There was no way to get the code to get into the truck when I checked in online. No one answered the phone at the location I was at even though their posted hours said they were open. Not rent a truck that has a mechanical issue. Check engine light went on and vehicle would not accelerate past 70mph on the highway. Total nightmare.linda P.
We had a lot of problems picking up the truck. It took over 2 hours and the majority of that was being on hold with U-Haul. It would not let me check in online, just telling me I had to call. Once I got ahold of someone they fixed it in 2 seconds. We were going through the steps, but it said the keys were in a lock box. There were no keys in there and then it said we had picked up the truck and were good to go. We called the owner of the location and he said we should have been given a combination for the lock on the back of the truck. We never received that, so we had to call U-Haul again. We waited for 45 minutes before getting someone and they gave us the combination. After using the truck, we went back to return. The truck was originally being picked up and dropped off at the same location. We drove to the location and were going to start the process. It said we were supposed to drop the truck off at a different location. I called and they were able to change it. The process was very frustrating especially waiting on hold for so long since the issues were easy and quick to fix.Cody E.

This was honestly the worst experience I have ever had with U-Haul. We showed up early and they were not even open. We knocked on the door for a while and waited. My reservation was for 10am. We could also see the truck. The keys were also not on the rings for the trucks. The two who live across the street come over. Both made comments on the party they were just at the night before. The lady starts getting aggressive and saying there are no reservations on her phone. I reserved the truck on Friday. I was showing her on my phone the reservation on my screen and she was incredibly nasty towards me. After showing them multiple times my phone and being told we didnt have a reservation I was disgusted. They finally said take the truck and we left. We had all the phone checkin stuff ready and submitted and ready to go. I had people waiting at my house at 10 am. We didn't get to them until 1045. My family and friends will never use UHaul again. That was a waste of my money and I got charged for 6 hours of when we didn't even get the truck for 6 hours and that's just wrong.Molly W.

I had a difficult time getting the key from the lockbox due to the location not having a phone number that was usable to contact the manager. Fortunately, another person stooped by who knew the proper phone number so I was able to make contact and get the truck for my use.Leland D.
Be there at the pick up time. After numerous calls to the local office and then headquarters, the managers son-in-law came and said he could help us Not sure if he came as a result of the calls or not. No one available for drop off. Had to avoid running over their outdoor cat. Drop-off location aside. I was very upset that I didn't get a drop off location with my original rental when I picked up and was called only once by a uhaul representative after I picked up the rental. They left a voicemail but didn't leave me any information on where I was supposed to take it, only to have me call back. When I did, I waited on the line for 15 minutes just for the line to disconnect. Very dissatisfied with this uhaul experience.Nicole H.

When it came time to drop off the truck, our GPS took us to the area but we couldn't find the actual business. We asked open businesses in the area and folks didn't know where it was. Our phone GPS took us to the actual business location. The business was "hidden" behind Walmart so we couldn't see any other U Haul trucks. Mildly stressful but we worked through it.john H.

I was 11 minutes late from picking my trailer up and didn't realize I had to pick it up and an exact time, I thought I could pick the trailer up anytime after 10 and at 11 minutes after the hour the owner called me and asked me where I was and informed me that I will be charged for a late fee if I didn't hurry up and get there. I was happy to get there but when When I did I had to laugh because there were full-time employees they could help me at any point it's not like I had to exactly be there at 10. The place was muddy and I sprayed the trailer with mud pulling out that of which I had to clean before I returned it and I had to laugh thinking it was the only place that I had an issue with mud on my entire trip. Other than that the service was ok and the equipment was good thank you very much.Jesse C.

People were knowledgeable and helpful, and check-in and return went smoothly. A flat paved turnaround and hookup/return area would have been nice, but wasn't too big a deal. Also not a big deal, but ideally we would have inspected the interior of the trailer before I took it, so we would be agreed on its condition before rental - not an issue in this case since it was spotless anyway.Robyn D.

Was not up to U Haul Standards. I have rented 6 tow dollies this year. Equipment was rusty and not maintained well. The tie down ratchets was rusty and did not work until it was broke free with break free. Tow was missing 2 pop rivets so I bought a tie down so that ramp clamp would not break off. The lady was very nice but the working condition need to be improved. Also better marking for U Haul should be better posted. I was a had place to find,Richard T.

My Uhaul experience was not only a disaster but it followed up with the worse customer service I have ever experienced period. After making a reservation over 48 hours in advance and receiving multiple verbal and email confirmations that a 26' truck would be available at the reserved location, I received automated messages within less than 12 hours of my reserved pick-up stating the only available truck would be over 45 minutes away. I called four times to resolve this issue and could not speak to a single competent representative who could help to either resolve the issue outright or come up with a secondary solution. After being forced to cancel the reservation (or not move) and renting a last minute truck elsewhere, I received a ridiculous call from the manager. I paraphrase the voicemail "I'm sorry we promised you a truck that is not available...I'm not really sure where the truck is right now...I don't have people to go and get it for you...IT JUST IS WHAT IT IS!". Wow, keep telling people that and see how well your business does. Disappointed, disgusted, annoyed, frustrated, never again U-Haul!AUSTIN S.

I actually sent feedback in via email. The place you sent me was unsafe. It was in a horrible part of town, and if I'd gone with just a female friend, as I intended, I honestly would have forefeited the UHaul rather than get out of the car. The man who checked me out didn't really know what he was doing, and he told me that some local "lowlifes" were trying to break into the UHaul that had arrived THAT MORNING to steal the A/C and radio. Just in case you think I'm exaggerating how bad the area was. I had NO choice in which location I would pick the truck up from, and sending me to a shady ghetto middleman certainly doesn't make me want to use UHaul again, EVER. And that isn't even all of it -- UHaul chose Pataskala as my drop-off location...Pataskala is 40 miles away from me. When I called to get it changed to a closer location, the kid on the phone made movie stoners sound stone-cold sober. Most of his dialogue consisted of long silences (seriously...long enough that I had to keep saying "Are you still there?" and uhhhhhhhhh). I had to say things like "Do you need my name?" "Do you need my reservation number?" "Did you find a location closer than Pataskala?" "Are you still there?" and "Do you need anything else from me? (Actually, just put silence and uuuuhhhhh in between each question and you've got most of the conversation. I've had much better experiences with Penske and Ryder.CAROLYN K.
