They were closed though I had a reservation. Then they charged me extra for fuel when I left it with the same amount of fuel as I started with, actually, some extra.

There was nobody there when I went to get my equipment and when he showed up he didn’t walk me through the online check in process to I missed the window to upload photos. The gentleman who hooked up the trailer didn’t tighten the hitch and the chains were dragging on the ground. I had to re-do it to make it safe. Upon returning the trailer the staff was again absent, then not helpful. The location was convenient but the assistance was lacking.

Problems started before pick up at this location. Having made a reservation about a week in advance requesting the pickup be at our local location, we got a call the day before pick up that we would now have to travel 45min one-way if we wanted the same set up. The woman on the phone stated I should feel lucky that we could even get this combo at all as transports were in short supply. I did not feel lucky. She did her best to rectify the situation by finding the combo slightly closer. So with few options and limited time, we accepted. Now at the Folsom Dam Market. Its a market and, if I had to guess their priorities are not the safety and maintenance of trucks and trailers nor customer service. The box truck drivers seat was very loose ....some nuts were backed off the stud about .5 inches. The attendant did his best to fix them on the spot but could not reach all of them. I drove to Reno on a loose seat. The trailer looked fine from the quick walk around at the market. The tie downs were all twisted and waded up in a ball, it hooked up fine and pulled fine. On move day the last thing you do is load the vehicle. Those waded up straps turned out to be completely torn and too short to reach the rachet. Its late, I'm completely loaded and now have to go invest in my own tie downs at harbor freight and barely make it there before they close. Now on ground in a harbor freight parking lot fixing an issue someone knew about but decided not to tell anyone. I made it safely to Reno just before midnight.

I did not have a great experience at all. I decided to the mobile pick-up because we had deadlines to fulfill. The location I picked up the truck was a gas station/liquor store/restaurant. Upon going inside to get the keys I noticed the clerk had too much going on with the other businesses and I had to wait for a while. When I finally got the keys and opened the truck I noticed the floor and step were muddy, also the fuel was lower than specified on the app. I uploaded a photo to show. When I checked to see if the dolly we rented was in the truck I noticed it wasn't, so I had to go back in the way too busy store and wait. An hour after I first arrived I was able to be on my way which put me back on my deadlines. The drop of location wasn't as bad but when I entered the fuel amount on the app it said I was being charged $14.00. It's just ridiculous how much of a hassle it is to do the mobile pick up and drop off. I will definitely be using another rental company for my next load.

I always use U-Haul when I need a truck rental (3-4 times per year). I usually use the location in Orangevale, Better Design Experience. It is an excellent location because they offer great customer service in person and also has the option of on-line check in and check out. In this instance they did not have the equipment available. So I reserved the equipment at the Folsom Dam Market location. This location only offers on-line service. I had a bad experience previously. I checked in on-line, took all the appropriate photos, got the confirmation and instructions to go inside to pick up the key. As with my last experience, the person at the counter had no idea what to do and had to call someone on the phone. I had to wait, and wait, and wait. It also became clear that the customers at the convenience store counter were a much higher priority then the uhaul rental counter. He finally reached the person he was calling and came back to the counter. I still had to walk him through the process. I finally got the key. The van was clean and in good shape. When I returned the trucvk I was able to check out completely on-line and did not have to deal with the market.

Nobody answered the phone when I called. I had to walk into the gas station to see if they were affiliated with the Uhaul rental company. Staff person just told me to leave the keys with him and park the truck somewhere - not exactly an easy feat considering it was 26' long. No sign off, no discussion about the truck or any issues with it. The clerk simply told me that someone will register it as returned later that day. Seemed a little sketchy. Finally the clerk came outside to tell us where to park the truck.

The only knock on this place at this time was they only had one employee to do everything, which means there are long waits for service. Secondly, the bathroom was one of the filthiest bathrooms I have been since the 7th inning stretch at The Oakland As colosseum.

Make sure your local has an auto/ transport. Don’t make a customer drive 30 min. Out of their way to pick it up, bc the other local couldn’t deliver it. Poor!! Then this autotransport wouldn’t fit my truck. Even though it was discussed I have Ford F-150 . Wasted my time, and lost money.

The man called me at 9:01am (reservation was for 9:00am), asking if I was coming to pick up the vehicle. I confirmed that I would be there in about 10 minutes because UHAUL changed my pick up location now 40 minutes farther than my original pick up location. I get there and he was no where to be found. He finally shows up and was very rude. He did not want to help me and the process took longer than it has EVER taken before. Then he got mad because I wanted to add a driver and he said it was too late. After making excuses, he finally added the extra driver and we went to get the vehicle. While I was taking pictures for the app, as necessary for pickup, the guy was backing up another truck and got very close to hitting me with the truck. I was yelling for him to STOP and WAIT for me to finish and he just kept backing up the truck. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Total time to pick up the vehicle was close to an hour!! This is unacceptable!! AND I still have not received my refund from the supplies I ordered but was not able to pick up due to the location change! DO BETTER UHAUL!!

Teach multiple people how to do check in and check outs of equipment so you don’t have to wait for 1 person. Don’t upcharge insurance when it was clearly not ordered on the reservation. When renting a trailer have someone help getting it disconnected off the tow vehicle, especially since it’s a tandem wheel trailer that the hitch dosent hit the ground and wants to roll toward the tow vehicle when disconnected. I needed the trailer which I was happy with but the customer service was poor.

service is ok, they appeared suprised I had a reservation, this location of service is in a food market, not your typical U haul store, cargo trailer was in good shape, they could not give me a receipt and said they would email which worked out fine in the end.

Truck was not parked anywhere near the others so we thought it wasn’t there at all for 30 minutes. Staff inside was not present; gas station attendant could not contact.

Were very helpful, allowed my switch my pickup time, and gave me an extra day for free! For which I'm forever grateful, because I wouldn't have finished by yesterday otherwise, and logistically I had to finish yesterday. So you all are Lifesavers and I'll always be grateful!

Truck was dirty, did not want to do walk around for damage, said truck had 1/2 tank of gas but only 1/4. Went in to tell him and told me yo just take a picture. Very unprofessional and definitely did not know what he was doing. Took 1-1/2 hours to get truck!!! Definitely did not represent uhaul and their standards. Have rented many trucks and have never expersuch a poorly run operation.

Don't let a customer book a U-Haul at one location and then make them drive 10 minutes out to the way to a different location to pick up the truck they ordered. You guys had a week to get the truck at my booked location. Disappointed

The manager was incompetent. It took me longer to complete the rental process then it did for me to use the truck. What a joke!! I just realized I could of avoided the whole mess and rented the truck using the app on my phone. I would never use this location again as these guys don't know anything.

There is no signage explaining that there is a U-Haul attendant inside the convenience store, so I wandered around outside for about 10 minutes trying to figure out where the U-Haul section was before just going inside and asking the convenience store attendant. There are no indications of where to park the truck or how to find the U-Haul attendant. I arrived more than an hour before the U-Haul drop-off was supposed to close, but the U-Haul manager or attendant had already left, so the convenience store attendant had to call them and do the check-in himself. I received a call the net day that my truck had not been returned even though it had. This location is very poorly run and confusing and needs to be better managed and advertised.

Took over an hour to pick up the truck. This is a multi-business operation. The "uhaul" guy was not in, the person helping had to call him to find out what to do and how to do it. Meanwhile, same guy is running a gas station, car wash, and convivence store. It took way to long to get on my way and start packing.

I had an issue with my first pick up location and had to go to this location. I reserved a 15 ft truck and then while I was waiting in line, they gave my truck to the angry person in line ahead of me. She reserved a 10 ft truck and got my 15 ft truck. I had to take a 10 ft truck two hours after my original reservation. They said that I could bring the truck back 3 hours late and that they would discount the miles, since I had to make multiple trips with a smaller truck. There was no paperwork for me to sign at all. No contracts or paperwork at all. And no one to help me with the return. There was no discount at all and I think I ended up paying more than I thought. The whole experience was bad and I need to review my invoice to see why it was more than I anticipated. I will never rent a uhaul truck again.

Filled the truck full of gas ($20), found out I didn’t need to as if there was still 7/8 of a gallon remaining I didn’t need to fill it up. They wouldn’t compensate me for the $20 in gas I paid rven though I used their gas station.

They are not really a Uhaul store. Took a long time to rent the Van. He also had to work the register in the gas Station. He went back and forth. Very annoying . The door of the side van did not work. I should of checked it but i checked the back door instead. I found out when i got to the storage unit and tried to open it up. I did call him to tell him about it. I took a week to close the contract and someone from Uhaul called me and asked when i was going to return it. I was embarrassed from the call, but I had already return the Van that day. She did follow up for me and got it taken care of. Tom

When we arrived to do self check in, the tuck was there our reservation was set for 8:30 but when we clicked to check in it said the truck would not be available until 11. The person at the desk was able to get everything sorted out with in 15 min. Then there was confusion b/ we were told we could drop the truck off at any location but when we called a different uhaul we were told we could not do that. So just communication issues with pick up and drop off influences our rating.

using the on line check in system was cumbersome but I understand and muddled through. when I went up to the counter there was a line and the reason there was a line is there was some fool who arrived after me (I was struggling thru all the online steps on my own) and walked up to the cashier to have him help him thru each step. ridiculous. I had to say "hey I did that all already, can I get my truck" I still had to wait while the fool needed handholding

WHEN WE ARRIVED, WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY NO LONGER DID UHAUL CONTRACTS AS OF LAST WEEK. I SAW A TRUCK IN THE PARKING LOT AND SHOWED MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER. THE EMPLOYEE CALLED HIS BOSS WHO THEN WAS PUT ON SPEAKER. THEY SPOKE IN A LANGUAGE THE WHOLE TIME I DID NOT KNOW. SOMEHOW THEY FOUND MY RESERVATION AND I GOT MY TRUCK. THERE WAS LESS THAN 1/2 A TANK OF GAS IN IT, WHICH WAS NOT GOOD BECAUSE WE HAD A LOT OF DRIVING TO DO. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED AND IT DELAYED US A LOT DUE TO THEM "NO LONGER USING UHAUL CONTRACTS". I WAS DISAPPOINTED BUT AT LEAST I GOT THE TRUCK. THEY ASKED US TO RE-DO EVERYTHING THAT I HAD DONE ONLINE SUCH AS NAME, PHONE NUMBER, ETC.

Have 2 clerks. There was only 1 clerk who was also the gas station cashier and spoke very poor english. He kept stopping our process to assist other customers which caused him to lose our information multiple times and the whole process to drag on for an hour which caused us to miss the retun deadline for our rental car and pay extra there. He also entered our information wrong and even though I asked him directly if the rental was for 12 days and he said yes he inputted it on the contract as a 2 day rental.

You have to watch out for this location, they had charges that are no requested. Before getting the truck the staff member expected me to unload the equipment in the back of the truck before taking it when I didn’t need or request items. This location leaves your personal information on the counter when this location is a gas station/fast food chain and has a lot of public access to see your information. Very thankful for U-haul customer service in refunding the charges. Highly don’t recommend this location.

I wish there was signage saying that this was a U-Haul Rental center There was only one U-Haul rental truck If that truck wasn't there. It would've been very hard to find this location

HORRIBLE!! When I picked up my truck the associate asked if I was returning to the same location, I said no I was returning to Yuba City and he said ok. The truck I reserved was a 17', yet I ended up with a 15' truck, which in turn caused me to take several more trips than expected and I had pay movers twice. When I called to extend the rental I was told I was to drop off at the same location I picked it up from and if I was to drop it off at a different location they said no because that location owns the truck. I asked to speak with someone who could help me. The following day I got a call from the district manager who was incredibly rude, and accused me of trying to get the rental for free from the start of the call, never once did I ask for anything OTHER THAN to change the drop off location, which he told me if I did drop off in yuba city he would charge me hundredsof dollars in fees. The call ended with him threatening to ban me from renting from uhaul ever again (not a big deal, plenty of other truck rental companies out there, many of them are much more affordable AND the actually provide CUSTOMER SERVICE). Because I had to wait for a ride to return the truck since I was not expecting to have to go back out to Folsom to return the truck, I called customer service to extend the rental a day, who said they had to call the district manager for permission. I then explained to the customer service agent what had happened and that he would not help me. She assured me that extending it a day would not be a problem and called him anyway. When she got back to me she informed me that I had to return it now or the district manager would report it as STOLEN!!! How could that be when I called to extend it! The district manager is unprofessional, a bully and has no business being in a position of authority. I called corporate and never received a call back, therefore, I have filed a complaint with BBB. Not to mention the truck had it's windshield taped one, was filthy and full of trash when I got it. Also, upon return they used a "APP" to determine the gas level on an old truck, which I am positive is not compatible with any sort of gas tracking app to try to over charge me for gas. Thank goodness I had my gas station receipt and took pictures of the gas gauge upon return showing I had filled it up to the specified amount so they could not get away with it.
