License plate on truck did not match the vehicle I was to assigned to rent. Clerk insisted it was not an issue and would not rectify the problem.

Brent NI first requested to rent a moving truck at the sherwood park location which got moved in the city. not too happy as being charged extra kilometers for that. Than when i got there, i rented moving equipment through u haul but they also didnt have any available. After driving around tring to rent this equipment , i was charged extra kilometers for that. Very unsatisfied.
Luis PI payed for a dollies during making the reservation; on the pick up date, the lady who works there just simply said they don't have it and refunded the money. It's not about the money but the inconvenience it created. They should either show "dollies not available for this location" or at least has the courtesy to contact the customer ahead of time, not during the pick up. I had to do so much last minute adjustment because of that

Hussein ZFound trash in trailer. Some plastic bags, and carton. I have added a dolly, and a dozen furniture pads to my booking. I found out at check-in that this location doesn’t have these items. How come? No one told me before. I should have got these from a different place earlier.
Edgar AFirst of all the equipment has been poorly managed. I almost had an accident almost 3 times due to the wheels alignment and the truck keeps going into heavy gear. I literally took the truck from these guys on an empty gas tank. 10mins down the road the gas light came on, I had to stop and put gas into the truck. I think this is a very poor customer service. I was charged almost 300 dollars for a day and four hours rental. When I asked why was I charged that much according to them I had to pay for my late return and pay for customers who was in queue to retrieve the truck after my return. I will never come or do business with these guys anymore.

RACHEL oOriginally we had booked the Uhaul at Uncle Pablo's high end convince store. Unfortunately we were sent to Friendly's Mini Mart and Laundromat. The clerks at both locations were friendly and helpful , but we had extra mileage and time spent traveling to the Friendly's Mini Mart and Laundromat.

Andrew DI was originally booked and confirmed to pick up my U-Haul at a different location, when I went to “pick up my rental” on the U-Haul app. I was prompted that no rental would be available for me at the location and to contact customer service. I called customer service spoke with someone briefly and was hung up/ disconnected from the call. I then called back, spoke with another representative who told me there was none of the size truck I had rented available in my area and none of similar size available anywhere near me. She transferred me to another department where I was again hung up on/disconnected with. After calling back for a third time, I was connected with someone who was able to find me a truck that was 13kms further than I had originally booked so said they would compensate me $50 for the extra miles charge (which was not compensated on my final invoice). When I showed up to pick up my rental, the store representative did not have a booking for me 40 minutes after the representative had booked my pick up time for even though my app had the truck ID number and location of pick up correct. And he would therefore not release the keys to me for me to get my truck. I booked this day because it is the end of the month and I needed to move my stuff today, I booked the location I did because it was the closest location to moving location; as to limit the amount of miles I would need to drive. The overall experience today was bad, the customer service was bad and the booking process was terrible.

Kassem NI was skeptical about the location because of other reviews but the cashier did help us well. The truck had less than a quarter tank of gas when we got it and the windshield was dirty. The inside seemed ok.
Allan RThe building this location operates out of feels "sketchy". I understand that is not the fault of U-haul but my passenger refused to enter the building when I went to pick up/drop off the keys.
Zachary JThe service agents were fantastic, however with a 15 Foot truck jam packed with household junk, the truck decided not to work when I turned it off for a stop. The battery was completely dead but luckily I was at a place where a kind man gave me a boost. I had to keep the truck running all the time after that. When I had to shut it down to get gas, it barely started. I let the agent know, however I don’t think anything will be done…it was a small store convenience store with a few vehicles. The next customer will be in for a rude awakening.

Desmond SI ordered the truck online to pick up the truck at 8am. The website said that I can follow the self-instruction to check-in the truck without the interaction with the staff. On the day before, the location called me saying they could not support and I could only pick up the truck by talking to the staff at 9am today. Today, based on the instruction, I went to the store. The staff asked me to upload the driver license, but the website was very slow. I passed my driver license to the staff. He asked me to provide three different phone number to get the truck. Why do I have to provide three different phone number to rent a truck? For the mileage, there was not a process for both us to agree on the starting mileage. The calculation said I drover > 200 km. That's impossible for the round trip in-tow!!

Muslem Uthe people at the store were nice but when they called there boss he was dismissive and not wanting to help without me driving another hour before i could start and paying to go get equipment that should have been at the location if thats what they rented.guess a credit of 2 miles for a trip that was 12 and an hour of my time isnt his concern he can always rent to someone else

Abd AThe lady was really rude, she needs PD in customer service. The truck was really dirty, the gas was almost empty (I drove about 10 km and the out of gas light came in) . Bad bad bad, I used to get Uhaul trucks but this one is garbage. I have all of this backed up with a video.
Nacereddine LWorst experience ever I had, I saw lot of bad reviews about the extra money they charge, many customers had same story like me , i hope U-Haul company takes license from this store they don’t deserve to be part of the franchise, extra charges to rip people, even if you filled up the fuel they will charge you , and no customer service at all, they barely talk or understand English , just their Indian language.

Murray CThe truck was damaged and had less than half of a tank of gas in it. I had rented other supplies (such as x24 moving pads) and the location did not have them for us to use. The owner shrugged it off and said, "we never have them" to which I replied, "It would be helpful if you had the website updated then because if you don't have them, it shouldn't be an option to book the items at this location". Overall, customer service was very poor.

Dawn GWe were charged for double the km that we used. I thought I took a photo of the kms but I guess I didn’t. There was only one destination and the total kms travelled should have been no more than 16 km. We were charged for 38km I think. Horrible customer service.

Shane PThe location is convenient for picking up a truck...close to my house and the service is fast....renting a truck is very easy. The biggest problem is that I have only did business at this place on two occasions and both times they overcharged me the same amount $91.04. The first time I waited and waited for a reversal on my credit card and it wasn't fixed until I complained about it. The exact same thing has happened again this second time and I am still waiting for them to fix it without me having to call and make a compliant. I noticed today that that amount was debited from my credit card account even though the invoice has already been paid in full. The location needs to do better about reversing credit card overcharges without the customer having to do extra legwork, in my opinion.

abu nThe lady I spoke to on my initial visit Friendly Mini Mart & Laundromat was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The reason I rated gave it an Average Rating is because there is a convenience store business and laundromat going on around U-Haul customers while they are trying to rent a truck. This normally would not be a big deal except when I was there a few small kids were yakking and yammering and raising their voices impatient to get served and there were other people coming and going and waiting behind in line, not to rent a U-haul but to buy their soda pop, candy, cigarettes, etc, whatever. I got the feeling that I was holding up the line when trying to rent the truck. I found it as a bit of a distraction and that the counter clerk couldn't really focus on what she was doing with all these other people vying for her attention. I have children of my own and I know that the younger people can be a handful at times. However, I also have a little bit of a hearing impairment and had trouble at times hearing what the lady was asking me because of all the noise going on around me. There was also a laundromat in the same place and people were chit chatting in the background as well. I liked the convenience that the location provided because it was close to my house and I didn't have to travel that far to get the vehicle. The truck I rented was very clean and in good condition and it was the standard that I would expect from a big name company such as U-Haul. When I brought the vehicle back the place was not that crowded as was my first visit but there was still some noise going on in the background. The male clerk was very friendly and helpful as well and it didn't take long for him to process the return. Overall, my best suggestion is that there should be a little side desk area where U-Haul customers don't have to be sandwiched in between a number of convenience store customers so that they don't feel like someone is breathing down their neck to get their milk, candy, cigarettes, etc. I also noticed that there was a $93.19 overcharge on my credit card. This is probably not uncommon in this type of business and I would expect to see a refund to my credit card for this amount sometime in the near future. I know that the business owners are hard working people trying to make a honest living....it's just that a little further thought needs to go into making the convenience store location a little more convenient for U-Haul customers. William DFriendly lady at the store helped me when I picked up the truck and dropped it off. Good rates. I was honestly surprised that the truck lasted the move. The passenger door was almost hanging off, horrible noises, the engine revved high until it picked up speed. Good thing it was only an in town move. A whole day for $100 is still a good deal.

Wesam ATruck wasn't clean when I had queations they guy just ignored me. I called to ask if I needed the truck longer what are my charges? He said i dunno extra charges that's all I got. When I returned the truck the guy said we left it on empty we gave them half a tank of gas more than what we were given, he didn't know to start the truck to see the fuel level. When I put in a complaint on the dirty truck this John guy called me and said if I cleaned it myself he would have given me a 25$ credit... crappy service ill be using a different company if I move again. Alot of people told me this kinda crap would happen with u haul.

Francis OThe van needed to be cleaned. I didn't expect it to be perfect, but it was like it was driven all winter and never washed outside and never vacuumed inside. The bed was fine for what I was using it for but there were leaves and branches all over the place. The person working the counter was very nice and helpful. Both when I picked it up and returned it.

Danny S1. Attendant at pick up location was on personal phone call while trying to complete my order and took extra time because of her call. She did not answer my questions when I asked them and continued on her phone call the entire time even I when kindly stated I was in a hurry. 2. I had paid for 2 dollys and asked for boxes but I got only got one dolly. I was not given any boxes and never got reimbursed for the boxes. Overall, I was very disappointed with this experience. I work in a sector where it is of the upmost importance that we give those we serve our full attention while we care for them. Even with other interactions, I recognize the importance of providing your attention and focus to people you are serving. It’s clear this attendant did not understand this principle despite working in the customer service industry.

Shanice SI have used U-Haul probably about 10 times now in the last 5 years. This experience has been the worst. Truck wipers smeared windshield during a small snow storm, set of tires on the drivers side back were bald and wouldn't grip good enough to move around a packed snow lane; the truck was dirty, and I was overcharged on the mileage, rate says 0.99/km but I was charged 1.69/km. I picked up the truck at night, so that I could leave extra early in the morning; and got the truck back 28 minutes after the 24 hour mark and was charged for a whole day again which I was late because I got stuck and it took approximately an hour to get going again. The people at the store were not very knowledgeable either when it came time to check into the pricing and such.
