Agent at pickup didn't know how to complete my paperwork. He had to FaceTime someone on his cellphone and they had to walk him step by step while he had his phone facing the computer screen. Afterwards it took him 50 minutes to find the key to the lockbox to get the keys to the truck. After trying several times and coming back and forth from the outside looking thru things he didn't have the right key and had to call someone to bring him another key. My overall experience was a pure nightmare because I was given the wrong size truck, apparently my rental was mixed up with someone else. I will definitely not recommend this location to anyone. Thanks to my drop off location they were able to figure out what the problem was and they assured me that I would be getting reimbursed for the wrong size truck they gave meAvon W.

Ordered and paid for dolly which was not in truck. Had to sweep out dirty truck before we could load anything on it. There was not a full tank of gas so had to gas up. Keys were not easily accessible due to lock box number on reservation being wrong. Manager had to meet us there to unlock a different box for us. I've rented at least 5 Uhauls this year and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. The location was horrible! The truck was full of trash, dead bugs(roaches) and broken glass and lightbulbs. The check engine light was on, and the gas was Almost empty! The dash indicates there was only 25 miles to empty. I ordered a dozen blanketsâ€¦ and there was NONE. I had to fill the gas, clean the truck and find blankets before I could even get my move started. HORRIBLE experience!!!Karenanne P.

This rental started out with picking up a truck from Port City Outdoors. The truck was in a terrible state. You could smell exhaust in the cab. The seats wouldn't move. The mirrors wouldn't adjust . The radio didn't work and the engine was skipping. The truck needs to be junked. It took 5 calls to Uhaul to get something different and then the place we got a van from was moldy and seedy. We spent a large part of our day working out the rental issues. The people at Port City Outdoors couldn't have cared less. The dispatcher at the Uhaul place was rude and wouldn't even give us his name. Terrible experience.Anita M.

Fraudulently used my debit card unauthorized without me knowing on 7/22/22 for $33.67. Atiba & Kevin is a private seller of uhaul and should NEVER be trusted. We have uHaul countless times over the past decade and have grown accustom to the customer services, even celebrated the effeciency usually experienced thanks to the mobile app. However, this time we were shocked when we learned that we were getting the truck from a different location, not via phone or even email as we had been alerted in the past. Instead we were smart enough to log into the app right before we left to pick up the truck, to learn that we were picking up a truck several miles away instead of .5 miles away. In the past, we always got an email or call from a customer representative. We were also shocked to find the tank almost on empty, instead of filled. We had the pleasure of starting the move process with the anxiety of getting to the nearest gas station, as quickly as possible. As a repeat customer of uHaul, we were disappointed not to experience the same efficient, communicative customer service we have experienced in the past.Marla G.

I drove 45 total miles and returned the vehicle with the appropriate amount of gas in the tank, but I was charged for 86 miles and 9.40 for fuel. This location ripped me off, possibly let someone else drive the vehicle after I returned it and charged it to my account.Robert M.

I made an error and rented mistakenly from a dealer 3 miles away instead of the dealer .5 miles down the road. The dealer near me (4905 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC) said I couldnt rent from him even though he had a trailer available (basically change the reservation). So I traveled to the other dealer. When I got there I found the trailer had no working brake lights! This dealer instructed me to drag this trailer back to the dealer near me and swap it out! So I did so! When I went to return the trailer after my trip I went to return it back to the same dealer (the one I picked it up from which was near me). Again this dealer (owner) requested I return it back to the other dealer (here we go again!). This time I refused! I said â€œthis is your trailer! Im returning it to you! I dont have time for this runaround again! This dealer (owner) became very rude and abrasive! He even gave me a hard time when I requested he unhitch the unit! I have some back issues and requested he do it. After all, he should anyway! This is part of the rental service we pay for! Finally after unhitching it he sarcastically said â€œwow, that was hard!â€. Needless to say, I unloaded on this rude and unprofessional man! I will consider renting from a company other tgan uhaul next time! I think after this episode, they are not worthy of my business. I was very impressed with the person running this location. He was helpful and efficient. My only gripe on this experience is that i paid $60 to fill up the tank and had the tank been full when I got it it would have been half that amount. So I feel like I am out $30 because I was worried about dropping the truck off with 3/4 a tank of gas.Damian K.
