The van booked could not been found on site. I was sent around several times to “look for it” in the 35 Celsius sun and dirt, and only when another customer joined me and testified that the van is not on the lot was I given another van - that one was dusty on the outside, inside was clean—ish but smelled of smoke. Wasted about 45 minutes and felt like an idiot. Cheap but humiliating.

The location was not the one I expected to drop off at and was much further time and miles away. I was caught in a traffic delay which was not expected which held me up for 20 minutes at least. Once I found the location it was difficult to find a place to park the vehicle. The personnel came rushing out with out introducing himself and immediately said "Dropping off a Rental". He jumped in the cab and took a picture of the odometer and once out he commented the "left rear tire was low on pressure". I explained the situation and was greeted with little more than a grunt. He then stated "you have a $61.00 charge with no explanation and asked if the credit card on file was the one to charge. I was exhausted after the previous few days and simply said yes. I was told the reciept would be e-mailed to me. I was unsure why the extra charge, but left. Later I recalled the notice in the back of the box that stated if the inside of the box was neat and clean when returned $25.00 would be taken off the charges. The personnel at the drop off location never opened the back of the truck and no discussion was held beyond the minimum. It was not until much later I realized a complete inspection and explanation was not conducted. I was annoyed and this will impact my recommendation to others.

More accurate fuel gauge reading on pick up would be nice. I was in a hurry but took the truck at what was supposed to be 1/4 tank. It took 30$ to bring it up to 1/4 tank. My fault for not addressing initially before leaving, but like mentioned i was in a rush so didn't bother.

I wasn’t happy to be charged $20 for dropping the truck off in non work hours. The key was left in the drop box and parked in lot. So I guess they charge you $20 to have to retrieve the key from the lock box.

The app had some trouble working when I picked up truck early in the am. I had to contact UPS chat to get it sorted and overall, it took an hour. I returned the truck while the shop was open and the owners were lovely. Took care of everything quickly and it was a very nice end to a long weekend of moving.

If I could give a star rating for the product, I would rate it a five. I would give zero stars to the angry little man behind the counter. I don’t know what his problem was nor do I care. His conduct was completely unprofessional and he acted as though serving a customer was somehow a chore and an inconvenience.If I ever had to use U-Haul again, I would drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction to use a different location just to avoid having anything to do with that business ever again.

We reserved a 20ft truck to be picked up at the Duncan location weeks ahead of our move at the last minute they said we could not get it. We were referred to a location that was near where we were moving to. So we had to drive to Langford and pick up the truck there before starting our move. We had booked for 3 days but was told that we had to have it back before 2 on the third day but we ended up getting charged for the full timeline. The staff at the Goldstream Market were polite and efficient.

Relocate the partner to a cleaner more professional outfit. Grocery store was filthy and disgusting. Owner told me I had reservation for 10 even though I had called him the day before to make it 9am. Then told me my credit card didn’t provide collision waiver even though I had also called Visa to verify that they did provide it. Attitude the whole process and then a beat up truck with engine light on the whole time and only 1/4 tank of fuel. And I had to go round back and drive it out myself. I’m not happy with the experience at all. Please take my comments seriously and change who you deal with in Langford. Last time I used UHaul in Victoria I had a good experience. This time has damaged your reputation for sure.

The service was extraordinarily slow. It took me forty minutes waiting with staff for the uhaul software to work. That was after waiting forty minutes to be seen. On top of that I was told I had to return the truck by 5pm yesterday, not the 24 hours that I requested. Then when I returned the truck I had to wait another twenty minutes before I was processed and I was charged an additional $57 for I don't know what. And, when I booked the truck I received a call that they did not have that size of truck and gave me a smaller one, I asked if it would fit a 1-2 bedroom apartment, they said yes. It did not and I needed to make two trips. Completely unethical and unprofessional from start to finish.

I initially reserved a 26' truck online for a two-day period. Subsequently, a customer service representative contacted me to inform me of the unavailability of the 26' truck and offered a 20' truck at an alternative location, which I accepted. However, the reservation was inadvertently made for only one day. Upon arrival to collect the truck, I was informed of the single-day reservation and the requirement for the vehicle by 12:00 PM the following day. Despite efforts to secure an alternative solution by contacting other locations, no suitable options were available due to the end-of-month demand. Consequently, we proceeded with the 20' truck for one day, which resulted in a challenging and stressful relocation process. We commenced our activities at 5:00 AM the following day to meet the schedule. While I acknowledge that the local branch was not responsible for this issue, the error originated from your customer service department, leading to significant inconvenience for us. I hope this feedback reaches the appropriate management personnel for review and resolution.

I am 67 yrs old with mobility issues. I was told I had to park on the street and not in their compound, which had many stores vehicles, boats and other equipment. I could not walk 3-4 blocks and they found a place for my car. I sincerely appreciated their effort to accommodate me but NO customer should have to do that. UHall is fantastic but space should be available to park. Wonderful couple Goldstream Market in Langford BC. Five stars from me.

It was crazy busy. There was nowhere to park the truck. We handed the clerk the contract, he handed it back without looking at it.. he asked if there were any problems. Told him the engine light came on, he said that's fine, all the while talking to another customer.

I ordered quite a head of time 2 dollys & a flat with wheels. They were not available. We drove 6 km & gas full up was $33. We were a five minute drive after we unloaded. Crazy! My son told him about the gas price but no comment from representative. I was busy so didn’t go. The guy was rushing us we we picked up truck(he was busy since it was a convenient store too which I understand but U-Haul is a business also) thank for listening.

There is one Asian guy who’s not helpful, he doesn’t acknowledge anyone he ignores customers and is very rude and Does not want to help. When we asked him for help with the truck set ups he was very unhappy to help and kept saying just check you drive a car it’s the same. Would never recommend this guy to anyone. The women is nice she’s friendly and helpful unlike him.

Poor handling of reservations on uhauls end, allowed for a reservation to be made on a vehicle that isn't available and further, makes alterations to the reservation so that you have to return your rental to the pick up location, even though your original reservation stated one way to another city. Also, having to return a truck within the 24 hr pick up window, that has to be driven back to the town it was picked up in because the reservation system is broken and leaves to recourse to customers after they have been given their assigned whatever U-Haul wants to give you booking, has no leeway. I brought the truck back within 45minutes of return period and was charged for a second day. I'm seething at the idea of this company not giving a single care to customers that they are actively making life harder for and still taking their money despite this. I am holding back being very upset with this absolute idiocy and the fact that your brain-dead customer service agent effectively told my partner and I to either deal with the hand we were dealt or take a hike, even though it's your bloody system that you made for us to book through that is screwing us over. I genuinely used to be partial to your company, it can be good, I've used you a number of times and it has usually been a reasonable experience for the price, this is just a kick in the teeth and I will not be pursuing the services provided from this company again. Waste of my time writing this but I am so beyond frustrated with this experience.

The U-Haul pre-rental vehicle inspection contains a flaw which makes it impossible to photograph the vehicle condition at the section where vehicle cleanliness is confirmed. It was just really busy and hard to get any answers to questions - not necessarily the guy's fault - just ha a million things going on at once but kinda felt brushed off.

When I got there to check in the app would crash and I would have to start over. Then I would accidentally hit the "CHAT" icon and I again would lose all progress. I would think you should be able to go in to the chat for help and seamlessly back to where you were. Then I took 1 picture and the app crashed again. When I started it up it said I was checked in and ready to go meaning I forfeited any damages. So, I went back inside and the guy sent me a new link to start the check in over which was thru my web browser which seems to work way better then the app. Then i get in the van and it was EMPTY! Like totally, needle buried, warning bells going off, not sure I will make it to the station - empty. I asked the guy what to do as this has never happened before and he said if I return it with 1/4 a tank I would get a fuel reimbursement. I see on my receipt I got an adjustment of $5.95. Which is crazy considering fuel is $2.13/liter and I had to put in $50 to get it to quarter and returned it on a quarter. $5.95 in fuel barely got me to the station which was out of my way to out fuel in it to do the actual job. App and check in were awful and time consuming. No fuel was an extremely annoying and cost WAY more money then it should have. Will be using Home Depot Cargo Van from now on. This was a terrible, expensive experience. Because of the machine being empty

I reserved in Parksville. U-Haul changed pickup to Courtenay. When I was going to Courtenay they called and told me Langford was the only option. I went 300kms out of my way to pick up trailer. When I arrived back in Parksville I drove past the dealership only to see the EXACT trailer I had reserved there.

The truck itself was fine, but the service was terrible, especially from the Chinese guy. He didn’t advocate for the customers before picking up the truck. My time was delayed for 30 minutes because I had to find street parking for my car and take pictures of the truck. I hope this helps others.

Please fix your website. It took me 40 min to try and scan my license and in the end they had to do it a the desk. If your going to have people use your broken ass website to upload there license, why not have them do it through the the app at home? otherwise is just wastes everyone time. I will not be recommending U-haul to anyone because of my experience.

I don't agree with being charged extra for gas. I took pictures before and after and I returned at the exact same level. I told the attendant about it and simply said I would be charged. Didn't ask to see the pictures. Also, the km was one of which wasn't a big deal. I shouldn't have accepted the contract but I was in a rush.

Windshield was dirty on the inside. The fact that the gas tank wasn't filled up 100%, only was 1/4 and you know how hard it was trying to bring it back with only 1/4 tank...especially in theae extreme fuel prices...was extremely disappointing. Most other rental companies have the tank full and you bring back full. As a result we had left anextra 1/4 tank (gage was at half full upon return)...nocrefund and we were out of pocket by 1/4 tank on a 20' moving truck. The positive is the location of the pick up in relation to our house... only reason we'll have to use it one more time for final move.

Getting the truck and drop off was awful. Made me download and app and forces the paying customer to do all the work required in picking up and drop off. The location has little cell service but expects everything done on an app that can’t be downloaded due to the service.
