My original reservation was for picking up the rental truck from the San Leandro St. location in Oakland - a few hours before the scheduled pick up they notified me that even though I had reserved a 15 foot truck that at this time none were available. That is total bullshit right there people make plans have rent to pay and things like that when someone deserves a truck you should damn well have it ready to go in on time!

I rented a trailer but this location did not have the adapter to hook up the tail lights. I had to drive to a different uhaul center (without the lights working aka illegally) to get the adapter. Not cool uhaul. This is basic stuff. Get your shit together before someone gets hurt.

This cost me time and extra mileage on the van that I should not be responsible for. I will be contacting customer service later today.

GRACE DI feel that Uhaul has a bait and switch mentality just to make a sale. I had placed my order online for the Concord CA location, the order was confirmed and then was told that Uhaul may change the location of pick up. If there were no vehicles at that location at the time of my order, it should have been stated. I made non-refundable overnight accomodations in the Concord area and had I known I needed to go to Berkeley, on a week day with commute traffic, I would have booked my stay IN Berkeley instead. This caused HUGE logistical problems on my end. This organization is large enough to state - there are no vehicles at this location for this date - period.

R TTwice in a week the vehicle I picked up had a gas level so low that I immediately had to go to a gas station and fill it. The first time, I didn't get to the gas station and had to ask a stranger to help me push a 9ft van.
Sam MWhen I arrived, my 15' rental was not available because it had not been returned by the prior customer. I spoke with the location contact who said there was nothing he could do and to call customer support. I contacted customer support who told me a 15' truck was available at another location, but that didn't fit my project schedule, so I accepted a 10' truck instead. It took about 10-minutes to get a customer support agent on the phone. My project was completed, though more slowly than I'd hoped. A $50 credit was provided, but I was frustrated by my experience. While U-Haul did what they could, it was a frustrating experience. As a suggestion, a phone call explaining what happened or the ability for location agents to make changes would have been helpful.

Horacio BI experienced a few issues with this location, and I won't be going back. While the staff was friendly, the equipment was in poor shape. The rental truck had a "check engine" light on (critical flaw), the driver side door wouldn't close all the way, and the passenger cabin was filthy and gross. These are safety risks. I decided to return the truck without using it much. I traveled no more than 10 miles total, but was charged for 40 miles. Either: they misread the initial odometer when I picked it up, or, they deliberately altered the miles in the computer, or the truck is broken, making it look like more miles were used. I'm not sure the answer, but I won't be returning. Please correct these problems. Thank you.

GUY WVehicle had no gas in the tank. The cap on the gas tank was missing (safety issue). The check engine light was on. I would expect better maintenance of the vehicle. The agent at the pickup location was very helpful and friendly.
