Before this location I had originally booked another location, Nove Nine Locals Diner & Coffee (3303 3rd Ave NW, Calgary AB T2N 0M1). I had booked an online pickup, then arrived and tried to pick up, and there was no truck assigned to my reservation! My pickup was for 6 pm and the Diner closed at 6, and the owner of the diner came out at 6:05 to rudely say he couldn’t help us because he had to go home. So we called UHaul customer service and were helped at Food World instead. Later found out that Nove Nine doesn’t even do mobile uhaul pickup, which was NOT indicated on the UHaul website. I was quite angry with my UHaul experience before Food World.

This was the worst uhaul experience we have ever had. The truck battery died on our way back as we were at the gas station across the street, we called the shop to be told they cant help us, we had to sit in the cold for an hour waiting for roadside assistance. The truck seats were full of garbage. The parking lot is an ice rink, it took us 15 minutes to get the truck out safely. However, the owners of the location did try to make it right in the end by waving the gas fee for us and apologizing for the horrendous experience.

My uhual got stuck right outside the establishment and then wouldn’t start when I was loaded up to take my furniture to my new place and I was charged for a extra hour because I couldn’t get it back in time.

Truck was extremely dirty. Inside the cabin there were greasy marks and signs of spillage. Windshield was so dirty, the sun was blinding my vision. Wipers can only clean a portion of forward facing view, but everything to the sides was barely distinguishable. Loading area had some spillage too, the floor was covered in chunks of dried mud. Going to the car wash was my first stop. Then I cleaned the interior. And only then I could start loading the truck. Manager at the location was very hasty and didn’t even come to the truck with me.

Booked a reservation online for 12pm, showed up on time for rental. The person at the store did not know how to book me in and give me the key. The person who did arrived 15 min later. Said they forgot the reservation was at 12 not 1230

Watch your pickup location get changed without notifying you. Vehicle is not clean, no door handles, mirrors were off all the time with wind, and watch these are gas hungry machine 50 litres for 77 kms Person was rude and not cooperative

The man in charge at this location took our money and told us the drop off location. However, it was wrong the drop off location did not exist. And luckily we happen to call U-haul customer service about something else and they informed us that. The? Trail BC location was not available for drop off and that we would have to drive 6 hours to Vernon.B c or cranbrook to drop it off instead of trail b c which is only forty minutes away. The man. Who runs this location should be repromanded. Uhaul has Once again been very disappointing they need to get organized and if they have to hire some men to drive u hauls around to different locations so they're all available for drop off. Bad company

Everything was fine but doing the pick up through the app was extremely frustrating. Every time I answered the prompt to continue, the 'continue' button wouldn't work or the prompt didn't activate the 'continue' button to work. And the app kept losing my progress every time I tried to check in before grabbing the key. I just think the UHaul app needs to be worked on or have an easier user interface than what it is now. Picking up the truck was easy but the app made it difficult because it wasn't working the way I wanted to. Returning the truck through the app was easier. If you aren't very tech savvy, I think it's best to do the check in with an attendant rather than the app. Until the app is improved, I probably won't use it again.

parking area is very cramped so it was difficult to get the truck backed out of the lot. could use more signage indoors so that it is clear that the UHaul rentals get signed out from the front cash register and not at the back where all of the equipment is.

The person who was working was horrid. He talked over me. Called me at home was rude. When I brought the van back he was less rude because I brought a man with me. I felt unsafe during my 3 interactions with him. It has made me look for a different place to rent from. I recently have needed to use many trucks and this will continue. But I can not associate myself with a company that is anti women and prejudice. I’ve never had a worse interaction in my life.

Unfortunately the furniture dollies I needed for my move were not available and I was told when I picked up my truck. This made my move awkward and added significant time as the furniture had to be carried. It would be ideal if the customer was informed at the time of booking, or at least 24 hours before the reservation.

The truck was in okay condition. However, I did not get the moving dolly that I had booked and was promised by U-Haul to be available along with my booked truck. This was an absolute nightmare when planning to move items. If the equipment wasn't available, U-Haul should have informed me prior. Another aspect was the refuelling of the truck. Asking us to refuel between 3/8 and before the 4/8 mark of the fuel gauge is like asking us to do a mental calculation of how much fuel is required and all. U-Haul should give the trucks with full tank and then it would be easy for the customer to return the truck with the tank filled again. This is a better option in my view as I have experienced with the other rental car agencies. I filled beyond what was required of me and this was an unnecessary loss for me. Overall a bad experience. I very much doubt these comments would be read by U-Haul.

Terrible experience. The online sign in went well, got my keys. The lot is so small and the likelihood of hitting something while trying to get out is high. Then they called saying i didnt have a contract, so they messed something up. After i was done, the parking lot was even worse to get into. Then i had to spend 40 minutes waiting for them to redo the contract, argue over being charges multiple times. Not happy with my experience and would never rent from or recommend this location. Still waiting on my double charges to be cleared up. Not happy

I was informed to take pictures of the dash before and after in order to record the mileage, which I did. However, I was not informed to click some button on the dash in order to display the odometer. As a result, my photos show "Fuel Range 325 miles" (before) and "Fuel Range 326 miles" (after). I was told I drove 19km when in fact it was a much shorter distance, meaning I was overcharged.

The 10' truck we used was clean however it made some interesting random noises when we used the breaks and when we put it in reverse. It appeared to me that it needs an inspection. The shocks seemed to need some attention as well. Other than that it was a great experience and very convenient location!! Nice guys at the desk too!

Unfortunately, despite having rented from U-Haul many times in the past, my recent experience at this location was disappointing. The customer service was poor, and I was surprised to encounter attempts to impose additional charges after leaving the premises. I strongly advise against renting from U-Haul at this store to avoid any unexpected issues. "Check the reviews for this store, and you'll see that I'm not the only one complaining about it."

I had a very disappointing experience at U-Haul. The staff was not only rude but also exhibited racist behavior, which was completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Additionally, I was charged excessively for a simple in-city trip, making the whole experience feel like a total ripoff. I am highly dissatisfied and will definitely not be returning to U-Haul specifically this location.

The truck was dirty on pickup in both the interior and cargo area. Looked muddy and dirt covered. Windshield was cracked all the way across. No washer fluid in the truck. Completed full check in with ID online and the employee still refused to let it go until I gave him my ID, I thought that was the purpose of the online check in.

The service is not friendly at all and feels scammy. They even snuck on extra fees a couple of times hoping I wouldn’t notice and telling me they’re mandatory. I think I’ve rented 4 times from this location and it’s been bad each time but unfortunately it’s the closest location for me so I have no choice! One time they weren’t open at the time they were stated too. Another time they closed early and forgot to leave the key in the box for me to mobile pick up. And every time the parking lot is near impossible to get out of and park again. It’s too small and right for these big trucks. I also got yelled at by a neighbour for parking there even though it’s a designated U-Haul spot. They said they’re fed up with it being for U-Haul and the owners of Food World are incredibly rude for the neighbors. 142206

The parking in this pickup location is very tight so if you're not an expert driver you might struggle parking it on pickup and drop-off. The person who attended to us upon checkin was very snarky, really not good for our first experience. The person who handled our drop-off was very accommodating though, I hope I got his name.

The vehicle was filled with mud and the back smelled like a barn. It was clear the vehicle hadn't been cleaned after last use and was in dire need of it. When I dropped the vehicle, they informed me I'd receive a receipt via email. I still have not received and have no idea what I was billed for the vehicle in the end. Disappointed with the experience.

The location is great, but your app needs improvement. You've overloaded the app with too much functionality, causing two problems for customers. Firstly, it takes too much time for them to navigate. Secondly, some people who are unfamiliar with technology or don't own a smartphone face difficulties. Thus, I believe making the app mandatory isn't a wise choice.

My experience was terrible. I initially booked at a location closer, but got a call saying the truck is not available at the location I picked, and they move my booking to Food World location. Upon the change, I confirmed that Mobile pickup is available with U Haul Customer service, and I can picked up at 9am. Thinking everything is settled, I move on to organize the move. Out of the blue, I got a call the night before the move, saying that Mobile pickup is unavailable by a staff from Food World and the store open at 10am. I was not happy about the delay, but it was too late to change any bookings. We arrived at the store by 09:55 the next morning just to pick up on time. The store did not open on time, I called all the contact numbers but no responses. Upon calling U Haul CS, I was told the owner is arriving and would open the door. He did not arrive until 1035, and gave me an attitude, told me "the store opens at 10 and you arrived too early". By the time I picked up the truck, it was 11am, a total of 2 hours delay. The whole experience is frustrating and stressful.

I have been double charged for all my rentals Truck, Pads and Dolly. While I was the last to have the truck for the day returned timely used the Uhaul app to return the truck (which is unnecessary when you can drop the key off in the mailbox). The app crashed on me multiple times making me sit in the parking lot and causing me to have a "late" return while I was there everything ready to go. so now I have double the cost of the rental which is in my mind a complete scam. This location is terrible & wasn't even the location & pick up time I initially ordered from and was forced to use via lack of vehicles elsewhere.

I made a reservation for 9 with the intention of doing the digital pick up. Arrived at the location at 8:50 to start the process and checked my reservation to see that it had been changed to 10, when the shop opens. I was not contacted or informed of this change ahead of time. A huge waste of my time and the time of everyone helping me move. Don’t offer digital pickup if you can’t deliver on digital pickup.

I booked for 2pm and had help coming at 2pm, the location called and woke me up before 1pm saying I had to come get the uhaul now because they’re closing to go out for lunch. This meant I had to rush to get the uhaul and didn’t have moving help coming until 2pm so I had to find somewhere in the meantime to park the uhaul while waiting for help to come move the furniture instead of going straight to the apartment building and being able to use the 30 min loading zone as planned. The uhaul was parked in an extremely tight parking lot which I had to get it out on my own, the parking lot was so tight I had difficulty maneuvering my Hyundai sonata around it, I ended up having to go into the business which had parking spots across from the uhaul spots and had to ask the employees to move their vehicles for me to be able to get the uhaul out of the parking lot. The cab of the uhaul was dirty, found old fast food french fries all over the floor.

Owner/manager there was rude and arrogant. Stepped out to view the returned Uhaul and told ('commanded') me to stay in place and watch the store in the meantime. Twice! Guy then almost charged me for over 1000 miles of additional driving (for a move from Edmonton to Calgary <210 miles!) just because he couldn't originally figure out how to convert the km reading in the truck to miles. He also implied that I had changed the readout in the truck whereas I never changed anything inside the vehicle aside from the seat and the right side mirror! Had to explain to him what he was doing wrong with the conversion. This delayed the check in procedure considerably. Parted ways in a friendly manner, though. I was just glad to get out. Wouldn't rent from this location on a weekend, at least.

Still haven’t seen my final bill , 24 hours later. No documentation was provided upon return of vehicle. I called the location after return and they said I would see an email receipt in 15 minutes. I still haven’t received it. Vehicle was returned in perfect condition
