr's) WOULD indeed have the one we needed, the man would not even take the time to look up my reservation. He was very rude. When asked if he could help us with an adapter for the lights, I was told "Just let me deal with it when you get here." So...after all of that, the trailer that we ended up with has something severely wrong with it. It jerks and it pulls...according to my brother-in-law, something must be wrong with the breaking system, I don't claim to know what its issue was...all I know is that it hopped and skipped and jumped and that due to our schedule, there was no time to bring it in to exchange it. When we dropped it back off on Sunday morning and explained its condition, there was not even so much as an apology offered. There is NO WAY I will EVER do business with you all through that or the Pelham location. I have been using your services for many years now, and I can not believe how horrendous this entire experience was.

Farr Hardware was exceptional since the original pick up location could not meet our reservation. I was a bit upset because i was unaware that it had been transferred to another pick up location. I had stopped in 2 days before and confirmed and when my son got there, he was told he had to go somewhere else. It delayed us, but Farr Hardware was awesome, and my son got his things safely to his destination.

The computer connection was a little sketchy which caused the checkout transaction to take longer than it should have. The staff on site were very accommodating and easy to deal with. The truck had a slight wobble in the front end but handled well at interstate speed. The AC was cold. The radio worked. The ramp rolled smoothly. The cargo area had lots of places to tie down the load. Gas mileage was decent. One way check in was simple. Everything that you are looking for when moving yourself. Overall a very unexpected pleasant experience.
