I had to clean snow from vehicle. Got vehicle 3 hrs late . Was told quarter tank of gas but their was less. Should be received full. Owner had a major attitude. After receiving vehicle 3 hrs late he informed me I better be back by 6pm that day.This guy is bad for business. Use Penske it's10 x's better service. The last time Iwill ever use U-Haul. They owe mw my money back for all the crap.Richard K.
I had a rental which I could have reserved for a full $24hrs but I was asked to estimate how long I would be. I under estimated by a couple of hours and was double charged for the rental for being late. No other customers were impeded by the late return and this business practice sucks. I wanted the extra charge credited or something done but nobody got back to me from customer service.Steve W.

The truck was filthy when I got it. I had to sweep out old pieces of dog food and nails before using it. We also noticed when refilling the gas that the safety inspection sticker was about a month expired. I've rented a truck before and it was great but that one needs some attention.Kristy B.
Clean the vehicles. Plow the parking lot so the truck doesn't get stuck. Booked the truck to pick up at 9am but on the day of pickup I had to wait an hour for the location to open but I was never notified that 9am was not available for pickup here.Amanda F.

Yes I have a huge problem with my bill. I was not supposed to be charged the service fee and the fill up fee. I brought the truck back with maybe a km off in the tank. They gave it to me just under 1/4 and I gave it back to them just under 1/4. Being so strict it wasn't a mm or two off is so passiveÂ aggressive and ridiculous. If you want people to be EXACT then give them a full tank and tell them to bring it back full. I was also told by the store employees the charge was only going to be 20$ I have witness of that. I had a very important appointment that was 2 hours away I was already late for and did not have time to waste around. I was willing to accept the 20$ fee but I will not accept a 70$ fee. The difference in the pictures she took is virtually null and to be so aggressive about such a minute amount is just bad service. I expect a refund and a call from someone to discuss this.Â Not to mention the truck sounded and acted like it was about to fall apart.Jordie P.
I booked the U-Haul for 9am and they arranged pick up for me at a store that did not open until 11am. They keys were not in the lockbox and were inside the store. The first lady on the phone transferred me and I was on hold for a long period of time before getting disconnected. The second lady was pleasant and did her best, however that was not much help with the keys being in the closed store.Shannon B.
The cab smelled and was grubby, had to step over a puddle of vomit to get into the cab and the woman who managed the store had marginal english skills at best and was not able to explain things or answer question, which was not her fault but made the transaction more complicated than it needed to be..Szanne M.
I was given the keys without any walk around. I had booked the van for 24 hours I picked up around 1 PM and said I hoped to have it back by 8pm. I swept the van immediately before returning it. I returned the van before 9pm. The store was open and I gave the keys to the lady in the store Again no inspection of the van. Imagine my shock when I received the invoice. I was charged for 2 days rental plus after hours charge and cleaning fee plus tax. the store has not answered their phone all morning and no voice mail. I tried to rent a dolly early in the a.m. The wife Came out and motioned to me to go around the front and they would open the store. No one came to open the door. I ended up waiting for 1 1/2 and the door said that it opened at 9:30 when in fact they officially open at 10:30, after telling me they would open to get the dolly!Frances L.

Truck was wet and dirty inside. Was very noisy i.e. no muffler. Staff in store were very pleasant but this is the second time I have got a truck from this location that was not in an acceptable condition. It is obvious the trucks are not being properly maintained.DAVID M.

Very poor service at this location, it took half hour to get the truck because the woman didnt know how to set everything up and had to call her boss. Could not speak english so i was very confused with the contract. And when i went to return it, the man just didn't say anything to us at all... not impressed. Need more trucks available in peoples own cities, driving to oshawa for that service was not worth it.Breanna K.
Why does the website allow equipment to be selected/rented from locations where the equipment isn't? Every time I book with uhaul it is the same thing. I pick a location, finalize my booking and then am directed to a totally different location for pickup. It makes online booking inefficient for me and almost resulted in me not being able to pick the equipment up. The location I selected was open until 11:00pm and the location I was directed to was only open until 9:00pm. In the past, I have been directed to locations that where they were already closed. Don't allow customers to select locations if that selection will not be honoured.Michael H.

The truck should not be on the road for rental. There was a crack in the floor which blew extremely hot air into drivers foot making it unsafe to drive and painful! When I told the rental guy about this upon returning the truck he told me that he had reported several problems with the truck and it should not he on the road! It was extremely load and brakes were hard to use. It was an absolute terrible experience and the guy didn't seem to care or offer any discount for my stress and pain (burn mark on my foot). I would not rent from this place again which is unfortunate because I always use uhaul and have another move on July 23rd!Nicole H.
We were left hanging when the reservation I'd made for a cube van at a different location was unavailable due to the store being closed early for the holiday. I had reserved for four thirty and they closed at four... thankfully the Four Guys Convenience location had a rental that was available for our quick delivery of furniture. NEVER!!! When returning the truck, I asked if they were going to come out to check it. The woman replied that that was not necessary as I already had my receipt - she was really not interested, took the keys and then returned to the back room so I left. Upon receiving my Visa statement, I saw that I was charged an additional $83.06 as well as the estimated $66.97. After speaking to a customer representative of U Haul, I was told that the mileage was significantly higher (I''m not sure about that one) but I was also charged $50 for gas - I had filled it back up to 1/4 tank just before returning it. I will NEVER pick up a rental truck from anywhere other than a U Haul Centre and I definitely will not recommend a pick up or rental from $ Guys Convenience.Maureen B.
The guy at the pickup location was not only rude but didn't explain how uhaul works and didn't give us the walk around before we left. He didn't explain how many km we had free, and he didn't ask anything about out reservation. All he asked was for a drivers license, and where we were dropping off (even though my reservation said the location). I really wasn't comfortable taking the uhaul from him.bradley G.

I have signed up to have the Dolly and furniture pads upon picking up the van. However, none of these items were inside of the van when I picked it up. I was charged $15 for it.miko D.
Hi I am responding by saying that I reserved a van with my debit visa card and was reassured that the card would suffice to rent the vehicle. Well when I got there it wasn't. I had to track down a friend with a visa to rent the van, which was a major inconvenience as it was pouring rain. Needless to say I am not impressed. BrianBrian N.
Tell them to choose another location. Uhaul is great... this location is beyond disappointing. They don't have trained english speaking staff. The process to pick up took 1 hour 15 minutes. The girl would not call Uhaul, I had to use my cell costing me! She would not do any of the suggestions from Uhaul 800#. She ran my credit card 5x and twice I was charged $1. That as of now she insists she didn't do. She took pictures of the screens and called her husband or boss? with screenshots. Speaking Korean? Horrible, Horrible experience. I was in tears. She belittled me. In the end I got through to her and was able to get the rental for one day. I originally hoped to rent for three days... and due to the situation, I returned the next day. My husband returned. I came to pick him up to find him waiting for almost half hour. She could not get her computer to work. She wouldn't give my confirmation that the van was returned. She was rude. I was not impressed that she would not give me her signature to confirm I returned the vehicle on time. I called Uhaul again and she finally signed a note that the vehicle was returned. Very stressful experience. I'll never go back. I must add that the problem complicating this experience was the fact that Uhaul has linked someone who worked for me for one day to my uhaul account. Wanting me to pay their outstanding bill. Your 800# I hope took care of this situation. The first girl I spoke with, was awesome at the 800#. We did get discounnected but she did call my home# back. Problem was I was at 4guys on a cell that the battery was dying. When I called back I was forwarded to Nova Scotia then Ontario. I just did not have battery enough. Quoted a completely different price when I showed up at the location and it took them one hour to get the order right. Then when I returned they tried to charge me because I was an hour late with the return. When I complained that they wasted an hour of my rental time because they didn't know what they were doing, they told me i should have known to change the drop off time. This is was my first experience with Uhaul. My experience with the people at the 800 number was fine but at the location it was the worst customer service experience i've had in a long time.joel W.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION... THE FOUR GUYS CONVENIENCE STORE @ 174 RITSON RD SOUTH OSHAWA, ONT. I HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR THE KEY TO THE TRUCK, MY BOOKING WAS FOR 8:30AM, I RECEIVED THE KEY AT 10:00AM. I SPOKE WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT FROM UHAUL WHILE I WAS WAITING, WHO BY THE WAY, WAS VERY HELPFUL AND APOLOGETIC. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT SPOKE WITH THE STORE OWNER DIRECTLY., AND MADE HIM AWARE OF THE SITUATION, THE STORE OWNER TOLD THE AGENT, THAT HE WAS NOT COMING RIGHT AWAY. HE WAS VERY RUDE BY THE WAY. I RECOMMEND UHAUL NOT ALLOW THESE VARIETY STORES TO RENT OUT THEIR VEHICLES......I WOULD SUGGEST RENTING A UHAUL VEHICLE ONLY FROM A UHAUL STORE LOCATION. The shop opened up 45minutes late. I was unable to get my rental at the time agreed upon through our contract. The store owner said he did not rent out your trucks anymore even though I had a valid confirmation number that was emailed to me. After 10minutes of waiting he finally went through with the transaction. I would never recommend this location to anyone and it has left me with a bad impression of U-Haul pick up locations.Travis K.

I attempted to use the online feature to pick up my rental. When I completed all the required fields I was instructed to enter the location and get my key. The store owner did no trust the online procedure and made me complete all the forms and license check again. Kind of makes me question why there is an online option at all.Andrew O.
It's not because the people who work there were not polite,they were very polite.its because of the break in communication from the head office and the employees not being able to access the information. It was very frustrating . I was also double charged for a storage I wasn't even keeping. Imy bank account was wiped out for 5 days. It finally was put back. Now u haul refuses to remove my credit card from their system. I am very up . So this is not right. U haul should not be keeping my credit card info in their system. I finished with them on the first. So uhaul needs to have better communication with head office and the employeesDarlene O.

Rented a trailer. There isn't much room the maneuver inside the lot. I was also unable to contact the representative at the store to inquire about bringing the trailer back an hour later than anticipated. The telephone number listed on the contract just went to a voicemail service and I didn't receive a call back. This would have been a bigger problem had there been an emergency. The trailer itself was fine, and the in-store service was fairly efficient.Mark F.

Convenience store sold porn, bongs, male enhancement drugs. Owner would not even make eye contact until 2-4 people buying lottery tickets were served, even though I was waiting in a separate queue. The only U-Haul branding visible was the word "uhaul" written on a cardboard box, saying he does not accept debit. The payment machine is a crusty Acer laptop with a USB card swipe. Chip and pin is not available. Immediately after he swiped my card, I received a phone call from TD Bank Fraud protection, saying they have cancelled my credit card due to this terminal having a history of fraud-related issues. Between being on the phone trying to get them to re-enable my card to complete the purchase, and waiting for the sketchy customers, I was there almost 40 minutes. I now have to update all my online payments, because the clown that owns this place is either willfully committing fraud, or his negligence to secure his point of sale system has lead people's credit cards to be compromised. Moving without a credit card was very difficult. Stop doing business with this clown. There are many convenience stores in the area that are far less ghetto, and a U-Haul location in North Oshawa already.Keith H.

The truck was filthy when I got it. I asked the man for a walk threw to check it out but he told me that it wasn't worth the hassle because I already have the insurance so it wouldn't matter if there were dents or scratches or any damage. The floor mats were extremely muddy too. The truck bed was the worst part of the whole thing. It was wet and dirt everywhere. I was forced to clean it myself and even after was forced to put a tarp down to save my furniture from getting ruined. After speaking with 2 very rude customer service employees about a location issue, both who managed to hang up on me, I was finally received by a polite and helpful woman ( Deidre ) who took down my info about the cleanliness of the truck. After this experience I will now look elsewhere for renting a moving truck. I have always used U-Haul and have experienced a decent service but it seems as of late your employees could care less about helping their customers.Richard S.

This has now been the second time that I have ordered a uhaul online weeks in advance, showed up to the location on time, and they did not have my uhaul. After location called their customer service line to figure out what happened, my truck was "accidentally" sent to Quebec. I specifically chose the K&S Brock Street location as it is a 5 minute drive from the house were moving out of, knowing we were on a tight timeline as we had movers helping us and showing up at a specific time, this was the perfect option for us. As there was nothing they could do for us at this location since they had no trucks available now I was told that I had to now travel farther to ritson road but wouldn't be charged the extra km (I was charged the extra km) and that for my troubles I would receive a $50 credit (I've already been billed for the service and surprise surprise, no credit). Let's just say I am extremely disappointed in uhaul. I gave them a second chance after this happened previously when they didn't have the truck I ordered, but instead we were late for the movers because of this and we're still charged for a service that was terrible.Anjelica P.

In regards to the rental itself everything was great. The truck (10' truck) had no issues, it was clean and worked well for our moving needs. In regards to the location I was a little skeptical, having read previous reviews. The check-in and out process was longer than expected, despite filling out the paper work in advance. I was advise that I can pay by cash (at drop off) with a deposit, or credit card on file. Yet after having me wait for 15 minutes, during drop-off, they still charged the amount to my credit card. I don't usually give reviews, let alone bad ones, but I was not satisfied with this service. I expect much more from Uhaul. Since there is an actual franchise location in this city. Next time i suggust walking into the location on Taunton Rd (east of Wilson).Ashley W.

#1: before changing the pick up location on the order call first, rather than switching it to a very inconvenient location 20 minutes out of the way. #2: it would be nice if the vehicles were actually ready for pick up. The U-Haul truck I was using was tucked in the back of the lot behind other trucks. When I asked staff at the pick up location if he was going to move one of the other trucks, it was a simple just keep backing up and turning till you get out. The truck windsheild was also covered in a thick sheet of ice. When I asked the staff if they had a brush/scraper he laughed and said no, so I had to run the truck and waste gas before I even left the parking lot. It should not take 30 minutes to take the truck off the lot after paperwork is done. #3 that location was a huge safety safety hazard in the winter the lot was covered in ice that no one bothered to salt, causing me to slip under the front bumper. Not impressed with this location, I would recommend one of the other couple locations in the area.Jessica S.

The staff is unfriendly. At the time of returning the van I asked them to go and take a look at the vehicle to confirm gas and condition of the van, they said it is ok, they will take a look later. Now I am surprised to see a charge of 30 dollars more on my Visa. They are telling this is for cleaning fee, not sure how they do that if we returned the van in the same condition it was at the time we took it. They refused to take a look with me and not they are charging what they want.Mauricio B.

My credit card statement shows the rental was changed to my card at 4:25pm. After my credit card was charged, It took roughly an additional 10 minutes to finalize the paper work, and inspect the truck. I returned the truck back to the location at 4:34pm the next day. Why was I charged an extra day, when I wasn't late? Furthermore, most reputable companies will give you a 1 hour late grace period. I'm sorry to write this bad review but this is ridiculous.QUINTON B.
