Our drop-off experience was incredibly frustrating and confusing. I would not recommend this place AT ALL. I have no idea why this is even a drop-off location. When I was making the reservation online this location popped up as the closest drop-off location to my home and it was still nearly a 30-minute drive away. I don't understand why there is not a drop off location within the metro Nashville area. This place took me nearly to Whites Creek. Not to mention it is VERY unclear what you are supposed to do when you arrive at the drop-off site which is simply a run down gas station with a torn up parking lot where people have left their Uhaul trailers and trucks. The person working the counter within the gas station claimed he did not have our Uhaul reservation and provided no guidance on what we were supposed to do with the vehicle. He was far more interested in selling cigarettes to the patrons in line behind us and was incredibly dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. He told us to call Uhaul directly even though the number posted on our reservation confirmation was the number to the gas station counter. When we called Uhaul we waited for over thirty minutes to be connected to a customer service representative so eventually, we just hung up and tried to process the drop-off on our smartphones. Although the online process was not difficult it was still very unclear that we needed to go through that process in the first place. At the end of the online process, we were directed to place the truck keys in a drop-off box. This would have been fine except there was NO drop off box to be found on the premise! We went back in to the gas station in an effort to show the gas station attendant our drop off confirmation and hand off the keys to him (What else were we supposed to do!?) and after refusing to take the keys and telling us he could not help us he finally snatched the keys out of our hands and chucked them onto the counter all while cussing us out. We were shocked and confused and decided to leave at that point for our safety. This man was belligerent and obviously unqualified to do his job at the gas station and with Uhaul. This whole process simply puts a bad taste in my mouth in terms of renting with Uhaul. I think their trucks are usually great and the idea of the service is great in theory but this enormously poor customer service experience will lead me to seek other options next time.Timothy C.
You need to make sure your vehicles are up to date on maintenance. Ex. Wheel alignment. I drove three hours with consistent shaking of the wheel. I'm also short so a step to get in and out would have definitely helped. Instead, I had to slide down and jump up. I'm a little half and half on pickup recommendation. My original pick up was Charlotte Pike but they didn't have a truck so I had to drive 25 minutes out to this location.TIFFANY B.

To make sure they go out and look everything over and give the customer a printed contract on everything about the truck, i had to call a uhaul representative to adjust my bill because i was over charged and she did an outstanding job taking care of my problem i recommend uhaul to anyone they always take care of their customers.Kenny C.

I was not given a contract at pick up, the person that i checked in with, asked my name, checked her PC, then handed me the key and said "good luck". I found it unnerving that she did not do the typical truck check walk around nor check millage nor fuel level. I had no choice at the moment so i just went with it. when i got home the contract said 3/4 full when in fact it was below half a tank when i picked it up. I was also contacted by phone the day before to inform me that the location i originally confirmed did not have the truck and i needed to go to a different location further away and was told they would add 25 miles to my total allowed millage, but when i dropped off the truck and got my receipt, I was not given the extra millage and went over by 4 miles, thankfully i was not charged for that as the fuel mix up cost me 15 dollars extra to bring it to 3/4 full. The truck cargo area was clean but the cab had food crumbs in it from the last customer. when i dropped it off, the person checking it seemed upset the cab had food in it (picking up pieces and tossing them out onto the ground). I tried to explain that it was not me and that the pickup person did not check it first.richard M.

the owner was very rude,, and told me to take it where i got it,,, he didnt want it,,, and he said he wasnt giving me my deposit back,,, and pushed my contract across the counter and told me to take it back to where i got it,,, 3 times,, and told me he wont give me my deposit back,,, 4 times,,, i will never use him again,, and to be honest,,,, i doubt i use uhaul either,,,, with jerks like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JONATHON B.

This is not a good location for uhaul. It is a store and you have to wait on every customer to be checked out before they help you as only one grouchy employee. Wasted about an hour of the day while people were waiting on us to workKim I.

Told them specifically that I did not want Rental coverage insurance, they were India descent and didn't understand English very well and gave me the insurance anyway, they had no idea how to do anything, took forever to get out of there, told them multiple times I don't need the insurance, you can look up my history and see I NEVER TAKE IT!! they told me to call uhaul since they didn't know how to remove it from my contractDavid J.

Girl behind the counter could not do the paper work and was not informative in what she was doing. Did not talk to me just said O and turned and walked way and got on the phone then said (the girl from u-haul wants to talk to you) talked the a female from u-haul and she was not will train and very direct. Did not sound like she know what she was doing and could not find Spartanburg SC in the system and keep telling he I can find that and it seem like I had to do her job to rent the truck . The girl at the u-haul did not give me a receipt for the cash payment she said I would be getting the contact and receipt by email which I did not receive until 4-1-17 so I was traveling in your truck with no contract or proof of rental if something had happened how was it to prove insurance or that I had the truck legallyraymond S.

The damaged fender I reported before receiving trailer, on my return trip, had to stop and pull fender off tires with a strap. Tires are being rubbed and cut on inside from bent fender and bolts... The ramp on the truck was missing. I wanted two furniture dollies that were not available. I wanted two dozen furniture pads that were not available. The lady at the store complained when I brought the truck back before she closed for the night. It was not a good experience.David H.

Filling out "paperwork" took an hour on the day of moving - that shouldn't take more than five minutes. The trailer inside was dirty and full of leaves - all equipment should be clean. There was a large truck on the lot for rent that had both headlights busted out of it. This is not good advertising for U Haul. U Haul has always had good service. I got no help or advice with hitching up or traveling with a trailer from the pick up point.RICHARD W.

Tell your employee(s) that it's not acceptable to photocopy debit/credit cards. Also, you should tell them not to LIE to your customers! I was told that there was only a hold put on my debit card and that I could pay with cash, my debit card not being touched. I didn't trust that this was true so I pulled up my online bank statement and sure enough, the WHOLE $115.93 was taken out of my account. When I was told at pickup ONLY $100 would be put on "hold". I was to my account would be refunded. I will be watching my account VERY closely, due to the fact I was lied to multiple times already! Very disappointed in the service at the Joelton location and will NOT be referring them to anyone, much less use that location again!MARLORIE W.
Truck needed oil change, I was only their 2nd customer they needed waay more training. you rescheduled my pick up at the last minute for a new location and smaller truck late thursday evening for a new pick up that was 59 miles away. I had the same problems in February when I rented from you had to pick up from 40 miles away had to go back the next day because there was nobody at the location, then the truck broke down in the middle of nowhere wyoming. We were scheduled to drop off the truck on Tuesday 5/24 but finished up early so we dropped it off on 5/23. The location was closed until Thursday and NO DROPBOX was available to leave the key. We contacted the location where we rented the vehicle to let them know and they told us they would make a note and to lock the truck and take the key with us and not leave it in the truck. We left a note stating we had the key and would bring it in on Thursday when they were open. I received two calls this week, first wanting to know where the truck and key were. I explained the situation and told the lady to contact the rental location to confirm we had called them which she did not do. We then got a call today inquiring as to why we had not dropped off the key as we had said we would do. i explained to her that I had obligations to take care and that I would get the key there before the close of business today and if that was a problem, she could contact the rental location where we rented it from. She said she had no reason to contact them which is very upsetting since we did what we were suppose to do but do to a lack of drop box and communications between the interested parties, nothing was noted in the system. In addition, when we filled the tank back to where it was suppose to be, the gas hand stuck and we ended up putting 1/4 tank more than we should have and we were told we could not be reimbursed for the gas. I feel the way this was handled we should be given a reimbursement since we had to make another trip to drop off the key as well as the gas involved. I reserved the trunk a week n advance. Did not receive any notice that my reservation was changed from a U-Haul location that was .3 miles from the move site, to a U-Haul location 22 miles away. When I called Palmetto Farm & Garden, was told the person that did the rentals only worked from 4pm to 5 or 5:30pm. I was not going to wait, went to Palmetto Farm & Garden and got the trunk with no paperwork to show I had it legally. Was told by the persons there it was cheaper if I used it and returned it to them, which was a lie. Tried to call Palmetto Farm & Garden between 4 and 5mp to see if I could get the rental papers, did not get an answer. This made me 4 hour later getting started than I hoped. We had to work through the heat-of-the-day and into the night to get the trunk load.GLEN J.

My complaints have nothing to do with the people where I picked up or turned in the equipment. The U-Haul Company (Customer Service) is solely responsible for my complaints. Insure that you send customers to locations that have your equipment. I was scheduled to pick up a trailer at a location that quit doing business with U-Haul 8 months ago. The door was binding when I tried to lift it and I had to get help to get it above a certain point. I had the same problem when I arrived at my destination (which was expected), except that it was worse. I had to call U-Haul for assistance in getting the door open to unload. If I were to recommend U-Haul to anyone needing rental equipment, I would specify to them that they bypass customer service and work with a local agent that had the equipment and that they check it out at that location to insure it worked properly.
